I'm generally against Giggs managing us until he's proven himself elsewhere, but, assuming there is truth in the Guardiola rumours, I'd get him signed up and give Giggs the rest of this season to prove that he is capable of taking over post-Pep.

With our board insisting on patience and blah blah blah, it'll take another few months of this for him to get sacked I think. Which is a shame. Think we have a fight on to get top 4, which I didn't think there was even a chance we'd be dragged into. 4 wins in last 14 games... Woeful stuff.
If the crowd numbers start dropping the board will regret not sacking him.

Maybe, but I've never liked back-stabbing, especially when it's done to get someone's job. But United was like that when Busby retired and now we're seeing a repeat post-Fergie. If, and it's a big if, we want Guardiola in next season, then the club is going to have to get rid of Giggs. He's clearly not happy with being second fiddle and we know he can't be trusted. Interesting times ahead.

never thought Giggs would be the one doing the stirring. interesting angle. but we are headed downhill with this clown for sure. Yes. Pep looks like the one we should go for. I think van Gaal will be sacked after todays result. Obviously a major meeting will be held now.

How old do you think Ancelloti is?

I'm certain most people think he's at least 10 years older than his 56.
But Milan aside, he doesn't stick around.

Pep if he wanted to come, would probably hang about a while longer

Can anyone honestly say the result today would have been any different if we'd had everyone available?

If we have everyone, they deserve to have everyone. So maybe, because Shaw was incredibly good.

We missed chances. He failed to mention Bournemouth missed the better and more chances.

If their lumbering goon up front hadn't tried to obliterate the net when all he had to do was tap it in, it could very very comfortably been 3 or 4.

All our chances seemed to come to Fellaini, and then he was taken off.
For a guy who hasn't been since (bar Tuesday) for yonks.

for the manager, not the players.

Carlo won't come mid season, so what then ? Not saying everything is rosy but there isn't a go to decision to make here.

He came mid season for PSG.

Yeah we are fecking bad right now and if LvG can't turn it around, he has to go. I don't think he is the only one to blame, but he is reponsible for our performances in the end and we are useless right now and it looks more like we will drop further than start to turn it around.
That said, our attacking players are useless right now, today it was obvious again that we need quality even under a new manager. And our injury luck is just fecking horrible. Yeah LvG is to blame for our thin squad, but no team could deal with as many injuries. Shaw, Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Schweini (yeah that was stupid to be honest), Herrera and Rooney. That's pretty much our whole defence, our central midfield and one of not so many strikers, who is our leader and top player (at least he should be). So pretty much the whole team except goalkeeper and wings, where we aren't that great anyway and with Lingard today it looks like the exodus there is coming too. We are still weak on the mental side too, I don't know why the players need to concede twice after a goal against Wolfsburg, I don't know how they think that they do proper defending in some situations where we concede goals and we saw it too many times that we fell apart in the second half after a proming performance in the beginning.

Difficult situation, I don't know what we should do right now. Pep in the summer was always my favorite option, even if van Gaal would have done great, because he was never going to be a long-term option anyway. Next games are must wins, if we can't do that, then we probably need to sack him, but who should manage us then? Carlo would be more than a till the end of the season-option, but would be still great of course, but he also said several times that he won't be available before summer.

He can what?
He did 8 years at his peak at Milan in his most successful period, but look at the rest of his career, it's all 2 yearers.

He's worked under many of the most awkward, interfering boards as well though. He's an ultimate pro who just takes what he is given, puts them into what he thinks is the best system for what he has, looks to play good football and carries himself with class and little fuss. With proper backing and good support from United he can do big things here in my opinion. That Chelsea side of his scored over 100 goals on the way to a double. I like him a lot and would be very happy if we were to get him in. I'd love Pep too but I really think he is City bound unfortunately.

Injuries are no excuse. Bournemouth had injuries too.

Rooney aside those are our best attackers on the pitch is the scary thing. That's Van Gaals fault.

He took the Chelsea job, from which he got kicked out, left PSG on his own accord to take the Real job and got kicked out again, so its only one job he left on his own.

Listening to TS. Good question, would Woody be willing to give LVG more money?
We'd have to show improvement in the second half of the season. Can't see Woodward sticking with LVG if we win another top 4 struggle.

Pep hasn't stuck around too if he leaves Bayern at the end of his season. Ancelotti's been sacked twice unfairly, and made a step up from Paris to Madrid.

I don't think they'll sack him while there's fourth place and the FA Cup still to play for, though who can tell? Woodward might be a bit trigger-happy.

I wanted him out 5 games into his managerial career at United. The signs were so obvious.

Genuinely interested to know what the initial feelings were that you had? (Not WUMing at all)

I must say its only this season it's turned for me.

Was it just the possession style etc?

No Rooney included that is our best front 4, Herrera over Mata is the only argument.

None of his signings have been disasters to be fair. Woody will probably think of it as improving the team for his successor as well.

That is his usual line. Any mention as to why Young has been left out in the cold or why Powell gets the nod when he has not played for God knows how long?

Blimey. He doesn't look great for his age

His league record is really poor though isn't it? Can't argue with his CL pedigree though.
Yeah not sure about his league record. It's a bit a average. No idea what his transfer record is either.

I just don't see him as the obvious no brainer everyone does. Would happy if he joined but I'd like us to consider alternatives. Pep of course 1st choice.

Seriously though, I think he would be here three years absolute max. Still want him mind!

:D I agree, I don't see Pep stay in the business for too long, he will do a "Cruyff".

They haven't, but for such a spend, you can't say we look very near the final product.
