Its actually 15m Euros but Benfica gets only 6m since Madrid and a 3rd party receive the rest.

Strootman will be out for a long time until he will be able to start a match. He may be a target for next summer if he regains his fitness and shows the form he was in before he got the injury.
 
Imagine if we got Vidal, Sanchez, Herrera and Shaw. Just those four. We'd be swiftly back as title contenders.

I think improving the wide position greatly would be a huge plus, but to add another CM player along a sanchez, united are putting themselves right back in the thick of things. Because to have herrara mata and sanchez in your united midfield, with janazaj improving, the quality improves to another level of a mix of power technique and guile, it would be a scary prospect for our rivals. As we are replacing quantity with quality, but not being in the champions league does break our ankles

I agree with all the replies. Those four would be the minimum in some respects as to what we need. We really do need a fantastic summer. A "good one" just won't cut it.

Getting Herrera with LvG, and a center back probably and I think we'll be title challengers. He's a top manager, moyes was just shit, so he made everyone look worse then they are. Get those four and we'd be challenging for champions league title by 2 years IMO.

Good to hear we're after a CDM I'd be a little worried if Herrera was our only midfield signing his brilliant but our midfield is a mess.

Because I have to read and post this stuff for the Caf Facebook page. Otherwise I'd simply check the team list in September to see who we had signed.

Post the latest Guardian report Wibble, just popped up on my screen after your MEN one saying Athletico have rejected the bid....Another day Same old sense from the papers. Right back to lunch and my chicken wishbone. ;)
 
I believe if we get Shaw as suggested, and then sign a strong CB we could put a very strong challenge in for the title. Believe with what we already have we'd be well suited to compete with the leaders.

That being said, I'm not saying I don't want more transfers and believe we can strengthen further in other areas. Just think we could compete with that. Also, do believe we will be going after more players but just an opinion. I'm back on the positive train, let's hope it stays that way throughout the season and we are competing at those levels!!!

I believe we'll need another midfielder and winger to truely get going next season.

Add Depay, Khedira and a good CB signing (altho I struggle to think who) to Herrera and Shaw and we'll have a very sexy team for next season.
 
Apparently lots of posters including myself were concerned about whether players willingness to join us due to the fact we have no european football. However, as Herrera has proven, there are players who will want to give up playing european games just to join us.

I believe it is down to these factors:

1) Playing for Manchester United ( which is still and hopefully always will be one of the biggest club in the world)
2) LVG pull factor: A lot of players out there know what a manager he is and how he can bring the potential out of the players
3) Wage increase at least double their current wage
4) Playing in the Premier League: There is always a dispute where which league is the best in the world but players will like to try PL
5) Last but not least, United's fans are always one of the best in the world, plus playing at Old Trafford (Theater of Dreams) might be a factor too

Yes, you can sign players anytime as long as you have a bid accepted by the club first, before you negotiate with player and agent. The actual transfer doesn't take place before July 1st though.

For the Premier League it opens on the last day of the season, not July 1st.

Really? Didn't know that. So what was Moyes doing fecking off on holiday for the whole of June when he should have been concerning himself with transfers?

fecks sake, if LvG can provide instructions from half way round the World whilst coaching his team to the knockout stages of the World Cup, just shows you what a complete & utter waste of space Moyes was.
