COME ON! Let's do this!

just got hit with a massive excitement seeing them in the press conference.

its been a shit season with nothing to cheer about, lets enjoy this game! could be the last cl game at old trafford for a while. bring no negativity into it!

Wait, so Pep doesn't know whether he was offered the United job or not?
LOL...Pep is just being funny, humourous and of course being diplomatic. He respects the great man for sure and that's why they had a good time over dinner.

I'm quietly optimistic...that we won't get blown off the pitch. We'll lose the game of course, but I see a final score of 0-2 in the cards.

And we'll be treated to seeing the top two keepers on the planet.

 there was me thinking @Ole's_toe_poke made those quotes up for a joke

I have the feeling that Pep more and more shows the same humour as some of his players...

I do not know anything about his press conferences in Spain - and it sometimes is a problem to talk in a new language. But lately the answers of him (and he often had to answer English questions at the beginning of his time in Munich, too) often come out like this - and it was not like this when he came to Munich...

It's going to be like a battle in WW2 where Bayern have a squadron of 11 Tiger Tanks while United have 11 foot soldiers armed only with swords, led by General Moyes who still rides on a horse.

The Messerschmitts are on their way, dropping crates of vaseline :p

btw, Panthers ware better, Tigers used to break down... over-engineered

Attack, attack, attack!

---------Whoever-has-legs-and-is-available---------
----------------Carrick---------Fellaini----------------
---Valencia------------Giggs---------Welbeck--------
-----------------------Rooney-------------------------

de Gea
Jones--Smalling--Evans--Buttner
Fletcher--Carrick--Giggs
Valencia--Rooney--Welbeck

I would rather start Cleverley in the middle than Fellaini. At least I know Cleverley can keep the ball under pressure albeit sideways. It's better than losing the ball. But he is out injured unfortunately.

Do we know if any of the following players are fit: Smalling, Evans, Rafael? Is it crazy to suggest that we could play Jonny at left back if he's fit?

De Gea
Rafael Jones Smalling Evans
Carrick Fellaini
Valencia Giggs Welbeck
Rooney

I want Kagawa to start but I just know he won't.

Moyes didn't give much away in the press conference. Just said some defenders are injured. Rafael did not train yesterday, Evans did, no idea about Smalling.

Smalling and Evans trained while Rafael didn't. So I would assume that Rafael is out injured, although I heard he missed training as a precaution so not sure.

Yeah, I heard Rafa didn't train but was informed yesterday that he declared himself fit to play? I guess we won't know until about 6:45 tomorrow.

Just thinking, has there ever been such an obvious gulf in class between Manchester United and their opposition in the Champions League? I know Barcelona were untouchable in '09 and '11, but at least we were champions of England both years. Tonight we have the champions of Germany, the reigning champions of Europe, up against a side placed seventh in England and devoid of much confidence. I can't ever think of a game in which I held such confidence in losing.

Wayne has a litter pray in the physio room before games actually, I'd say there will be a queue out the door tonight!

I just hope its not going to be too humiliating. These players gave a lifeless performance against Liverpool and promised to turned it around for City, only to play much worse! Whats going to happen tommorow?

Good news for you if he is crocked - otherwise Ribery will tear him several new ones.

Hopefully we can pull off a shock. Doubtful, but Chelsea won the CL amazingly.

Believe!

Just stuck a fiver on Shrek to be our first scorer, and I have no idea why. I toyed with the idea of backing Bayern to win 3-0 at 10/1 but I couldn't bring myself to bet against United.

Well the experts at getting torn a new one have spoken, as novices in this department we should take a small crumb of comfort that the hope doesn't actually physically kill you.

Just rewatched 1999 and god damn it I am pumped. The players will be up for this hopefully. All Moyes has to remember for tomorrow is "Football bloody hell!"

The injury to Rafael may be a blessing in disguise for us, to be honest. Recently, he seems to have reverted back to his rash, irresponsible performances of a few years back and that's a serious liability against a team like Bayern. We'll need the perfect performance without giving away unnecessary fouls and potentially having someone sent off.

Irrespective of whether Rafael, Jones, Smalling or someone else plays right back, our biggest issue is going to be Buttner against Robben on the other side.

Further up the pitch, I really, really hope we start Kagawa - someone with the technical ability and creative spark to maybe carve out a chance from nothing. I also want to see Rooney right up top in a number 9 role, like he played in the 2009/10 season, but that needs to be complimented by playing Valencia wide right and Welbeck on the left, in an attempt to stretch Bayern somewhat.

If we had Sir Alex, yes. But we have David Moyes.

Hard to get motivated when you have a clown like him leading us.

Kagawa better not go missing in this game, even if he isn't creating space or picking out passes he should be tracking back and helping out defensively.

He played quite well in his last game against Munich. I'm expecting big things from our kagawa tonight. Not long to go now.
