Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Definitely agree with those who want Kagawa on. His extra craft is exactly the thing we need in this game. Though Chelsea probably think the same about Mata. :nervous:

Who will you take out for him though? It's a very tight balance now with us edging it by a bit.

Rooney or Welbeck out... I can't really decide who..

We're playing great, but we lack someone with good technique, quick feet and vision to stand in front of the box and create clear-cut chances. That player is Kagawa.

I've been impressed with us in terms of organisation and defending. First time in a long time I've been able to watch a big United game without feeling like my hearts ready to fail at any given second. We've been in control but our final ball has been poor to say the least. Also Chelsea have been organised very well too so its up to us to use our quick attacks against them, Cahill is error prone so surprised we haven't targeted him.

What's with you knobs calling it a shit/dire/crap half of football.

fecking appreciate different things and certainly appreciate how Moyes has set his team up to dominate a good side.

The match has been dire because both teams are trying not to lose. Hardly any chances have been created. It has nothing to do with anything else like Moyes setting out his team to dominate. Don't be precious.

Let's introduce Kagawa now please! This game is perfect for him! Solid midfield behind him, high tempo when attacking, RVP up front... Moyes, please!

Would love to see Kagawa come on as he seems a good bet to supply the final ball we've been lacking but not sure who for...Rooney's been lively, Valencia's been good and Welbeck's had a few bright moments and done some typically good work defensively.

Good half from us. Not the most exciting of games but we've looked the better side and our wrkrate has been excellent.

Watch for Lukaku to come on after 15 mins and run his bollocks off
He's their striker I most fear. I could see t being his tactic to sit back at first and the attack later on. He's good with making changes as we saw against madrid in the cl.

there is a reason you put your most creative player in the center of the field... there he has more options to choose from when passing, etc.

Rooney has been great in almost everything, but everytime he gets the ball near the box, his passing is crap and not incisive. I really want to see Kagawa there. This Chelsea team, has been letting us play a lot, but we are not creating nothing.Kagawa is much more clinical to play those 1-2s quickly to get the best out of Welbeck and RVP.

I hope Mourinho keeps the same team for the second half.

Carrick, Jones, Valencia, Cleverley the best so far... RVP also playing good and running a lot but he is not getting dangerous balls at all.

COME ON GUYS!!!! 1 goal before min 55!!

We just need to get a ball in and use it a bit quicker around the edge of their box. We should really have capitalised when their first half strategy of no striker clearly want working. Can't help but feel if they bring in a striker it'll change the flow of the game. Still plenty of encouragement for now.

I was very impressed with that. I thought we looked in total control for about 95% of that half.

Actually that's fair. Rooney has shown some nice touches and tried hard, but he's lacked quality with his final ball or in tight spaces.

I'm like this.

Always feel tense the entire game for big matches like this.

Dull or bored never enters the equation

Yep. It's not like we were 3 goals up. It's still 0 fecking 0. And it's against Chelsea+Mou, a strong title rival. Anything can happened in seconds.

I'm honestly not sure how anyone can argue that it wasn't a fairly dull and uneventful half, but different opinions and all that I guess. Chelsea set out like they used to under Mourinho with a very solid defense which is giving us very little room around the area. No real chances to speak of and quite a few misplaced passes, including more than a couple going directly out of play. It's clearly still early in the season, but it hasn't exactly been sparkling attacking quality from either side. We want it slightly more than Chelsea so far and has - as a result of that - been a bit more threatening, but still need more sharpness around the area to get through their 8 defenders.
