Yeah, he's a hard man alright...Nice try Ed. Had me till "mixes affability with ruthlessness"
I really hope the club aren't doing that most pathetic of things: sending messages to the manager via the press.

Another briefing?
Another briefing?
Yep. Sounds typically Ed. "Look Ma, I am tough".
And also implies that Jose is starting Bailly-Lindelof because Woodward accused him of not utilizing the 2 CBs he already bought. Not really good if the manager is picking players for the starting XI out of compulsion.
OMG! They wouldn’t do that would they?Yeah, he's a hard man alright...

Maybe the rest weren't available ?
Cos he is too humble. We're lucky to have himWhy did they miss out that he needs only two hours of sleep a night and that he can impregnate a woman from three feet away?

Jose will not be crying. Have you seen the payoff he'll get?The Essex boy done good, and when within the next three months Jose throws his toys out of his pram and goes crying back to London he may get the credit he deserves....
Is that the new "no value in the market" ? We're playing with a 30 years old AMF in rignt winger, not sure spending whatefer it takes to bring a right winger even if he's Willian to cover this position wouldn't have been better than puttig this money into their pocket. If they felt he doesn't deserve to spend on, they could have went and asked Mourinho for other targets on the right.
What they did was they refused to spend anything, on Willian or CB and kept the money in their bank account. Unacceptable from any fan whoever the manager is.
Next season we will have loads of players with their contracts running out and we'll be in a big problem after this ridiculous summer.
I agree in principle but I would never jeer our manager no matter how bad things get. This guy should be mercilessly taunted every time he shows his smug face at old Trafford. Might trigger some sort of action. Judging by his latest dictated guardian article his ego might not take it
If ed is behind this latest story questioning Jose's mental health, then we really have reached a new low.
Even if you believe the story you don't raise that in public. Sick of Woodward!

Don't give them clicks. No one believes Jose is in a mentally weakened state or Woodward is spreading stories like that.Provide links, bud.

Thought at the time of the briefings after deadline day that Ed pushed a lot of unhappy fans focus from Mourinho onto himself and the owners. And since then it seems to be snowballing.
He's brought all this on himself & basically derailed the whole season because he stupidly gave Mourinho a contract extension 8 months ago, then a few months later decided not to back that man, which has led to all this mess.
Just a comedy of errors from Ed.

Is it only in the Guardian? If it is only from one source then its probably bullshit. If ed is behind this latest story questioning Jose's mental health, then we really have reached a new low.

Woody has been nothing short of a disaster in transfer dealings, he has struggled to get in players for Moyes, LVG and now Jose so it would be best if we hired a DoF and he could just concentrate on the commercial side.
He clearly said in one of his pressers he wanted 2 but is expecting 1 to come, assuming this 1 to be a CB which we failed to land what would have been the second one then ?
Again, there's no problem not paying 75m for a player if you're willing to save this money to spend it on someone else. What we did is we refused to spend on either Willian or a CB to put this money into Glazers bank account, how can any fan appreciate that ? It's not like we benefited from this money we had "saved".
Hired moyes and made a horror show of the window. (Yes he hired moyes, he can't claim credit for good and plead group effort when bad. He was the boss)
Hired van gaal. Had haphazard approach to back v sack. Then did the latter in an incredibly ungracious way.
Oversaw two years of nonsensical transfer strategy. Signing a mixed bag of young players, world stars and over the hill players on crazy salaries. There was no clarity at all.
Gave mourinho mammoth mid season contract only to pull rank when it came to backing him.
Happy to whore united to everybody who is paying and have a more public appearance than id want from a director.
Generally has done an atrocious job at football for 5 years.
Getting away with murder
Proof ?

This club is weird and it's not just Woodward. Just take the first DOF/DOFO briefs, they came from the club but it made no sense and they gave enough details to allow people to actually see that it was nonsensical. If you don't remember they briefed that the club wanted to modernize its structure by adding someone that would basically have no determining influence. Now they are briefing that they want someone that will have a determining influence, they brief everything and its opposite in a very blatant way.
Didn't Moyes complain that he wasn't able to get the players he wanted, we now Mourinho saying the same thing.

Well it only makes a difference if manager is changed as well. Jose is not a happy bunny, just sack him and move on with a dof and and a coach who can get best out of what we got?In theory a DOF makes a huge difference by working on two things, create a coherent and balanced squad, bring a manager that fits the squad.
There were also reports on how Moyes didn't make decision quickly to sign players.
Van Gaal also said he didn't want Di Maria after getting sacked but before Di Maria was signed, he said he wanted wingers like Di Maria to play 4-3-3.
Everyone wants to run away from taking responsibilities for their failures.
