Injury prone and would be a short-term gap stop sort of signing, things Woodward said we wouldn't be in for.
This is the word you turn to when you finally opt for something other than 'delighted'?!
All the ground work will be in place for a good summer window though. I'm expecting a lot more organised early approaches and business wrapped up in July.
I don't see where it would be problem if we activate the release clause from some players who would meet some of our needs. Of course, I'm thinking of players like Laporte and/or Reus. If that helps us getting players for something that would be more reasonable of a price tag compared to the overpaid price tag that might come following negotiation (see the Fellaini case), why not?
Agreed, Laporte, godin, reus and depay all have release clauses we can easily pay.
Depay doesn't have a release clause.
Think he means the Basel centre back, Schär.Stijn Schaar from PSV? He just came back from a knee area surgery and got injured again. Last prognose 4 days ago on psv.nl says he is out for several months yet again.
That Anderson bloke has quite a bit of pace and a nasty shot innit. I know it's only highlights but still. Whats his position? CM?
Certainly as pace about him.
Anderson Talisca
Is it so they don't have to print a new shirt?Because one Anderson isn't enough...

As long as he doesn't like Big Macs we should be OK.Another Anderson, attacking midfielder who may be converted to a CM.... plays in Portuguese league and is Brazilian....hmm lightening couldn't strike twice
Why?I'd prefer Garay to Hummels
Hummels is not in good form, he's a bit over rated. I don't think he'd solve our problemsWhy?
If Hummels is overrated, don't you think Garay is also overrated? I mean I haven't seen him much over at Zenit, but in the rare occasions I have seen him, I haven't been convinced. Do you watch him a lot? (Serious question)Hummels is not in good form, he's a bit over rated. I don't think he'd solve our problems

How much would Garay cost? Not every week but enough to think he's got the skillset we need, and would be available due to the Russian crisis.
Hummels for me us not worth the money it would take to get him. Plus he's not exactly been injury free himself.
But so was Rojo.... I don't really judge players based on their World Cup or Euro performances.Haven't watched Zenit much, but Garay was very good at the WC.

I doubt we'll sign any of those too anyway.
I don't want Hummels though, I don't think we should sign any defenders that have been out injured for more than 2 months in the past 12
The Russians paid 15 million for him I believe. Around the same, if not less should secure himHow much would Garay cost?

VlaarFor all the talk about Laporte, whom I would be glad if United activates his release clause, we are still in need of a right-footed CB who can be that rock at the back. If not Garay or Hummels, who would you suggest to fit the bill?

Hopefully a pacy attacker/dribbler (Bale) a midfielder leader (Khdeira, Stootman) and a experienced centre back (Hummels, Garray) and if Falcao steps up then make permanent. Get rid of Fletch, Anderson, Clev, Hernandez, Evans and possibly Fellaini. With this set of players we would be challenging on all fronts no doubt.
