Malcom

I'd rather go for skill and potential.

He looks very good to me and our resident French football expert @JPRouve seems to rate him highly. So on the basis of a few clips and the views of a poster, I'm picking Malcom.

I don't rate him particularly highly, at this point he is just a young player with potential.

I hope the kid goes to arsenal, if he works out he could join us in 4 years on a free.

How do you think he compares to Bailey. I think Bailey looks more dynamic.. reminds me abit of Douglas Costa/Ze Roberto.

Personally, I have been very impressed with what I have seen of Bailey, he looks to be such an exciting player.

Sorry, I don't really know Bailey but from the little I have seen Bailey is shiftier. In terms of style Malcom is a bit like Bale the inside forward, obviously Bale is on an entirely different planet in terms of level.

If Mourinho wants him he’s not going to be beaten to it by Arsenal of all clubs. If he joins Arsenal then it’s because we don’t want him.

His club Bordeaux lost 6 consecutive games and it's not impossible to see them relegated at the end of the season.

Given the context, I think the president is honest when he said it was impossible to sell him this winter.

Next summer, he will move for sure.

With all this World-Cup-motivation talk, wouldn't his best interest be to stay at Bordeaux the whole season to get picked for the World Cup team?

I think who ever signs him will loan him back to bordeaux in january.

M.E.N adamant we're not interested but a journalist in France told the Sky podcast we are...

Arsenal and spurs interest, looks like our name was again used to suss out a buyer.

Silly move, I'd rather play under Pochettino given how much he's improved Alli etc. Also Wengers contract is up after next season.

I am reading a lot of places that this is Wenger's last season and the club have lined up Ancelotti.

When was the last time Arsenal and Arsene significantly improved a young player?

Getting info on our forums that we are very intrested in this kid and have made a bid. Seems though that he has chosen the scum over us.

I posted this in the Sanchez thread, but my random theory is that since Arsenal are now favourites for Malcom, perhaps Jose agreed to let Arsene have a free run at signing him, if we get Sanchez.

Jose was apparently very interested in Malcom, yet our interest has now 'cooled' if reports are to be believed.

They'll be throwing higher wages at him given that Sanchez and Walcott will probably be off and Ozil, Wilshere in the Summer. That means they have lots of free wages floating about.

I am all for buying a young talent but we already have 2 in our first team in rash ford and martial and add to that we have some huge talents like chong and gomes coming through. I prefer some experience over youth in our attack now. One who can be a game changer.

Fair, but then again, assuming neither Arsenal nor Spurs are his long term goal, if he goes to Spurs he'll be much less well paid and will have a chairman who just won't sell him if it doesn't suit him to.

That would be stupid by us.. If we have scouted him and believe that he can make the step up,then not signing him because we are getting Sanchez is a wrong way to go.. We don't have much depth for the right wing anyway and even if we get Sanchez, the kid can have time developing without pressure here..

I think we should go for players like Ozil and Sanchez in the moment. Its not the right scenario to bring young players in my opinion.

Only need to see how Martial and Rashford get slaughtered by the fans when they have some bad games.

Maybe we weren't all in on him. Maybe it was just someone we liked and have used that to our advantage

Ya that would be the case mostly wouldn't it.. We monitored him but decided not to for it..

The msg I posted was going on about us voluntarily backing off, to push Wenger in giving us Sanchez.. For all we know,we might back off to let Wenger to sign him and then Sanchez might decide that he wanted to join City after all.. In other words,I think the theory of us letting Wenger have a free run at Malcom in exchange for Sanchez mostly has no basis..

sounds like: "I'd like to play in a team where I can do what I want express myself without having to track back my creative instincts curbed and where I can live the london instagram lifestyle like a boss there is a good team spirit.

Why would anyone want to play for wenger these days.

Because he's still excellent for young players?

It literally says on the tweet you quoted, he is looking for the guidance of Wenger. Also why would anyone want to play for Liverpool these days?
