Hes given up on top four and pretty much said Europa League looks impossible. This is our fckin leader and it looks like hes giving up on CL. And to top it off, he says hes doing the best he can.

To play 2 DMs against Sunderland, and still lose, 3 wins in 13 games, how is all this not a sackable offence?

He wont leave, why would he walk away from something that is helping fund his pension? Dude pretty much had his eyes set on retirement and we had to talk him out of it. His heart is fully not in this and you can tell the way he reacts.

Don't expect him to go. We got knocked out possibly the easiest CL draw we could get. Knocked out of the League Cup by a lower league side again. Thw horrific run, after both the Norwich and the Stoke defeats, it seemed crazy that he would not get sacked. He still remains. Weird situation we are in.

LVG needs to go. That rather drab and defeatest post match interview highlights it tbh.
This season has shown his football philosophy is not compatible with the PL, and as such his relationship with the players and their faith in him has faltered.
The club needs to decide how it wants to structure itself. It seems with our dwindling number quality of players and lack of ability to attract the elite players we are definitely a club in decline, I don't see how the board are going to rectify these issues. We are either going to have minimal youth setup and buy everyone in or we are seriously going to have to restructure everything with a unified football philosophy and this will take years to achieve and see results from.

As for when to sack LVG, if we do it now, we could bring in Jose, but that takes us down a certain route in terms of football and structure of the club, which I don't realistically think many fans will be happy with in the long term.
Giggs would only be a stop gap solution till the end of the season, and I honestly think the likelyhood of top 4 or CL(via Europa) with him would still be nil.
Getting Pochettino would be difficult and might take all of the summer, leaving us in a precarious position for next season. Ideally if we do decide he is our man, then get him in early.

It seems more about hoping the bad results turn good so that they had stand up and say "I told you so, I win!" Because risking the club's future is a small price to pay to get bragging rights.

Well they should all go hiding beneath some rock in shame because it is the unjustifiable trust and patience that is killing this club. He should have been fired after the Bournemouth game, what good has the patience brought us since than ?

Nice name. Imposter.

We should sack him now, because even though top 4 is all but gone we're still in 2 cups. With a change we might fluke them like Chelsea 2012 with a re-motivated squad. With him in charge, there's no chance.

well...he's moved on now and basically admitted we won't make top four now. He looks totally defeated.

He looked defeated too after the Stoke loss which is exactly when he should have gone

Claiming he isn't under pressure in his post match presser is the mark of the man, he is that arrogant/deluded.. The sooner he goes the better.

He isn't going anywhere though, I'm not even sure that we are after Mourinho.

History has proven that LVG is one of the best managers. That doesn't mean he hasn't made any mistakes, but I don't believe in this whole "lost it" or "tactically outdated" stuff. Many footballers are raving about his tactical knowledge. We have a squad of players that (partially due to their age) is extremely inconsistent performance-wise and we lack leaders in the field that can inject aggression and belief in the squad when we are behind.
History has also shown that he is such a hit and miss manager.

The Dutch NT (2002), Barca(2003), Bayern (2011) and now United. And the signs of yet another cockup where right there, yet the board chose to ignore them.

He is a decent manager (so was Trapattoni for example), but the ship has sailed on him . 19 trophies in management (impressive right?), but just 4 come post 2000. He's gradually regressed with time, but he's nowhere near the top managers in modern football. In his own words, he once was.

Di Marzio doesn't bullshit. Several independent sources in different countries have pretty much confirmed that Mourinho is coming.

Imagine this shit in Barcelona or Bayern... but of course don't worry, we're not descending into Liverpool's quality.

Fluke = Nil to slim chances. I will say that Di Matteo did really well, but the size of the task facing Giggs is much much bigger I fear, although Giggs may have a few more weeks to get things turned around. If the club haven't decided who they want I think he will get the job when the pressure to sack LvG becomes too much for board

He is right though, the club won't sack him, so no pressure. To say that in his position currently is just a testament of how clueless he and the club are. A match made in heaven

Just bin him after that. The minimum requirement is top four and if he's all but given up on that then get rid and bring in someone to the end of the season lift the mood.

I wonder when would be his next media face off when he try to spin everything and make it all about him again. He's an embarrassment to both himself and the club. But he's that thick and arrogant and will demand an apology again should his sacking stories pop on the media again.

What media word is after that defeat? I hope it is last nail in the coffin because otherwise we can write this season off.

The elite clubs would have sacked him after we got beat in Germany.

I think big clubs would have sacked him after Stoke easily beat us on Boxing day.

The fact he's still here, being shit and losing games, it defies all logic and belief. The standards at this club have dropped to such an alarming level, it's disgusting.

What depresses me is that a draw or a jammy win over Arsenal will give him another cushion of 5 games, only for us to lose the next game against relegation fodder and nothing being done. Its an excruciating cycle.

At this rate we're going to wait until its mathematically impossible to make top 4, again.

Sack him. Make Giggs manager until the end of the season and then get Jose in.

Don't want Mourinho coming in now and nearly getting top 4 and potentially missing out and being seen as a failure.

Nor do I think he wants it until the end of the season.

If Giggs does a good job then he can set himself up well for a management job elsewhere and really prove himself. If he's a good manager, he can replace Jose when he's had enough.

His shtick eventually works, he fails when he has resistance from the board or some other higher ups at the club. This is the first time he has failed this spectacularly other than the Dutch job in 2002.

This sounds too sensible

There are times when fans are not privy to all the facts, details and influencing forces which surround situations and decisions and fan opinions can be wildly off target. However there are also times when fans seem to be the only ones with sane feelings on a subject and this feels like one of those times. Sack him tomorrow.

Im no fan of Mourinho but this seems to me to be a sensible option.

Why wait until tomorrow? Jose's available today!

Are the board just feeling guilty for not getting in the players he wanted during the summer? Hence their willingness to give him so much more time...

Where's Woody when you need him?

Guilty for not landing Muller and Neymar? He should have been slapped when he proposed them, if he actually asked these players.

More likely to be people who voted a while back and haven't bothered to change their vote.

Poll needs to be reset for a better idea.
Maybe someone should tag them all in a post to summon them to this thread.

all too familiar with this feeling I'm afraid. as soon as we look like turning around we revert to type. this isn't the first time that happened just this season.

just sack the man now and appoint mourinho before any chance of us competing is over in all fronts.

True, but they didn't even really get any backup options. LvG mush have wanted at least one decent centre-half too

I have a question for you all. How many people remember this banner that was hang after a string of poor performances:
Ta-Ra-Fergie-banner-007.jpg

The circumstances behind this is eerie similar to what you are seeing. Have patience.

Feck off - its just so moronic.

Or, you know, they could have sacked him in december when things were clearly starting to fall apart and not waste the winter transfer period.
