Manchester United vs Perth Glory (Sat 13th July, 12:00 UK time)

I was reading the Busby book recently, and there's an apt quote in it - "the ball should never stop moving". We just seem to sit with the ball for a few seconds when we run out of ideas
We're progressing well, but when we hit their defensive wall we just turn around and recycle it back to our CBs.
We're far too slow in possession and have been for years.

We're never going to improve unless there's a serious improvement in our off the ball movement and quick passing, feels like I've been saying this for years
Maguire. He'll switch the play from left to right as the focal point in defense while recycling the ball.

Completely agree with Irwin in that we've tried to penetrate through the middle too much.

Second half we need to get it wide and stretch a compact Perth side.

Pogba sharing his nuggets of wisdom with AWB. Probably on how to engineer move out in 3 years.

Looking forward to seeing the attacking players in this half.

Yeah, no pattern of play and attacking nous.

Fitness is fine, but if you cant break down teams and/or create some chances with good attacking play, you have no chance. It was what people said when Ole talked about fitness after the losses. We barely created chances and it continues. He is now half a year here and we look clueless on the ball. We rely on individuals to create something out of nothing, football from the past age

Such a shame Gomes is no bigger than a garden gnome

Greenwood has grown hasn't he. Looks more like a bloke now. Gomes handling the physicality well - he should get plenty of minutes this season.

Funny how we’ll play down the right now with a proper right back on.
