Manchester United - January transfer window 2015 (twitter blacklist applies)

I thought it was, I understood the point was that we would lose him in the summer anyway for nothing. I am getting confused now.
I'm pretty sure Cleverly even said himself his contract was up in the summer so he had in reality left the club for good.United aren't getting any money here.

I thought his United contract was up in the summer anyway.

It is so feck knows what the clause to buy is for when he could just wait till March and sign for other clubs on a free which means he'll get a better deal for himself. No chance we'll get owt for him.

Yeah. As so often happens, the club don't get enough money for transfers out.

Not to beat a dead horse, but do I hope Tom does us a favor and lowers his wage demands so that some club (Everton ?) can make a decent offer to buy him in January for £4-5 million. Otherwise we'll lose him for free in the summer. Maybe Zaha for £10-12 million too ? He doesn't seem to be an LVG type of player, good luck to the lad and let him continue with his career at a club where he'll be an important player while he still had some transfer value. Vermijl ? Ben Amos ? Those two are stagnating at United and would do look elsewhere for the sake of their careers and first team opportunities. Other than that, I don't suppose anyone else will be let go. Young and Valencia have done well in limited squad roles, so it wouldn't make much sense to offload them just yet. A couple of the young ones might leave on loan, but that'll probably be it.

No way we are going to get our money back for Zaha. He hasn't even impressed back at Palace from what I gather, we could maybe get £4m for him because he is English, other than that there is not much worth there. Ditto Cleverley, he will leave for nothing at the end of his contract and that will be the end of his United story. We could maybe fetch something for Evans who could go if he keeps playing like this, we could trick a club like Sunderland into a £10m bid.

Most of the players who will be shipped out in the summer we won't get much for, unless someone unexpected goes like Fellaini.

I don't think anyone would even pay much £££ for our defenders.

I was watching the Atletico vs Villarreal game tonight that I recorded from the weekend and during it Gerry Armstrong mentioned that he had heard we were going to make a big bid for José Giménez. He's 20 in January and apparently has played more times for Uruguay than Atletico, he kinda looks like the Uruguayan Phil Jones from the pics I saw but Armstrong reckons he's a special talent, I guess the big question is, is he left footed.

Don't think we need Koke at all.

We need one more CM in that mold IMO, a strong and technically gifted box to box midfielder as I think Rooney will be the other #8 with Carrick and Blind rotating as the holding CM behind them.

Koke would cost £47M alone.

i forgot to add the Mancunian tax...

Don't think we need Koke at all.

maybe is not a priority, but he would be an upgrade on all our current midfielders. His end product is something Ander Herrera can only dream of. fecking Koke can deliver a pinpoint pass to RVP from anywhere on the pitch.

Ezequel Garay should be our priority in January. I can't understand how we didn't sign this guy in the summer but instead went to Portugal for Rojo. Garay would have brought the kind of stability we need at the back, he has that leadership and organizational skill that is lacking, he can play as well, and most importantly, he doesn't get injured after every 2 weeks.

Forgot where Garay was actually and with the arse gone from the Russian economy it would be a fine time to buy him, worst case scenario is we pay exactly what they paid which was only £12 million.

Vlaar would fit in well here but not in a good way.

Played three games, then was out injured for four, then was back again for four, then was out injured for four again, then came back in the last game. This is the sort of pattern he's established over his time at Villa.

Now imagine what he'll be like after he gets hit by our CB curse....

Signing Vlaar would hit me hauntingly hard on several levels.

Would NOT erectionalize me.

We wont sign Vlaar. Usual Dutch link. He's not good enough simply put.

Problem I have with Vlaar is that he is already injury prone as is.

He'll probably injure his arm while signing the contract or something. (if we do ever sign him)

 This is the word you turn to when you finally opt for something other than 'delighted'?!
