Arsenal are use to losing to us. We’ll be playing teams of Madrid/Dortmund calibre in the CL. But like you said it’s only pre season. Not worried at all. Once we get consistency with the same 11 then we’ll be fired up.
I thought we looked good. Very good at times even. More so in the first half than in the second as odd as that feels to say given the lineup differences between the halves.Dortmund just showed what we lack up front. Happy for Malen to finally show the promise he had when we arrived at Dortmund and has since started showing as of last season.

Well, fitness is clearly lacking while no tactical ideas are not being bedded in to any effect.
I miss the concept of playing most of our pre-season matches against local clubs of inferior levels albeit in midseason form instead of that silly cash cow of friendlies played almost exclusively against European clubs.
ETH comments on the last 30 minutes shows how unforgiving he will be once the season starts. Anyone not following pressing and build up rules will have to sit it out till they learn his methods
Only caught the highlights. Some horrible errors in defence but it was a weak team we put out. Didn’t even realise Williams was still at the club - surely he’s not our backup to Malacia because he’s absolutely terrible. Lindelof and Maguire just don’t work - no surprise we were in for a CB.

I'm worried Johnny Evans was so disgusted with our performance, he won't agree to join us this season. He must have felt like he was surrounded by amateurs.

If we don't rid ourselves of shit players like Maguire, Lindelof & AWB we will just continue to have the same problems as last season in defence. I can't believe that no money has been spent fixing our most frail position. Better competition for spots need to be made for Varane & Martinez, when or if they get injured we will be in serious trouble come the season proper.

I said we should've made sure we got Kim Min-jae but the Caf told me it wasn't a priority.

I wouldn't say the drop of is scary, but with Varane beeing so prone to injuries it would be assuring having another good defender.
So who else have realized that Kim Min Jae signing that Ten Hag failed to sanction, will go a long way to haunt us this season? Ten Hag wants to build his central defence around Lindelof, Maguire and an injury prone Varane??? The only quality and reliable central defender is Licha Martinez.
FFS not this shit again. Of course we all would have preferred Maguire to leave and get another CB in, but Maguire actually needs to leave first!
EtH didn't 'fail' to sanction anything. He probably would have much preferred a new CB over Maguire as well.
People reading far too much into pre-season. We've had amazing pre-season results in the recent past only to have stinkers once the season started.
Lindelöf is just not good enough for United. I know he has games where he does better, but overall he should be playing for a much smaller club.
Luke Shaw can play CB
We can argue to the cows come home about who we need to sign but we've taken care of other important positions.
But not Martinez and Shaw together?
Lindelof worked with both Martinez and Varane last season when either were injured.
We've had more of the ball in all of the games except the Arsenal one and pretty much created equal chances in all of them too. What we are lacking is the killer bellow at the moment. Which is not surprising because it was the same last season and we've not made any changes to the front line until Hojland comes in...

I trust Lindelof with either Martinez, Varane and Shaw. I don't trust Maguire with anyone.
That is a recurring theme that players make much more mistakes with Harry on the pitch. He isn't the one to blame for those mistakes you mentioned but it definitely feels like he unsettles other defensive players. That OR simply Varane/Martinez have that hugely calming influence on others.

We fecked up hard on that one. Convincing Kim that he would likely have plenty of minutes because Varane is ageing should have been so easy to do.
We ditched players in a cavalier fashion before. So why can't we do the same with Maguire?

Yes. Didn‘t we win most of it last year and Martial scored a bunch only to disappear once the season started.
