I might be wrong but isnt that vichai something guy from thailand the owner of Leicester? He's a billionaire...

I might be wrong though.

Yea he is one, networth 2.9 billion dollars, but was that the reason why they won the league? it is like the glazers, its just been a freak this season. Why did I make the statement I will be cheering on Leicester? not just its a great story, but? if we get 4th and get CL it means another year of VG, no thanks. That statement I made VG has driven me to that point, what is the saying, to make a better world it means ripping the old one down. I wish we could see a change in chief executive, but the only realistic is VG gone. If we get 4th, VG stays on, does anyone even see improvements? its going to be the same old, struggling to make 4th, out of Europe already and cannot put together a title challenge.

Can't believe it's gone from 81 odd percent down to 71%. Wow fans are fickle, turn on a penny!

Well there are many who consider themselves true United fans who don't want to sack a manager every two years. Grabbing on to whatever sliver of positive results to justify having LVG stay, all evidence (that this season has been grossly unsatisfatory) to the contrary.

Wait hold up, there's posters who actually want us to lose this?

I can understand if we were sitting at 12th and Leicester were still in a close title race with Shitty or Liverpool, but considering we're still in contention for top 4 and Leicester have pretty much all but won it, you lot need to have a word with yourselves.

It's strange to be hoping for a loss based on something you have no idea about. Bet you'll feel real stupid if we finish top four and still sack him. Or if our following season is wrecked by having to play Thursday-Sunday. Or if we lose out on a transfer target since we have no CL football to offer.

I suppose it's a case of some believing a small hit leads a longer gain?

For me I want us to win and beat them. However, I don't want a boring tedious draw. So first we win.......but if we don't/can't - then I'm quite happy for Leicester to win and put this season to bed finally and move on.

I hope I do feel stupid, as I do not want another year of VG. But? it is not set in stone if we are even going to cut VG. I do think the board will keep VG if we get top 4, as there is divide among the board. Half do not want Mourinho, half do, and I do think there is clamor for giggs to takeover that I do think is strong with some. Look if VG is sacked if we make top 4, that is fantastic, but nothing will surprise me with united these days. I think its pretty bad he is driving. I want fans to say how stupid and idiotic are you if we make top 4, and VG is sacked, as united gain from this

Goodness knows why, legend that he is, he has been part of the problem for two years.....

If you believe all that then you should also believe reports saying we've already agreed a deal with Mourinho. None of us know anything at this point; you're just assuming worst case scenarios to be fact. Guess you want us to lose the FA Cup as well?

Contradiction I want united to win the FA Cup, I just want VG gone. I just think VG's career hinges on a top 4, its a gut feeling not giving facts

It seems one way or another they will get their way, almost getting it out of their system. And the big worry if giggs takes over, will we see far more leniency from the another power struggle. I hope not, but I worry there will be leniency if giggs fails

News for you, it's either gonna be another year of him, or his assistant is appointed. Regardless of what happens.

Fantastic, the board know their stuff. In a way I should hope we make the top 4, as we will know the board's true ambitions. If the board sack VG if we make the top 4, their ambition is back to where we were, if VG stays and we make the top 4 we will know exactly the board's true ambitions and it is making the top 4 with the odd trophy

Former Manchester Untied defender Rio Ferdinand believes that Louis van Gaal could still save his job at Old Trafford.

Ferdinand made the point that United’s football has not been easy on the eye, and believes that supporters want more play that is ‘respectful to their history of the club’.

Yet Ferdinand also conceded that, should United finish in the top four and win the FA Cup, Van Gaal could argue that he had achieved progress.

He also accepted that United’s performance against Everton in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final was far closer to what fans expect of their team.

“If he wins the FA Cup and United finish in the Champions League he could sit there and say that is progression,” Ferdinand told talkSPORT.

“I watched the game at the weekend and if that is a sign of things to come, then Louis van Gaal has got a great argument to put forward.”

“Speaking to people at Manchester United in and around the ground and supporters around the country, they have not been playing the type of football they are accustomed to seeing at Manchester United.

“They want to see football that is respectful to their history of the club. It has been a lot of sideways, sideways football.”

We’re going to stick our necks on the line and predict that Ferdinand would like to see Ryan Giggs replace Van Gaal.

I actually don't think Ferdinand said anything wrong here.

He's just saying what he reckons LVG would say, rather than agreeing with any of the logic himself.

Re: Ferdinand.
I understand that the last game was exciting. The problem is that that was one game in about 90.
I prefer to focus on the vast majority of games we have played where the football was extraordinarily boring.
I also like to look at our league placing.
These points are far more important than a single game against Everton, who btw are struggling and looking to possibly fire their manager.

Wow, wow, wow, make sure you don't say this is the Mourinho or it'll go into meltdown. Last I looked there, he was definitely coming, innit.

the funniest thing about people "sideways, sideways football" is the actual association people are making with what LVG wants. The guy has said numerous times he wants quicker ball circulation and he thinks the vertical pass is less risky than the horizontal one. Think something between him and the players getting lost in translation

Seriously? What you describe as failing is, literally, his ONLY job. If he cannot get his message across it's irrelevant if it's the right one or, as I believe, a completely outdated one – he's about as useful as Owen Hargreaves glass knee!

If veritical you mean back pass then you are right.

Last game was exciting becasue Everton created many good chances. I dont think it something a top team can allow every week.

I wouldn't say his only job but it certainly is a critical piece. It's funny though because i've noticed when we play teams who give us space like Everton eventually did in the first half we play much better. Then as we saw when Everton constricted the space we had trouble adjusting to it but eventually were able to ride it out.

In my view, LVG's time here has been a bit of limbo. There are things which go well then others (injury recurrences) which go horribly wrong

How many teams don't play better when given space?

You watch the EPL on a regular yeah? Lot of teams quite bad at exploiting the space that's already there.
Ok for arguments sake let's say you're right. He has been here two seasons and has created a system/built a team that can only play well when other teams allow it is what I'd take from it.

The problem is that he's so annoyingly inflexible (in my opinion) he plays a very successful two man defensive midfield and counter-attacking forward line against the big teams (Arsenal 3:0 apart) and this has proven to be most fruitful this season. i'd be all for retaining him if we hadn't played the exact same tactics against the likes of West Brom, Sunderland, Southampton, Stoke, Norwich, Bournemouth and lost! FFS we lost to FCfeckingMidgitland who are bloody part timers created the year we won the CL in Barcelona. Every one of these losses to (what I would probably disrespectfully describe as) lower league opposition can be directly attributed to his frustrating, egotistical belief that his original game plan needs no tweaking and it would be a sign of weakness to jump off the bench and reorganise something that, to everyone else watching, is failing. The guy is an outdated fool that has been run out of every major club he has ever managed … please do NOT let us be the one that breaks the mould!

I dont think he's outdated. There are traces of his work seen in some of the managers we revere today. However, I think you've hit on something here and I have a funny theory not only related to him using a double pivot midfield most of the time but also how we play against the smaller teams.

I love LVG though it does seem to me as if he's trying to prove something and won't stray from it unless he feels he has to (then reverts to more traditional 4-3-3). I do think we use double pivot because he wants to protect us more on the counterattack. Against everton we played 3 in midfield but we are quite open still. However playing the double pivot seems to bring more defensive security but our attacking impetus looks to fall to the wayside as a result

My point was that he's inflexible, not outdated (although my Barca and Bayern friends would argue that point too and are still laughing at us for hiring him in the first place).

it's the sitting on the bench writing notes while the players are struggling (fiddling while Rome burns) that kills me! I'm sure he feels even a stopped clock is right twice a day … but IMHO he's not right … ever! He just gets frustratingly lucky!

If LVG wasnt sacked in December (when he should have been) there is now way Ed will sack him now.
He is gone at the end of the season with Jose incoming IMO.

We will see, as that I will see to believe. Like I say, at the end of the season we will know the boards ambitions, we make the top 4 and VG stays that gives the biggest picture on the club's ambitions. If we sack VG failing to make the top 4, it would be expected, but? it would still feel like speculation and mystery on what the board see's with the club moving forward. Until VG is officially gone, its all here say, and I am not convinced yet he will be gone

So one thing that always gets me to chuckle now is LVG says he likes to sit more than get out of his seat but the time he does choose to get out of his seat led to this moment!

Supporting a club no matter what?

I mean yeah of course it is fun.
Not giving a sh*t about football asides from when it is Manchester United related.

I know I'll be delighted if Leicester and Ranieri upset ludicrous odds to win the Premier League, if England win Euro 2016, if someone scores an overhead kick in the very last second of the final...

Manchester United don't need to be playing for me to enjoy football. Just thought it must get depressing to be .Rossi and yourself.

What are you on about. You just said you want your own team to lose in a really important match.

This happened end of last season.

Do shit for first 3/4 of season, play good football in last 1/4 to convince board and fans to let him have another season in charge.

We're getting conned. More of for 3/4 of next season. In fact, 4/4 because his contract is up and he doesn't gaf.
