does anyone else believe that we might shift to a 4-2-3-1 if we sign Angel Di Maria?
I really hope both these things happen
would love that tbh, have Rooney/Mata/Di Maria in behind RVP

Why is it that the only top players we seem to sign are either
1. No longer wanted by their clubs
2. Have a release clause
3. Coming to the end of their contract
I thought we are supposed to be the biggest revenue club in the world (or second to RM?)? We should be in that bracket also, especially with FFP.Because that's usually the only way you're going to sign top players unless you're Barcelona or Real Madrid, see Sanchez, Ozil, Fabregas etc.
I think that little fact has been overlooked conveniently by a lot of people.Kroos went to champions eague winner and the best team in the world currently, for the money and for the glory. We should try to snap him but we would loose anyway cuz he would have chosen them..
Fabregas - we tried to get him last year but he wanted to try his best at his beloved club, his possibly last season. It wasn't the right timing. This year Mourinho went for him and he did tell it himself - he wanted to work under him. They signed him at time that we havent got a manager yet.
Sanchez - we were never in for him, there is no reason to think otherwise. If we were he could have come to United. Anyway from the day one van Gaal went to United and got to know his players closely he decided to play with wingbacks so we were not in for wingers this window as we were always gonna play 3-5-2 with wingbacks. He would become another undroppable player upfront. and plus Arsenal have got ambition and are actually in champions league.
Vidal - he is the type of player we need but not sure if van Gaal already stated to Woodward to get him. I think he is gettable we just didnt bid for him yet because van Gaal didnt say so. We have all the money and attraction to get him.
di María - the same problem with sanchez he is not the player we need at first. He would be brilliant here but only if we get another CM and CB in order to play 4-3-3
I dont believe in all the bullshit tabloids come up with everyday altho there has to be some targets we are going for. I believe Van Gaals main targets are Hummels which is obviously unavailible and maybe we went for him and made some kind of gentlemen agreement with him getting after the season. We all know they would let players go for free just to keep them for another last season and hummels is not in his last years of contract, plays champions league football in front of 85 thousand fantastic fans in a club he loves. But I believe if we get to champions league we will have a chance and try to get him next season.
The second target IMO for van Gaals is Strootman that may be the case why he dont want to go for Vidal as he will want to ave strootman as his second B2B, dont see we we couldnt go for both.. even if we get both we would have 3 box to box in them and herrera which doesnt really matter IMO because we could find a system for them as they are all great players and should easily start ahead of other players in our midfield but still maybe van Gaal wants a little bit of balance, that is why I don't get why we are not in for some defensive midfielder. Hopefully we are but the papers haven't just yet discovered it and if we fail we will bring at least de Jong as anchor man.
Anyway I am staying optimistic, van Gaal seems to know what he is doing but the problem might be perhaps that there are very specific players we want and there are few which van Gaal identified and they also doesnt need to be easily gettable. We have seen that if Moyes was after Ronaldo and Bale it was never gonna happen. I am optimistic because I think if we were after Daley Blind or de Jong who I rate a little higher than Blind, we would have already got them, thats a sign that van Gaals know what he is doing and that we want only top tier players. And I dont see why are people so obssesed with woodward. He is the man who already brought Herrera, Shaw, Van Gaal, Mata, Fellaini. He didnt choose them he goes for the people he is said to go for, it is not his fault that he is said to go after Bale for example. if there is a player van gaals wants and told him to get him he will get him. He had done deals before very lucrative sponzorships we signed, it is always negotiating and he seems to make the most of it if he is said do the best to get him for whatever it takes he will do it and then it can only fail when the player doesnt want or the club wont let him go. It can happen and than its not his fault, it is not his fault if we dont sign a player we are not for either. That is all the examples you wrote down.
But we are also located in England, and worse: in Manchester. I know it might not make sense for everyone, but in some cultures family members (not only wife and kids, but parents, other relatives, ...) move with the player. And a lot of them want to live in a nice/warm country/city with great food, etc. Some additional money won't make too much a difference normally.I thought we are supposed to be the biggest revenue club in the world (or second to RM?)? We should be in that bracket also, especially with FFP.
Just rehashing bits from LVG's book interspersed with current news and rumours and presenting it as new information.Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal looking for rainbow warriors rather than fan-pleasing superstars

Sounds like it's the woman who conducts the press conferences. Doubt she knows anything as she can't even get our manager's name right.Belfast Telegraph:
And last night a club insider said: “Rojo is only the start. There’s more big deals on the way. Van’s angry.”
The Express as United linked with Alonso.
Come to their senses.Apparently the arrival of De Guzzman at Napoli mean that they won't be wanting Fellatio.

Maybe he told her to call him that.Sounds like it's the woman who conducts the press conferences. Doubt she knows anything as she can't even get our manager's name right.
I don't think he signs massive name players, he likes developing them. Everyone want loads of money spending, that might not be necessary. It's more the fact that money has been wasted. If money had been spent properly in the past we wouldn't be so stressed. LvG may have a lot better idea what is good for the team than we do. He knows exactly what is needed, so hopefully he will address those areas. It might not be a quick fix. It shouldn't have needed mending if people had done their jobs properly.Just rehashing bits from LVG's book interspersed with current news and rumours and presenting it as new information.

If there is nobody to do the dirty work and Herrera get kicked everytime we get the ball, we have no midfield. Herrera needs a protector.I can live without a new winger (we might play with none) or a left back cover (Rojo can play there), I cannot understand how we can go into the second game of season without a defensive midfielder. Carrick is our only option there and he won't be fit for a while, besides he'll soon be 34 and needs replacing as soon as possible. Herrera is not going to be as effective as he could be without someone to do the dirty work next to him and we're going to keep getting overrun in midfield by weaker teams. Not much time left in the window and I doubt we'll sign one but honestly, it's extremely weird that we haven't.
You have FOUR !I can't believe how we are going into the second game with only 3 centre mids. Even without the Carrick injury we should've had somebody else firmly in our sights. It's baffling.
Liverpool set to sign Balotelli, there goes the top four then, no way we can challenge them and the others now.
we need at least 1 more big name midfielder & defender but I fear Rojo was our last signing.
going to be another awful season lads, I fear under the Glazers we are now settling for being a top top 8 club.
You're just realising this? The signing of Balotelli didn't change that - they were already in front of us.
dunno, without a quality striker I could see them struggling, particularly later in the season, now even that faint straw isn't something we can clutch at.
well done Glazers for turning us from title winners every year to a team who won't come top four again for a long, long time.
They have Sturridge and no matter how match we don't rate him - he got over 20 goals last season. He's a good player. Balotelli doesn't change things for me. As I said, they were already a good bit in front of us.
By the way they were talking on Talksport about the Europa League tonight, that Spurs wanted to win it as it gives them automatic entry into the CL. They then said that if they did that and finished outside the Top4 and a English team won the CL and that team finished outside the Top4, only three other teams would get CL football. So Top3 might have to be a minimum. Can't see bothe scenarios happening mind you.dunno, without a quality striker I could see them struggling, particularly later in the season, now even that faint straw isn't something we can clutch at.

Sturridge got most of his goals in the first half of last season, I don't rate him when the pressure is on tbh, he is also very inconsistent in front of goal at times, Balotelli will easily outscore him imo.
either way, we are fecked without more signings, but like I said I imagine the club think Rojo is all we needed

What if we're actually done...
They don't care. In America there are no relegations, if you finish bottom you get the top draft pick. As long as the punters still pour in that is all that matters.I doubt that will happen tbh, it's all irrelevant though to us, our squad is not good enough to come top four and we all know it, the Glazers I fear don't care because we will make money from non-football sources instead, from their point of view we are still a cash cow even if we are only a top 8 team that refuses to invest properly in players.
