Toby Alderweireld supposedly has a £25M release clause in his contract - got to be worth an inquiry in January...
Both him and Van Dijk allegedly.

Who is going to pay the wages for these players? Maybe United will agree to subsidize part of their wages in order to get them off the books. But, otherwise, who wants to pay Ashley Young, a winger with no end product who hasn't played consistently for several years, 110K per week? Or Schneiderlin, a pretty good but nothing special DM, 100K per week? Or Memphis, a kid who has proven nothing in England, 90K per week? Premier League clubs have lots of money now but these would still be the highest earners on clubs like Everton, Palace, Soton, etc. They just aren't good enough to merit that, even if they came on a free.
I think you are underestimating the power of the mighty greenback, he will go to the team that pays him the most given a choice between historically strong teams.
I think Nainggolan would be the perfect January signing if we could off load the two Sch's and Depay.
Seems perfectly suited to the English game as well.
He wouldn't play ahead of Pogba or Herrera. It's a playmaker to replace Carrick we need not a box to box powerhouse.
It also wouldn't surprise me to see Young get another years deal, he's a good utility man who's clearly happy with his squad role within the club.
We've always been a flavour of the month type of the club....specially with players who perform particularly well against us.So, fans want us to sign the flavour of the month who has a few good months in his locker?
Am I missing something here?
You're spot on. I'd like Morgan and Memphis to get more chances but its not gonna happen. So why have we got them sitting on the bench when we could get fees? I'm sure Schneiderlin would have a few buyers interested. Arsenal and Spurs wanted him before. As much as I'd like him to be a regular starter alongside Pogba, I wouldn't mind selling him if it meant getting someone like Matuidi in.I can't see why we wouldn't offload Memphis and Schneiderlin in January, especially if the deals are permanent, neither feature in the squads most of the time, it's just money for nothing. If Watford want Young for a reasonable fee then I think it's the right time for him to move on as well. It will be the summer before Fellaini, Darmian and Rooney get sold.
He still has 1,5 years left in his current one.
Would allow use to rest Pogba/Herrera in EL though, and would be great asset off the bench in big games.
Could also play Herrera deep instead of Carrick and press very high with their energy in a similar style to the Scousers.
Was that actually confirmed as signed?
I'm not sure it was.
I think Mourinho would be happy to keep him as a back up attacker, good eye for a goal and generally positive forward passing. You guys think Mata will be sold? With Mourinho slowly transitioning to 4-1-4-1 and 4-3-3 (basically the same formations TBH) and Mikhi finding his footing it will be ever harder for Mata to be anything other than a squad player.
Also i guess we will also look to sign 1 more quality right winger.
Also don't think we will see much of Blind in the future as well since he isn't getting game time in important games on LB even with Shaw injured.

In regards to Blind its strange he's not getting a look in at CB or LB.
I'm not sure what will happen with Mata but I wouldn't be surprised to see Blind go, he's now down the pecking order behind even Darmian for LB and not really in with a sniff at CB.
Dunno what will happen to Mata if we get another winger that will have an advantage over Mata. Will Mata want to stay with us knowing his playing time will be extremely limited?
Regarding Blind i really wouldn't be surprised to see him go in favour of keeping Darmian since Mourinho clearly rates him, for now.
If nothing radical changes till January, I suppose at least Fosu-Mensah (loan), Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Memphis should be out.
It's outrageous that Darmian seems to be preferred over Blind or Shaw.
We might get a mini indication of what will happen with Mata tomorrow, with us almost certain to go back to 4-2-3-1 with Carrick returning to the bench, Mata should be in at #10 or RW ahead of either Rooney or Lingard, we shall see.
I could see both Darmian and Blind going come the summer, I don't think either have enough at both ends for Jose's liking, and they are both players that will want to be regulars for their international ambitions.
Oh Mata will certainly play tomorrow. Mikhi is injured and Carrick just played on Sunday for 90 mins so i agree we will go for 4-2-3-1 with mata on the right.
But in long term we are definitely going for 4-3-3 without number 10, with pacey wingers so i really don't see Mata staying with us, especially since Lingard will be staying since he's a homegrown player.
Just to clarify it, regarding Mata and Blind whatever happens will wait till summer OFC. In January i can only see us bringing back CBJ (Mourinho stated his unhappy with the way Wolverhampton are handing his loan) Depay and Schneiderlin will probably go out and Schweinsteiger maybe as well.
Blind nominated. Since we dropped him out of regular starting back four, our defence has become more solid, our results has kept improving. I still think that Blind is not a good defender, his good passing skills work best only at registra position. And he lost all my hope when he had an opportunity playing at his best position against Dortmund last summer, may be Mourinho's hope too. Then if Mourinho doesnt have intention playing him at midfield, Blind should be sold.
And Memphis's time must be ended. Had better place our No.7 shirt in traditional room rather than let it disappear like this moment
Sorry that's the biggest load of bull crap
Blind is a fantastic defender. He reads the game very well better then anyone in our squad. You never see him sliding for wild challenges because he's 2 steps ahead of anyone. It's crazy how people can forget how good our defence was when him and Bailley were starting.
Ya 2 mistakes directly lead to 2 MC goals, how super cool reading skills and 2 steps he had ahead were while he let Pedro easily pass over right at minute one. These were 2 big crucial matches, imagine which position we would have now at PL without his individual mistakes, it is truly biggest load of bull crap and i wouldnt sorry about it, stop BLINDing for nothing
Scweinsteiger, Depay & Sneiderlin are all defo moving on in January, that should be it until the summer for me. I'd then expect Fellaini, Darmian and possibly Rojo moved on as well, as good as Rojo is playing at the moment, I still feel he's on borrowed time at United and doesn't truly fit the profile of a United player. It wouldn't surprise me if Carrick gets another years contract, then that only leaves the question marks over Rooney, I doubt he will be happy playing from the bench each week.
The first three players don't really need replacing as the squad is bloated as it is, Fellaini, Darmian, Rojo and possibly Rooney will all need replacing. I suspect we will see at least one signing in January and three major signings during the summer.
It also wouldn't surprise me to see Young get another years deal, he's a good utility man who's clearly happy with his squad role within the club.
I dunno, Shaw hasnt been great since the injury, seems to have put on a bit of weight as well last time I saw him.
I suspect - and may be wrong - that even if he has been better than Darmian, Mourinho has set the bar much, much higher than being better than being mildly pressed and then bursting into tears before booting the ball directly at the nearest opposition player. But still beter than Darmian who has never been great since signing for United
