It should be a commandment - written in stone that the BEAR minimum expectation of a United Manager is 4th

Even when it was the bares, I knew it was van Gaal.

the only thing that gives me any real hope with all this is the lack of outright denial from the decision makers. Utd have not come out to completely deny Mourinho and Mourinho is not very public in denying convincingly. Seems its a done deal but if we have missed the boat here it is really disturbing. This season has been a disaster from a long way back. Its pathetic to see an organisation of Uniteds stature in such disarray. I really believe it is now time for the matchday fans to publicly demonstrate our dissatisfaction and demands for the proper changes to be made. Giggs is a legend but should not be in charge of an organisation that needs a man with far more experience. LVG claims to be a winner and to have a plan and while neither of those two things are being provided, does not have the professional integrity to hold his hands up and say 'this isnt working' and resign. He does not have the right to continue to draw and enormous salary and serve up this dross while our club falls further and further behind. If Liverpool fans can force their board into a climbdown over ticket prices then its time for UTD fans to stand up for our own club. It should be made very clear at the next home match that we have had enough. End of.

I think the key point is that unless there is a huge display of discontent, and that the board and Ed really feel the wrath of the fans on match day, they will not move an inch. LVG has actually taken a lot of the heat which should have been directed to the players and board. This season has been a disaster and there is plenty of blame to go around.

Has Castles ever broken a Mourinho story?
Broke Mourinho to Chelsea. Broke Mourinho was leaving Real by mutual consent. broke Mourinho not fancying Mata even before he took over. Broke Mourinh was negotiating a release on his contract at Chelsea, two weeks before they fired him. It's quite clear he's close with Mourinho and he constantly licks his arse.

Of course it's impossible to know, but I do wonder how things would be going if David Moyes was still in the job, specifically in comparison with the staid displays of this season.
As it is though, time to get Mark Hughes.

people on here stating that SAF lost to lower teams , got knocked out of CL early , played boring football etc. he didn't do it all in one year. united have dropped points against 5 of the 6 lower teams so far this season. got KO'd in a dead easy CL group and we are boring and have been for two seasons. one goal wonders. watching LC/arse before the red card was great football , PL football.

And did not have the lowest goals tally

The anger towards VG is beyond anger now, the guy almost seems like no matter how bad he does he knows he won't be sacked, and that is the biggest annoyance. Factoring in the board are so ignorant to patterns, we have a Moyes 2.0 on our hands and his job still is safe

As soon as Maureen is in another job, I'm fine with us ditching Van Gaal. Until then, keep him.
Then what, Giggs, who is this other manager you are going to bring in? Giggs is part of the problem. If LvG goes, he has to go as well. All he has done all season is sit on his arse looking perplexed, great qualfication to be our manager.

And hire who?

Anybody but that prick. He's the managerial equivalent of Luis Suarez in that I don't want him anywhere near this football club.

It's the reasoning that we can now use the EL to get into next seasons CL. We can't beat teams down the bottom of the PL. Where is this miraculous upturn in form going to come from?

He's a winner. Winners are quite often tossers. SAF was a tosser at times when it suited him. Don't make him out to be a saint.

Bob might well be genuine in his concerns for the greater good of the game, so I'd rather not resort to the they.are.worried stuff just yet. Besides, he's not exactly alone in his misgivings about The Special Bus.

Personally, while I don't want to compare Mourinho to Adolf Hitler...he's Adolf Hitler.

With Moyes though he was a subject of performance evaluation. We knew, he knew that if he fails he would be sacked. With LVG it seems.that he could set OT on fire and still remain in charge.

I get that you don't like Jose but maybe you should put mufc first and your prejudice aside. What is best for the club right now is Jose.... Not LVG or Giggs.

This club is now an absolute fecking shambles. The board are utterly fecking spineless and clueless.

Worse than Moyes.

Our fans are just as spinelss and clueless tbh. They've literally bent over and let the Club rock from one disaster to another without any proper accountability. This would not be allowed to happen at a club like Madrid.

It has been a pathetic show all round. Fans turning on each other and trying to keep dissenters quiet rather than getting the club back to where it should be.

At the end of moyes tenure even SAF was starting to get stick... Fans were yelling and confronting him at OT. Maybe Ed should start getting this type of treatment.
There is a malaise that has set in, perhaps from us not winning anything in a while plus playing the worst football we have played in decades. Dissent is good sometimes.

Madrid fans voting for their president helps there. He has to keep the fans onside and happy. Our board couldn't give a damn about what the fans think. They are in their own little bubble, while fans have to go to work/school and have the piss taken out of them relentlessly. Although I think other teams fans are just completely baffled how this is being allowed to happen. What can the fans do to make things change? I just want LvG gone, I can't stand his face anymore, I can't stand listening to him.

I'm only messing about, tbh. :) There's nothing I can do regarding who the board put in charge so I'm not going to waste my time being angry. Unless it's Rodgers.

If our fans boycott one game even for 10 mins or a half. He's gone - simple as. It's not rocket science. We are pussies plain and simple.

Walk out during half time of the next home game or even better do not turn up to protest and tell the board/Woodward that United needed a better tactician like Mourinho immediately as their Manager. Poor tactics and awareness by the Manager and his coaching team had caused United to loose the game against Sunderland.

How in the living shell is Van Gaal still at United?!

I've mentioned this earlier. Either come in late, leave on the 58th minute or the supporter clubs get together and decide on a game and all stay away. That number of people would be noticed. The loss of matchday income from catering, programmes and the megastore would be noticed as well.

Beats me. Can't imagine even Woody thinks he will turn it around now. Goodness knows what is being discussed in those corridors at OT. We are supposedly going to be the richest club in the world soon and we should start acting like it. I wouldn't mind losing if we were always trying, attacking etc...but we are so tumescent and don't even deserve to be 5th with the kind of football we are playing. It's down to one guy....and he's still here....
