Today would be half the job done, out of the FA cup and Can't qualify for Europe and he will be gone I reckon, probably wait to announce at the end of the season though as its a bit pointless letting him go for the last few games.

Not really, the mood around the club right now is at an all time low. Our value has nosedived, our sponsors are getting nervous, a lot of fans are contemplating whether it's worth renewing their season tickets, most of us can't be arsed to even watch our games at home and prospective transfer targets are probably wondering if it's worth the bother.

The only thing they can do now to restore some optimism and positivity is to ditch the manager and if legally possible, announce Mourinho or whoever it is that'll manage us next season. Remember the change in mood and how buzzing the atmosphere in the club was when we sacked Moyes? The club desperately needs that again. And who knows, that positivity might boost us to a top 4 grab as unlikely as it is.

Yeah fair point, I still see it as unlikely, Woodward clearly has a tremendous amount of respect for him.

We'll probably scrape through, and Ed will send Vangle some roses and a copy of The Smiths' Hand in Glove.

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
Then Edward sent me Louis van Gaal
He was looking for a job, and then he found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

It's just been one big painful experiment by an out-of-touch senior citizen to prove his tactical approach is still relevant.

I know that comparing anyone to Ferguson is probably not going to be a fair fight but he was much older than Van Gaal and yet he was always evolving and adapting and looking at new tactical and training methods. Van Gaal doesn't seem interested in adapting to be relevant and enjoy success in different eras. His whole modus operandi seems to be a determination to prove that his mid 90s approach still works - it doesn't.
I was thinking on the way to work whether he is taking this job seriously. I looked at the actions and its like he is sabotaging himself and the prospects of the club because he feels like he wants to experiment to demonstrate his genius. Managing United this season should've been a piece of P*** with the performance of our rivals, our champions league group and FA cup run. HE himself has made it look impossibly difficult. I guess he likes to do things the hard way. In spite of the endemic poor performances (includes everything from goals, on pitch, competitions, player individual performance, transfers etc) he admitted rather defiantly that he believes his methods are working so the "hard way" is his modus operandi it seems. The substitutions on weekend and other bizarre decisions over the past 20 months have convinced me hes either trolling or hes just experimenting or mucking about because his heart isn't really in it with his impending retirement. He has already claimed that he doesn't need to be successful here as he has already entered the hall of fame. I mean he can't be an idiot surely? He wouldn't be paid so much and keep getting employed if this was the case right?

posession stats dropping aswell

He hasn't even won one of our caption contests.

The most damning thing is that I recognise Tottenham much more as a Fergie United team than ourselves.

Not that i am saying you are wrong, but the performance of Utd on the pitch and drop in value is not a direct correlation. Yes, there will most likely have been an impact, however, global markets are once again in a downward spiral - that is the bigger factor in the drop in value.
This just isn't true, as per the other thread. Since July of last year we're down 23%, the markets are virtually flat. Not sure why it's still being peddled as truth.

We're massively underperforming as a stock. Agree it's not driven directly by results, but it does mean we're failing both as a business and a football club.

Kudos Ed.

Again, not necessarily comparable. How someone has calculated 0.8% across every industry i'll never know, however, within investments you have thriving markets over others. That "0.8%" is made up of those that are thriving versus many that are floundering. Utd are in the latter.

As i said, to say results have had no impact on the valuation is definitely not true, but that's not to say its completely responsible.

No worries bud I was just commenting on what someone said in that thread, I've no idea how it all works

You need to understand that the part I've put in bold is simply not true. Markets are judged day-to-day and week-on-week, so while an end of year position may look more or less on par, the 2015 market performance was extremely volatile - significantly driven by a number of factors including Oil, Greece, and the Chinese economy.

Markets are all about confidence and most economists are predicting a difficult year. Most investment companies are setting up for a conservative year in an attempt to not be caught out ala 2008. It is selling rather than buying that will dominate the markets this year. It is this lack of confidence that is having an impact on a lot of businesses around the world. What the story on the valuation does not account for is the expected increase in revenue for 2016.

So, back to my actual point. Is the performance of the team impacting shareholder behaviour? To a degree yes - it works the same as any other business i.e. poor performance = sell. Is it the only factor? Absolutely not.

Couldn't have said it better myself, any minute without this clown around our players has got to be a massive bonus so yes as I've said many a time the quicker he's gone the better!

As a few have said before, it's like he's a city plant sent to feck us up as much as possible because loads of things he's done point to either senility or sabotage!

I never thought i would bring myself to watch another football game while United are playing. But with this deluded, outdated dinosaur and knowing well what to exactly expect of him. CL is what i will be watching tonight. I will be checking United's game on Twitter.

"Its laws off murphish", always comes up with some shite like that, basically with every bad manager it's always something to shift the blame, Vanballbag and Moyes's never own any mistake they make, he still thinks he's a good manager!!

Apparently De Telegraaf is reporting a loss tonight could spell the end for him. Take it with a pinch of salt, of course.

TBF, Louis is setting himself up for a fall by making it absolutely clear how crucial this match is for us.

I still want him gone, I was happy with the goal yet when the camera went towards him, I felt the urge to throw something at the TV.

No matter what we do between now and the end of the season, win the FA cup or not, get top 4 or not, he has to go.

 Exactly the same. I want us to win but then get reminded it only keeps him here for longer

Our woeful Champions League exit and poor league campaign should outweigh an FA Cup win (assuming we were to win the next two rounds). I'd prefer to look at it as allowing him to retire with some pride restored while allowing our new manager to take over a squad who have reacquired a taste for silverware.

Pathetic defending. Get him out now!!!!!

He absolutely 'has' to. Unfortunately it doesn't mean he will. Unfortunately, no matter how we all feel, the better we do between now and the end of the season, the more chance he has of staying on.

We still have to win another two games to win the FA cup. That's a bloody difficult task by our standards.

He still needs to go, whether we win the FA cup or not. Let's just be very clear on that.
