Have UEFA done anyhting right for this final?
Moscow for two PL teams, ffs
No way there without spending a small mortgage deposit
No where to stay when you get there unless you have $1000 spare
Pitch fecked up and is barely playable by all accounts
Stadium has the largest athletic track I've ever seen, esp behind the goals
10:45pm (local time) kick off

I also fear for our lads peeing or drinking in Red Square or anywhere in Moscow. You know they will....

I feel bad not being there. I was there in 68 and 99. But looking at all the negatives for this trip its better I didn't go. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

You can just about see there's a football pitch there...

The ghosts of Champions League showdowns past were stirred for Chelsea yesterday when the referee and assistant who allowed Luis García's contentious winner for Liverpool in their 2005 semi-final were announced as being two of the men in charge of the final with Manchester United tomorrow evening.

Lubos Michel and his assistant Roman Slysko have been held in low esteem by followers of Chelsea since they ruled that García's early goal in the second leg of the tie at Anfield had crossed the line. It proved to be the only one and Chelsea were left with a sense of injustice.

Nobody stewed quite like Jose Mourinho. "It was a goal that came from the moon - from the Anfield stands," said Chelsea's then manager, who would also describe it as a "ghost goal".

"Liverpool scored," he added, "if you can say that they scored, because maybe you should say the linesman scored."

Michel, 40 last Friday, and Slysko, 34, are joined by Martin Balko, 36, the other assistant. A fourth Slovakian, Vladimir Hrinak, will act as the fourth official.

Michel has refereed Chelsea on two other occasions - in the Champions League group fixture against CSKA Moscow in 2004, which they won 2-0, and a game at Werder Bremen last season which they lost 1-0. He has refereed United on six occasions, twice in the knockout stages of the Champions League. He oversaw their 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of the 2002 semi-final and the 7-1 win over Roma in the second leg of last season's quarter-final.

He is also known to British audiences for his handling of the 2003 Uefa Cup final between Mourinho's Porto and Martin O'Neill's Celtic. O'Neill was deeply unhappy with Michel's performance.

Poor location, Poor pitch, Poor officials... what the hell is going on.

This is from memory. ronaldo headed goal in the first half. ronaldos best game so far for us. dennis wise tackling hard and messing around. rvn scored 2 in the second half and was wrongly made man of the match by the watching sven.

Would be a great line-up.

But where is Anderson? HE certainly should be at least on the bench, mate.

The trophy celebrations/presentation will be done in the stands.

Should be done on the pitch imo, celebrating in the stands is shite. I won't care if we win though :p

I know :(

I can't see Fergie leaving out Fletcher or Park though. It'll probably be a toss up between Nani and Anderson.

Fantastic record.

All three should play, if they don't, I shall be very disappointed.

OK - time for the traditional remark in the matchday thread.

I expect a 4-3-3 - Scholes is playing and so, surely, must Hargreaves - given Anderson has played little recently I suspect that Carrick is the other midfielder.

Rooney and Ronaldo seem fit so they are a given - yet I suspect SAF wants Tevez as an option from the bench - which would mean Park probably starts.

The back 5 pick themselves assuming Vidic is indeed fit. If Hargreaves has to go to RB then I reckon Fletcher might get a midfield call-up.

C'mon guys - this should be a better team than played at the Bridge and we really have a great chance to win this.

Baby, just touch me anywhere
Cutie, you turn me on, ooh, baby
I’d like to run my fingers through your hair
So come on and stay with me all night

If there's a camera up in here
Then it's gonna leave with me

If there's a camera up in here
Then I'd best not catch this flick
