We do not have the right players for a 3-4-3, that much is obvious. We're trying to force square pegs into a round hole.
You could have ended the sentence as follows: We do not have the right players.
Had 4231 worked with these players under ETH he would still be manager. There’s no reason to believe that with the players we still have that the same setup would have worked under another manager.
Amorim is starting to squeeze good performances out of these players and it would be madness to abandon what is starting to work for him.
What we need, which nothing to do with 343 as such is the following:
Better finishing
Better defending on set pieces
A capable left wingback.
If we somehow tick all those boxes and we’re still swirling in the bottom half of the table we can have a conversation about sacking Amorim and binning his 343, but not now.
