Manchester United VS Chelsea

Have been reading all the press and I am really, really up for this game now. It did not hit me until this morning. My mam rang me at 7am to say she has prayed for a United victory! So we should be all set. I am watching the game at my good luck pub. Please, please, please, let us win this one! We have had our fair share of final defeats in recent seasons.

Some things that have made me feel better:

- In Grant's first final against Spurs, they lost and were poor.
- Liverpool scored goals quite freely against Chelsea. We should have a chance in light of this, considering our better attacking resources.
- In our 2-1 defeat at SB we were without Scholes, Ronaldo or Tevez. We lost Vidic to injury very early on and we were playing most the game with a half fit Rooney. Even then, we lost out to a penalty.
- By all accounts SAF has been in stellar form, keeping everyone calm and jovial. The players seem relaxed. Chelsea and their rabble seem quite uptight. It is better to go into a game of this magnitude with the shackles off and to play with experession.

Agree:

van der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Hargreaves - Carrick - Scholes
Ronaldo - Tevez - Rooney
subs: PIG, O'Shea, Fletcher, Giggs, Park, Nani, Saha

However; SAF was saying in his press conference how he knows that the subs off the bench could win us the game, I do wonder if he was referring to Carlitos!! If that is the case then...

van der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Hargreaves - Carrick - Scholes
Ronaldo - Park
- Rooney -
subs: PIG, O'Shea, Fletcher, Giggs, Tevez, Nani, Saha did not train yesterday (I know Vidic didn't either but SAF has already said Vida will play! I wonder if this could be Wellbecks bench night??

I think this is the main point, with a fully fit squad at OT we knocked them for six and played them off the pitch, but when we played them at SB as you say only haf team plus injury's stars didn't play etc.. The goal they scored past us was a terrible defensive error (not a genius goal) and a penalty in the end minutes!!

ALso wanted to add how a lot of people out there are commenting on how wide the pitch is.. this has to suit or passing game and Ronni's space to run at defenders better then there style of play :D

I don't think SAF will start Giggs, despite his legendary experience he seems to have a lot more to offer coming from the bench nowadays

-----------------VDS----------------
Brown-----Rio----Vidic---------Evra

---------Carrick------Hargreaves----
--------------Scholes-----------------
Ronaldo-------------------Tevez------

--------------Rooney-----------------

Something like this imo.

Subs:PIG,O'Shea,Silvestre,Anderson,Giggs,Nani,Park

It's all just starting to sink in now... can't believe we're in the final again. Another 8+ hours to go, feck it

Watching our fans in Moscow on SN now, unbelievable.

They haven't shown any Chelsea fans, only United ones

Wenger: Ref will decide it

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has warned Manchester United and Chelsea the Uefa Champions League final will be decided by referee Lubos Michel.

Michel, who caused controversy in 2005 by awarding Luis Garcia's 'ghost goal for Liverpool against Chelsea, will be the man in the middle for Wednesday's clash in Moscow between.

Wenger feels his Arsenal side have suffered at the hands of officials this season and the Frenchman believes Wednesday's showpiece could be decided by the referee.

"Every match is being decided on a referee's decision and I wouldn't put my house on a ref's decision," said Wenger.

"You saw in the semi-finals that every decision of the referee can influence the result.

"It's that fraction of a second, too difficult to decide if it's off-side or not. Is it a penalty or not?

"It is so tight between teams at the top in England. For me every big game has been decided by refereeing decisions."

WTF going on?

I think this is the team......

VDS

Brown
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra

Ronaldo
Carrick
Scholes
Park

Rooney
Tevez

Subs: Giggs, Nani, Anderson, Hargreaves, Saha, O'Shea, Kuszczak

I think Ferguson loves what Park brings to the game - tireless covering, tireless runs forward, the same that you get from Tevez and Rooney. Park will play 70 minutes and give way to Hargreaves if we are leading, or Nani if we are losing.

I think he will also bring on Giggs whatever the score at around the 75-80 minute mark.

My man of the match prediction is Carlos Tevez with two goals that help us to a 2-1 victory.

GO ON UNITED!

18 000 cards will be held aloft as the teams enter the pitch and during the Champions League anthems.
The outline of the white BELIEVE can be seen in the seats behind the players training.

I think Hargreaves might start, try and get a hold of their midfield.

We got to go at em and i think we will, Rooney Tevez and Ronaldo to start, Carrick Schole sand Hargo in't middle

Worst night of sleep ever, could actually count the number of times i turned around in bed.

Anyone know anything about the Chelsea line up? TalkSport were reporting that Ballack had been dropped. I find this hard to believe.
