Watched part of the Man City vs Tottenham game. Poch has done a fantastic job with spurs, how they all work cohesively from defence to attack, how they press in number, attack down one side freeing up the otherside to quickly switch play, how they set up defensively and how the set up in attacking is great to watch. They really have grown into a team. I expected the same from LVG having taken over from Moyes but theres no improvement, we have regressed from his first year in charge. It's crazy to see what Poch has done over the same time, he's made spurs better while LVG has made us worse. LVG is the wrong manager and need to go. I do wonder where we'd be right now if Poch took over instead of LVG.

Twitter going nuts with Simeone-Chelsea

Don't know if true but if so things are getting worse by the second

Which means a top job in Spain will be open this summer.
We need to get LvG out, and Jose in, NOW!

Simeone won't last a season at Chelsea. Not that that says much, no available manager will.

It's clearly Giggs next, don't do it to yereselves lads. Much easier to lose all hope.
If they give the job to Giggs the club deserve everything bit of ridicule that will be coming their way. Who in gods name do they think will sign for us with a rookie manager, who has shown absolutely no coaching quality and has been part of two disastrous management teams? Good luck with that one Ed. Maybe 20th Century Fox are going to make a film about it. You can guarantee it will be a comedy.

Van Gaal until the end of next season, then one-year extension with Giggs taking over in 2018. Dream.

It might be a case they are going to let Van Gaal end his management career with a bit of dignity and he will "step down" in the summer?

Nothing dignified about not even finishing in the top four after that outlay.

It's the only logical explanation I can find for LVG still being in a job.

I think we're waiting for United to be mathematically out of the top 4 to activate the doomsday clause and have him kicked out of OT without paying anything.

I don't think it will be Giggs. They'd have binned Van Gaal by now and let our new manager start early. There's little more to see/learn from Van Gaal, the man is clearly struggling on the field.

You would think that LvG would then show some dignity and leave anyway. At this rate his reputation will be in tatters. If they leave it to the end of the season LvG will not leave with any dignity, he has wrecked Manchester United.

You think it's bad with the LvG disciples preaching BELIEVE now, wait until Giggs is at the helm and it'll be ten times worse.

Saying that if he is appointed I'll try to give him as much support as I can as inexperienced managers deserve some slack.

We really can't be affording such an experiment, not after the last two failed so badly.

I hope you are right, that seems the common sense reason.

They never leave especially at LVG's age where this will translate into his last pay cheque.

If it is true he has offered to leave in the past, it's not entirely down to him he is still in place.

Just wait for the first time he has to discipline a player for his off field behaviour. I would tell him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Then we are being taken for a ride by him. Although if it is true that he tried to resign Ed Woodward reputation is taking a hammering, what reputation he actually had.

It depends on alot of things most of which we do not know.

a- what if LVG doesn't want to resign? It makes sense considering that its his last pay cheque.
b- what if LVG wanted to resign but our next manager cant sign for us now? Clubs tend to put clauses to managers to avoid having to face them few days after giving them the sack. Also we're not 100% if Giggs wants to be interim manager anymore.

If you ask me I think that Maureen will be our next manager. Gaz experience at Valencia must have scared the shit out of Woodward and for good reason. Things can change very quickly however. Maureen can decide to sign with someone else for example

I am hoping it is that the new manager can't come until the summer. You would have thought if Giggs was guaranteed the job from then he would have no qualms taking over now as I am sure the club would write this season off and he wouldn't have any pressure on him. The fact it isn't happening should give us hope.

Look its all speculation. For all I know United had already offered LVG a 5 year contract with Giggs taking over for the next 20 years. However there's plenty of signs that indicate a big change is coming

a- many of the old youth academy are either leaving or placed in roles which does not translate to actual coaching
b- Sir Bobby (whose been Maureen's biggest opposition) have had a stand named to him. What's better parting gift than that?
c- BBC had stuck their necks out on Maureen
d- Maureen keeps insisting he wants to keep managing in England.

There's plenty of smoke out there

This is a bit of a worry.
Giggs could fight to keep Powell
Hull boss Steve Bruce has hinted Ryan Giggs may fight to keep Nick Powell at United.

The 21 year old was sent on loan to the KC Stadium in January after spending nearly 10 months on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Powell, who has featured twice for United this season in defeats to Wolfsburg and Bournemouth, is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season.

But Bruce has suggested Giggs may want to keep the England Under-21 midfielder - who is yet to play for Hull - beyond the summer.

What will it have to do with Giggs who is at United after the summer? Does that mean nothing is going to change at United, or that Giggs will be the manager. Why would we want to keep Nick Powell, sorry he is always injured.

If Giggs had been given the United job already, it would be all over the place.

Stop worrying. Bruce knows feck all.

Van Gaal has denied all those rumours that he tried to resign.
'
He says its press BS

What is supposed to say? He tried to quit and Ed talked him out of it?
IMO Ed did talk him out of it and both of them are keeping their mouths shut until he steps down in the summer....too bad by then we wont likely have Champions League football to look forward to.

Fundamentally it's a complete lack of understanding on the players part, and an inability to be felxible on Van Gaal's.
Ultimately something has to give here, but do you trust a retiring Van Gaal to rebuild a team?
Cos I don't.
Keep on this way and I'm not sure we will be in any position to challenge next year...or the year after.

Objectively, colours firmly left in your pocket, he's spent a fortune and we are going backwards...couple of points.
Firstly if it was happening to Liverpool...folk would piss themselves. Apparently LVG deserves 3 years but Klopp is already a failure. Mental.
Furthermore, it's becoming obvious that even LVG doesn't seem to know if/when this will click. His last few interviews have looked weary.

Louis, himself admits he has failed. I'm not going to disagree with him.
Very disappointed given that on his appointment I could see him taking us forward as a group.
Going forward, the next one has to be someone who can bring a real drive, plan and experience in the modern game.
