Manchester United transfer news and rumours for summer 2014

Some talk of Hangeland on a free after he was released by Fulham. I'd imagine Fulham don't want a high wage earner on their books while in the Championship so it's not due to a lack of quality that he's been let go.

Of course he won't be our starting xi centre back target but he's experienced and brings strength in the air that we'll miss with Vida gone.

4-5 years ago maybe, but not now.

As much as

As much as Valencia has not been brilliant he is a very handy squad player to have and I would hate to loose him over the likes of Young Kagawa and Nani.

You mean actual footballers? Very strange.

He's only 32, that's not that old for a centre-back, don't forget Ferguson brought in Blanc when he was 35.

Hangeland works well with a pacey centre-back alongside him, Smalling and Jones are both relatively quick. He reminds me of Hyypia at Liverpool, he has no pace to lose anyway so he'd be useful for a couple of seasons and no risk.

It would be a rubbish signing, really. If we were going for anyone with experience I'd assume it could be Ron Vlaar, but even that would be shite.

FFFFFFF that!

Or Alex, it seems that he is out of contract this month.

I prefer it that way. The sequence of erection followed by blue-balled disappointment we got on a daily basis last summer is hell. I'd rather we said piss-all and just got it sorted quietly. I definitely think there's a chance of tone with van Gaal coming in,the leaks definitely seemed to have stopped.

Pointless move, we'll need to replace him within a year or two anyway and he's not even that good. Would be a useful purchase for other mid-table sides though.

I think a lot of players would of done the same in his situation.
We were tanking without trace at that point and he saw the chance to get away and took it, I am sure there are others who would of done the same, especially as his agent had been making noises virtually every transfer window for the past couple of years.

I dont think we have any chance of signing Hummels by the way, he is one of those players we should of moved for at the time, rather than waiting till he is worth eleventy billion pounds.

I don't feel sorry for Vidic at all. He chose to jump ship when the ship appeared to be sinking. Exact opposite of what a captain should have done.

Yeah same.

Was someone really suggesting Hangeland...because he has strength, that's what they said about Fellaini. No thank you.

So...anything positive happening anywhere for Utd? All very hush hush now....

I see loads of rumours but I don't bother posting them because it's pretty much all bullshit, no it's ALL bullshit.
Amen. I honestly think that we won't conclude any business for new additions until after the WC. Until then, the media/social networking bin lorries will keep dumping monster loads of steaming shiite on us.

Lot of rumours but I doubt anyone will be coming for a while. VG will need the first month to weed out the shit and see what he needs.
All this paper talk is just to fill space at the moment. There is nothing happening.

In regards to football, I've almost completely switched my thoughts to the World Cup. Can't wait for it. I'm even excited about some of the friendlies tonight. The last few weeks have been so frustrating with the constant bullshit media reports, but I think it will be great to put that all to one side for a month or so. I'm confident there will be several good signings, but we'll have to wait unfortunately.

Would love us to go after Eriksen, very underrated player this season. Was magnificent for Spurs.

I'm unconcerned with price at this stage, such is the state of our midfield.
You are right, you would pay pay top dollar for top surgery. Too much whingeing about 30m for Shaw, if we can afford it then just pay it! 12m for Stroot would have been a steal though!

we could have bought Stootman and Cabaye for less than a Fellaini - another 3 million or so and we could have added Ericksson and shipped out Ando for good

So apparently this is what Thomas Muller just said:

"I have arrived at a point where I want to know before the new season, if I'm a key component of future Bayern-Eleven. And if the club really plans with me in the next few years.'s why I'm going to look this conversation."

"I'm not the type who says: Well, now I've got going on here and a good role, but I keep my mouth shut and anyone can do to me what he wants."

Hangeland has been poor for two seasons now. He's a spent force who'll be very lucky to get a deal with a shit Premiership side, let alone a decent one. His old club FC Copenhagen don't even want him back.

Mueller is one player i would like here personally. I mean without even considering where he would fit, how much money we will spend on him, etc. I just really want him here, i think he will be a fantastic fit for PL.
He is actually the only player in that little "group" of mine.

Hangeland rumor is mad! Completely mad, this guy is easily much worse than any of our 3 younger CBs. Much worse. Maybe like 4 years ago, he stood a chance of making a Europa League or CL contender team. But since then he deteriorated, and i am not sure that even a solid middle table team would want him, maybe only a relegation fighter, that need to add experience to it's defense like Burnley.

Hangeland to United!

Fulham need to have a word with themselves though for firing a club legend by email. Amateurs.

Linked with Strootman in January, £30 million.
I would imagine Strootman is an absolute given, van Gaal loves him and he seems to think a lot of van Gaal, brilliant player though
