Too many signings haven't come off. Yeah some lineups and tactics have been questionable but that'll be the case no matter who is in charge.

His business in the transfer markets is what's really ruined his spell here.

Can't believe the people who think you must support LvG until he's gone just because he's the manager. He's fecking clueless. No single person is bigger than the club and if you want it to do well then this guy being gone is a good start.

I can't believe Ed Woodward hasn't got any United supporting mates who haven't had a serious word with him and threatened to punch him in the face if LVG is still here next season. It's just blatantly obvious to everyone he needs to go and the man responsible with deciding seemingly can't.

No one wanted it to be like this but we need a change next season or the clubs rapid fall from grace will continue, if that isn't clear to the chief exec running the show it's a huge concern. The decision not to pull the trigger back at the end of the year has backfired massively and now we will have to potentially watch City and Liverpool in Europe next year at our expensive, what a nightmare season.

It's all too late now but the ramifications of missing out on europes top competition can't be salvaged by winning the FA Cup.

This

This is insane logic.

It's like being shot and then refuse to go the hospital because that would mean confirmation you're fecked.
What? On the day he's appointed I won't be hoping he's gone before the 3-5 years he is signed up for because it means Manchester United will have failed. Moving forward and if his football, signings and antics turn out to be the shitfest I imagine they'll be, I won't go into 'lose for the greater good' mode like some on here have done happily. I certainly won't be hoping Manchester United miss out on whatever silverware or tournament qualification they're chasing (if any) in the blind hope he gets sacked.

He is the front runner for the job. Even with that, you have at no point said that you will offer him support when he is manager. Just that you will not actively want him to lose games. That's not support.

Surely if you berate us for not supporting Van Gaal(and you have not only had a go at those that dy that want him to lose),then you'd practise what you preach with Jose.

United ,United is the team for me. I won't support the manager though. I just won't want him to actively lose.

It's not the Jose hate or your undying support for Van Gaal that is the problem. It's the hypocrisy
If he becomes the manager, my support of Manchester United and wanting them to succeed won't change. Despite the 'bending over' comments I have no interest in only supporting the club if a certain manager is in charge in the same way I don't with individual players being in the team or employees in the Megastore getting overtime.

Well, that's fair enough. I took it as meaning you don't want him out before his contract expires regardless, which is what your stance on LVG seems to be.

But sure, at the beginning of his tenure - yes, I have no issue with that. It's the attitude I'd expect from anyone - regardless of who is appointed, even if it's Giggs.

I just read that Van Gaal ended our interest in Sanches

He's going to be here next season isn't he? Unbelievable.

Of course transfers played a major part but his refusal to adapt to his environment has done more damage. His selections have had an impact too like the freezing out of Young, persisting with shit like Rojo over impressive kids and his refusal to blood in Perreira who could have given us more flair in the last few weeks. Combine his stifling style and in game management its a wonder we are still in fifth.

The biggest problem IMO regarding LVG is that he isn't receptive to the happenings of the game. He has Giggs as his assistant, Has himself seen WHU's style for last 2 years. THen why wouldn't you start TFM and Lingard. It was evident Mata was struggling and while he was better in 2nd half, Mata should have been either started centrally or been subbed after seeing that he wasn't effective.
Then there is Herrera's and Blind's performance. THose two were especially poor- Herrera more so IMO. Herrera should have been subbed the second we scored our 2nd goal as it was obvious that he was giving far too many FKs one of which the managed to score from. Blind was struggling as well. Why not sub these guys instead of Valencia

It's alarming the reports about LVG vetoing the Sanches transfer as it implies he'll still be here next season.

He vetoed shit. Can't believe people buying into this.

You don't watch player 20 plus times and veto the transfer. It's clear Sanches chose Bayern and we trying to save face.

Is there any ? , there is so that think he will stay for the last year of his contract

I've noticed a handful of half hearted defences that pop up after every half decent result. I've also noticed that the amount of people that've voted for "Sack him at end of season" seems to have fallen over the last month or 2 as if Stockholm syndrome has taken hold.

Top-four fight still on
"Still in the last match of the season we can pass over Manchester City. They can lose and we can win - then we are fourth. In this league it happens a lot [surprise results] and Swansea City are on a very good run. But we have to beat Bournemouth and that's also tough."

I'd say he's two slices short of a sandwich, but that would be kind to Van Gaal and a disservice to Sandwiches every.

He's a few fences, wardens, trainers, keepers, a plot of land and all the animals away from a Zoo.

Even if he goes now it's gonna be like, great, thanks for waiting until he'd completely fecked up our year and spurned the numerous chances to get safely back into the top four, which would still have been underachieving. Great job guys.

Nobody thought it could get any worse or better than the day Moyes was sacked, but LVG might surpass that relived feeling in me, because not only are we on the brink of finishing 5th or lower(8th) in his 2nd season, but we have done it while playing the some of the worst football in the country. Yeah, we can win the FA cup but I highly doubt that would have bought Moyes more time had he won it and I highly doubt the fans would have stopped calling for his head. I'm actually convinced we'd be in a better place on the pitch right now had we kept him, but that doesn't mean we should have. LVG is just that bad.

If it means LVG getting the feck out of this club then I'll take another year of being out of champions league. at least it'll be a silver lining.

There's no possible way he can stay on. Yet, I fear him getting cheered against Bournemouth and a summer of waiting for a sacking that never happens and being linked with players we have no chance of signing. As bad as this season has been, the summer could be worse.

Yep..

I absolutely loathe him. I haven't heard an interview from him in weeks because I can't stand listening to him anymore.

A must win game and we manage only 3 attempts on goal. Absolutely sums his time here.

Piss off Van Gaal you useless old tosser, get away from my beloved club and stop treating it like asshole

I really don't think I can physically or mentally endure another season with both of these men in charge - meaning Woodward or LVG.

I simply cannot stand looking at Woodward's imbecile face another moment. I don't care how much he's made for this club or what actually he does, he is in charge of this whole mess; it is equating to feck all on the pitch and he looks quite stupid in doing it. I don't care if we make 40 trillion per year on toaster endorsements, I want a chairman who looks like a chairman and is overseeing a club where wealth appears to have a direct impact on the product that we're paying money and investing time to see every week.

To even consider having LVG for another season, to me, is really beyond the pale as far as accountability is concerned. This was a season where literally every top club tripped up big time - especially Chelsea - and we are still going to finish outside of the top 4. If he stays on despite this, then there are truly no standards left for this club at all, except for how much cash we're bringing in from month to month.

I've had days where I was pissed off with the club - quite a few in recent times - but today was when I genuinely felt embarrassed to be a fan of United. Our history certainly counts for something but as the days pass I feel more and more like I'm witnessing a passing circus than a football club. What are we doing arriving to London late AGAIN after already showing up late for Spurs? Why do we look so unprepared for such a major game like this? Where has the United gone that dug down and saw out leads late in the game? I'm close to saying that today really rammed home the point to me that the old United at some point died. The spirit and the backbone are just not there anymore and I can't say what could bring it back.
