Diego Costa isn't confirmed is he? If we're going to take his transfer as a given then we might as well take our acquisition of Shaw as a given as well, both haven't happened but are apparently nailed on

The window doesn't open until the 9th June, does it? Interested to see if anything happens then, even announcement-wise.
Not including transfers within the Premier League though IIRC, that opened the day after the season ended.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not as Muppetised as I was last summer. It remains to be seen if he's a Colonel Kurtz of the football world, but I think Van Gaal has a plan and the kind of reputation which may see us capture players he will use effectively. I just don't think any of them are the "superstar" Woodward has a marketing boner for.

Van gaal is apparently at the Bosnia vs Mexico game going on right now, not sure who he's looking at or why though. Maybe kolasinac (even though he's not starting because of a knock..)?

Not really, Chelsea and Diego Costa is like 90% done, but could be hijacked though unlikely.......I'd say Utd and Shaw is at about 60% which is potentially lowering depending if Costa and one of Cesc/Koke swiftly go to Chelsea prior to any Shaw move. Something he's probably waiting on is Man Utd moving for other players that he's going to spend years with.

Seems Shaw still looks on, a few of the midfielders we dreamed over have been removed from our plans for one reason or another, assuming we get Shaw or a LB, we still need at least a box to box defensive mid and true centre mid, I don't think any of our summer signings are likely to be WC either

I know we want X amount of world class players this summer but the reality is that they're not coming. But Van Gaal is all about the team, not the individual, so whilst the people he does bring in this year won't necessarily be world class, they will make the team as a whole much better.

Woodward said we are going to do our business before the World Cup so there is another week yet - hold onto your hats! Not sure if 'our business' includes selling players as well or just the purchases.

Agree, people need a bit patience the transfers will come. Most of the world class signings muted wont be coming that's for sure. We need improved in certain positions without doubt but what we have got already in our squad is enough to get us in top 4 imo.
I would feel a lot more comfortable if those new players come in quickly while those who were deemed as Moyes' favorites (Young, Valencia, Fellaini) are sold alongside those whose respective futures are already sealed anyway (Anderson, Bebe, etc.). Our main problem can still be summed up in one word: midfield.

As much as Valencia has not been brilliant he is a very handy squad player to have and I would hate to loose him over the likes of Young Kagawa and Nani.
