The only problem with his comments are that he is using it as an excuse. I couldn't care less if he knows de Gea is a title Winner or not.

Ugh, utterly pathetic to try and use that as an excuse even if it were the case. The fact that the majority of the senior players are title winners makes it twice as pathetic.

We're pretty much just talking Martial, Darmian, Shaw, Schneiderlin and Herrera who haven't won a major title. Two of whom are 20 years old so that label isn't even relevant. They also all happen to be players he signed.

Why do the journalists at press conferences never call him on this shit? They just let him move on to the next rancid mouth fart with no questions asked. Surely calling him out on his crap will get him to react and give them a story about him cracking up at least.

What a complete bellend, obviously so many of the Leicester squad are used to being champions aren't they LVB, Jesus he makes my blood boil!

It's still the daily mirror.
if it is a real, I dont care what rag it is printed in
Here's the video if anyone wants to see him give a series of excuses.

FFS does he even know his own players , the press must of been pissing themselves when he came out with this shite.
This press conference proves he does not have a clue about the club history or his players achievements .

The clown must be sacked no later than the final whistle blows to end a season of rancid performances.

The guy has a screw loose. I've long stopped getting upset with the shite he comes out with. He's a salesman but no one is buying.

I think a bit is getting lost in his language barrier (not defending him), jesus christ though. Completely the wrong man for our club and has no idea how to manage the press in this country, everything he says is just so literal and dry. If I hadn't switched off psychologically since the middle of last season this would really boil my piss.

He's talking absolute bog.

"Leicester City have had it easy this season. For a club like Leicester City it is much more easy to buy players,' Van Gaal said.
Also the pressure of the transfer of players is less big and also the pressure on the players to perform is less big. So it is a big difference.'

'We have played a lot of matches – only Man City and Liverpool have played more. We have played many more matches and in spite of all the injuries we are still there.'

'We are still in the first five - last season we were in the first four"

I honestly give the feck up!

Basically, your argument is weak as feck. It's a direct quote from LvG but, because the poster took it from the Daily Mirror's site, your argument is that we should ignore it because it's the mirror?!

It's an utterly stupid thing to go and say on LvG's part. Any defence of it is laughable

Loves the philosophy does SalfordRed1960, bloody loves it
LVG said exactly what half the caf have said over the last 2 months, so therefore we should bash him. By all means bash him for the lack of entertainment , but seriously feck all wrong with what he said. 2 years ago we were saying exactly the same thing when Liverpool nearly won the league. Same side, no other comps ...etc. in fact, he should have been asked why United didn't do same thing last year. And YES love the philosophy.

 We really are scraping the barrel if we are suggesting that is a press conference in which to bash him.

Not really. He should have swatted up on all this before he even got here. It's not like need have to delve that deep to know who won what. It would be forgiven if he misspoke to the fact of a title out of five but to not know Rooney and Carrick have won it a substantial amount of times makes me wonder if he did just come here for a last payday.

Keep scraping mate. You'll get there eventually. Sooner if not later.

So we should defend him because he hasn't a fecking notion about what his current players have won?

For a guy who is apparently mad into details, it's a ridiculous thing to say. How exactly do you think the players will feel after hearing it?

Agree to a point, but like I said in a previous post only 7 of the squad have won the league with United. Most once or twice, and many are not first team players. So his comment about most not being serial league winners is not inaccurate. Sure we can add Mata, Schwienie and Depay, but different teams, different culture.

Agree he should have known who had won what, but his point still stands that he doesn't have a squad with a serial winning mentality.

Well, if that's the case, whose fault is that?

Rooney and Carrick have won 5 leagues and a CL and two league cups
De Gea has won a league title, plus an under age championship with Spain and is the best keeper in the world
Valenica has 2 leagues and a league cup
Schweinsteiger has 8 leagues, a CL and a World Cup
Smalling and the sick note have a league title each
Blind has a few Dutch titles
Mata has a CL, Europa League, a World Cup and a European championship

They are winners! Of the highest caliber! Just look at what they've won! The likes of Darmian, Depay and Schneiderlin I can accept though.
I wouldn't trust them to sharpen a pencil

Fair enough I think there's an argument for either end. But if his record had been better it wouldn't be an issue. (that's another argument either for our against the initial argument though)

It is hardly an issue buying players that have not previously won anything. We would not have players like Shaw and Martial if that was buying criteria. I am not defending his choice of players, though I personally do not have an issue with who he bought, it is obvious most have not taken to Depay, Rojo, and Darmian.
The point I initially responded to was with the video, it was being presented as a list of excuses by LVG which is hardly true.
As for facts on players, you can rattle off the titles of the players, however, I would hazard a guess that the majority of fans, including me, are not walking around with Rooney and Carrick have won 5 PL titles or Schwienie won 8 titles with who ever he has played for in their heads. If I want that info I can do a search. Is it really something to get high and mighty about. In other threads there are loads of so called facts presented by caftards which turnout to be incorrect.

Well, it's not incorrect. They've all won those trophies.

Sorry but, I can't see how LvG can be defended after saying Rooney and Carrick "might" have won more than one title and that De Gea never won it.

In this case, I believe it is something to get the hump over it. I'd expect the manager of my club to know everything about the players.

Anyways, there'll be another shit storm in a few days time

Are you upset that he didn't mention the other winners?

Your right, I am sure post Sunday, if not Sunday, there will be a whole shit storm when Jose isn't announced as predicted by the ITKs.

Nope...I'm annoyed he had to mention it in the first place. It was unnecessary and he got his facts wrong, making himself look like a tit.

Mourinho won't be announced

And that's because of what?
The players Fergie bought over the years were they serial winners? No, he instilled that belief into them and the team. To use that as his excuse just goes to highlight his own incompetence.
