Will him leaving cause Smalling to defend his man on corner and not run around like a headless chicken in his own box? Or go after corners with strength?
How will his leaving help the midfield? We don't have a midfield. The spine of the team is not yet formed. No grit, no pace and injuries have been unfair.

Possibly, it's not uncommon for players to have a new sense of belief and an uptake in form when a failing manager leaves the club.

It was unlikely anyway, but that's top4 gone for me. There's a good chance we will be 9 points behind at the end of today. Where are we going to make up that when we can't even beat the team with the worst defence? They had almost twice as many shots as us, too.

You assume Mourinho wants to come when we have nothing to play for. I get the feeling he's not interested in walking into a dead season. If that were true, we're better off letting this car crash continue till May.

I don't understand this logic, I would love to come into a job with 6 months free of any judgement, 6 months when I can evaluate and adapt to my new environment.

Yeah, look at Klopp. Nobody will make any judgement regarding his capabilities no matter how shit Liverpool are this season. He basically got the better part of a season to evaluate and prepare himself for when it actually starts mattering for him.

This is the second time LVG shifts Martial over to the right to accommodate Depay, who really is rather rubbish. What the hell is he thinking? I recall the bench we used to have under Fergie, and then look at the bench today. Yes it is great to see young lads, but four at once?

This is the worst part.

Why?. He is right. Many including me wanted him gone after Wolfsburg. Getting out of that group was a major target in our season. He didnt and should have been sacked then.

We let him continue on and TBF many in here predicted our downfall. I thought maybe we will go down but still scrape top4 but thats not happening.

Has he bottled the post match presser? Wayne currently giving one saying top four is all but gone now.

I can't wait for the usual bollocks from him if he does come out and give one.

Exactly. Starting in June with a bunch of demoralised failures isn't the best way to go into a season, you'd think having the last months of the season to get them into a better mindset and way of playing would be a plus. Is he going to turn us down if we say he has to take it now?

We have less points at this point in the season than any premier league year. Obviously including Moyes, but also early years when we weren't even in the title hunt! (and the Djemba squared years)
We haven't not been in the title hunt in any premier league year except the last few. We won the first premier league...

Patience's is a virtue....but think this is it for him, i have defended him, but he has been unable to scrap the results when play badly.

I thought he will be keeping a decent distance in the league while have a run in the cups, but if City or Arse win, the gap is going to look too big to claw back and reckon the board is going to pull the trigger.

Fortunately he does have the cups coming up, and then Arsenal in the league, win all thoses and he could save himself again, lose any of them and i sure that will be it for him

With LVG season is over, sack him and still a chance to salvage something but we will all know what option board will choose, clueless.

Arrogant, crap man management, mostly uninspired substitution, poor in the transfer market both with the buys and the sells - time and again, uninspiring football, keep breaking all the wrong records. At this point, I'd gladly welcome Mourinho!

Wayne said that? Very difficult no doubt but players usually don't say that with 12? games to play.

No, it's the real world. If you fail with your job as much as he has you get fired. Simple as that.

Indeed. If I did this badly in my job, I'd be given my marching orders pretty quickly...and replaced.
And during my exit interview, I wouldn't have any cause to complain.

We're out of the top four but we have two cups to play for. There's no reason Jose can't come in now and begin to sort this shit out and maybe pick up one of those two cups.

Even Giggs, who mopped up for Moyes well enough.

Dont know what people are so furious with, just look at our fabulous turn around in form since the start of the year, the movement, the passing, the possession, who cares about results or performances? Sure, Sunderland are one of the worst teams in the league, just lost one of their better players, have won one league game at home (against Villa, the actual WORST team) since the end of November, but hey, can't win em all(or any to be frank).

Can't wait for LVG to act all big bully bollocks in his press conference, sticking it to those evil meanies in the press, what a hero. They're the reason we've lost all these games, along with Scholes and the Giggs illumninati, and the Old Trafford crowd, and the refs, and Zeus, and of course, all those Caftards being such negative Nancies. LVGin, contract extension till the South Stand caves in and collapses.

Did he? Getting beat at home by Sunderland?

Is our purple patch officially over? Wins...sorry a win against Stoke and a draw against Chelsea had some fans very excited.

It's moronic that the club is happy to write off another season, but it's been painfully obvious that was the plan since christmas.
Revenue is up despite the problems on the pitch. That is enough for the men in suites.

Woodward's role needs to be closely looked at by the higher ups. Its ridiculous that he has such a close personal relationship with LVG that he cant make the big decisions.
We'll probably win v Shrewsbury and maybe nick it with a back to the wall performance v Arsenal and he will be safe for another month.
Its scandalous.

Who said it's going to solve anything? Having LVG at the helm clearly isn't working, something has got to change.
If you want to blame anyone, blame Fergie for overestimating the strength of his own squad full of aging players. I don't think many people understand the sheer size of the rebuild that was needed. Based on the quality of our players, I would expect us to become the fourth or maybe fifth. We have potentially I very good squad, but young players need time to develop and the fact that Rooney and Carrick are struggling with their form doesnt help either
That's a bit like saying did Spurs/Leicester just magically become much better compared to previous seasons?

Hint: no it's down to very good management.
No, it's down to them having players who are playing in the form of their lives. And that again can be attributed to a big number of factors, of which management is just one. LvG was a top coach before, and I don't believe in this "lost it" nonsense. Any coach would struggle to get any higher than fourth position with our current squad, but seeing the development of players as Martial, CBJ and Lingard, I see this and next season as necessary in order to become a dominating team once again.

"Sunderland had more aggression"

Is it me or does he say this shit every time?

How is it still seemingly a surprise?
