Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Very solid half from us Carrick and Cleverley have been excellent

Carrick and Cleverley are playing astoundingly deep. Seems like there is a massive gap between defence and attack.

What's with you knobs calling it a shit/dire/crap half of football.

fecking appreciate different things and certainly appreciate how Moyes has set his team up to dominate a good side.

Need to up the tempo to catch Chelsea more off guard, they're well-organized.

Better team but we really are lacking a creator in the middle. Can't help but think this will continue to be how we play unless we get a Fabregas type player or our wingers are back to their best.

It's a shame Fabio isn't even on the bench because we have a lot of the ball down that side and Jones/Valencia aren't doing much with it offensively.

Short of a goal I could not be happier with how the game has gone, we've been completely dominating them in every aspect of the game.

Yeap. We tiki-takaed and are pressing a tad bit higher than we would normally... Chelski's midfield cant get into gear that way.

Extremely boring game. We dominated the possession but neither team created anything. Cleverley the best player in the pitch in the first half IMO.

Impressed by Cleverley but, Rooney and RVP have been very involved as well. Wish we had Zaha on the bench to put along side Evra on the left - Ivanovic can be got to.

Like Rene said, we need low hard crosses fired in from Jones, not shite high ones. The one time he fired one low, it dropped to Clev for a shot.

Thought Vidic, Rooney and Carrick were very good. As was Cleverley. We're creating pretty much nothing though. We need a Nani on one of the wings to create something

In the middle we have been very good so far imo. We lack sth from the wings though. Welbeck is often very central giving Evra no options and Jones is fecking up his final balls on the right.

Yep Valencia is also looking very good, again well done Moyes.
To be fair, I doubt moyes has that much to do with it. He's a good footballer who probably just needed a break.

Happy with that first half.i think we if we play like we can we can really stretch this Chelsea side. They're looking pretty poor. But still, were the ones forcing the issue. Good stuff.

Not the best first half of football you'll ever see but we've been okay so far and look the better side so far with more of a threat.

Been quite impressed with Rooney so far. Even though he's hardly been sensational, he seems to actually care and has been very involved in the game. Looks like Moyes decision to start with him has paid off.

Van Persie and Welbeck have been very quiet so far. A lot of our threats on the left are coming from Evra, and we haven't really created enough for Van Persie to be dangerous or massively involved.

Jones is fairly average at right back offensively. In comparison to Evra who is constantly bombing down the wing and supporting in attack, he's offering nothing which is ironic considering is central defence or midfield he loves to get forward. Like I said though, he's been solid enough defensively so he's hardly been awful.

Chelsea look completely toothless in attack at times. You can tell they've not got a proper striker out there in this game and that Mourinho clearly feels he needs one. They're lucky they've got some top class attacking players in there who can support and contribute to goals a lot more than some other players would.

Let's introduce Kagawa now please! This game is perfect for him! Solid midfield behind him, high tempo when attacking, RVP up front... Moyes, please!

Jose will take advantage of our lack of a killing pass and cutting edge if we're not careful.

Either Moyes gets Rooney to play deeper or should bring on Kagawa or he and Anderson both.

Well that was dull. More of the same then a last minute Rooney winner. Him and Moyes to hug in the celebration before showing Mourinho the finger.

We've been good so far but no cutting edge, Chelsea won't be as bad in the second half I think.

Very good point. This is the most well organised I have seen us for some time dare I say it. Really good.

This is a Jose Mourinho football match. He squeezes the life out of games. He's come for a point. We lack incision.

Rooney needs to find more space in the hole and make Ramires cover for Lampard's aging legs.
