I quite like seeing him with his guard down like that. With the press he gets too confrontational, though a lot of it is understandable.

As much as I want rid of him I still find it hard to dislike Louis. It's a shame it hasn't worked as I'd have loved to have seen him win things with us, but unfortunately I think he's past it and we should be looking at bringing Jose in as soon as possible.

Just about sums up my way of thinking too..
It was always going to be a bit of a dirty job (thinning out the squad) but somebody had to do it.. Disclaimer. I'm not saying I agree with how he went about it, howerver I think he's made it an easier job for the next gaffer (hopefully Jose) to come in and get going on the details..

It hasn't been a nice job. Could you imagine Giggs having to sell Evans, Fletcher etc. LvG has no loyalty to those players. Ryan might have had too much.

Im starting to suspect LVG wont get sacked! I cant see LVG having a clause in his contract regarding minimum expectations without recourse regarding the quality of the squad. He's not as stupid as moyes. Maybe he hasn't be sacked because he was very clear that without players A,B and C he couldn't guarantee 4th.

Its clear Ed doesnt want to sack him until all hell breaks looks (or we are mathematically unable to qualify for the champions league)
The problem is not LVG, it is Ed Woodward...the title of this thread should read "Woodward out" then we would finally be getting to the root of the problems.

There is very little chance of either happening this season. The club has accepted mediocrity this season, we fans should accept it too.

The more the season goes on the more I see him being still here next season and see out his contract.

Woodward won't risk us missing out on CL for two seasons in a row because that'll mean the sponsorship money will be reduced due to that adidas clause. He tried to be contrarian and prove himself a genius during the December period and stuck with VG but he won't try be this "brave" (thin line between bravery and stupidity) again.

You have to appreciate how strong-minded and determined people like him are though. I can only imagine what I would do if every man and his dog affiliated with football is saying I am shit and should be sacked. I certainly wouldn't be joking about it!

There is a stark contrast in the post match interviews after the defeat and then the interviews after. After every feck-up he probably goes thinking that he is going to be sacked for sure this time, until Woodward calls him and massages his ego and cheers him on. Then the defiance comes back. Anyone can act strong-minded/determined if they know that their job is safe no matter how bad they are doing it.

I don't think it's that even, he's looked a broken man several times this season where he walks off the pitch not even able to meet our booing fans with so much as a look. He must expect to get fired every one of these times but then nothing happens...

It's like someone going into work and crapping on their boss' desk every morning, you'd expect to get fired but then nothing happens, you'd begin to feel invincible.

If the leak was correct and we lose tonight then he has to go. Injuries aren't an excuse since we fecked it up in the first leg.
Woodward simply cant use this as an excuse to dodge the big decision.

well i hope that means even if we win the match today but lose the tie, that he's still gone. injuries are zero excuse for the shit we've been through.

I'm still in the LvG out camp but one thing I do like about him is his faith in our youth system

So is the reason that these young players like Riley and Rashford look better than our first teamers because they haven't been Gaalized yet or are they just better?

He doesn't have much choice given the injuries we've had.
Cant argue with that but even at the start of the season he did give run outs to the likes of Wilson, McNair to name but a few.

Nah they're just Horny

yes, and by that same logic i have to give credit to my laptop computer which has done a phenomenal job of keeping away tigers ever since i bought it. in all the time i've had it, there hasn't been a single tiger attack.

lvg deserves no credit for this promoting youth nonsense.

however crap people say these last two teams we've faced are, it's to his massive credit we've smashed them with a ridiculous set of injuries.

We played silky stuff tonight. Maybe he deserves another yeAr to build.
