Cue his arrogant post-match blaming of the referee and injuries.
Sick of calling for his fat head on a plate.
Biggest charlatan in the game.

Surely this has to be it, right? Getting knocked out of the CL should have been it. Getting knocked out of the League Cup at home to a Championship side should have been it. Then December's form should have been it. Losing at home to Norwich should have been it. This though. This just has to be it. Right?

Seriously. What more can LvG give to United? Over a year and a half into the job and he still doesn't know his best team, his best approach, his best formation. Poch started at Spurs at the same time and he had his style of play down within the first 6 months. By the 2nd season they were making a good run at the title, scoring a lot of goals, defending well, all with the distraction of the Europa League. LvG isn't even a fraction as developed in his current job as Poch, despite the seemingly bottomless resources.

He is no closer to making this batch of individuals into anything resembling a team. And he has no excuses. This is now his team. These are all his players. These are the players he brought in and the players he decided to keep.

He has to go. He should have gone in to December. But it has to be now. Losing to the worst team in the league that isn't Aston Villa.

Get rid.

Just you wait, another two months of life being sucked out of our club and you can have the pleasure of watching us lose to Villa as well, 16th April is the date.

Unbelievable, we could have let him go post Wolfsburg and saved our season, but no, our board has cost us top 4, potential signings again in the summer and further embarrassment, beaten by Norwich, Southampton and Sunderland, three games which should have been piss and so crucial to our season. Disgraceful. Beyond a Leicester collapse, there is no hope for Top 4, even then West Ham would beat us to it.

So we're just marking time now until it's mathematically impossible to get top 4, this will no doubt save the United coffers a few quid on a payoff.

If we'd been proactive a while back and got someone else in, then backed them in January we could have still got top 4, and that would have been worth a lot more than the above.

We have less points at this point in the season than any premier league year. Obviously including Moyes, but also early years when we weren't even in the title hunt! (and the Djemba squared years)

In all honesty, I think he's Moyes' equal in terms of shitness at this point. Yes, he got us 4th last season, great, but this season is on par with any hopelessness and resignation I felt under Moyes.

Moyes after 26 games: 42 points
LVG after 26 games: 41 points

Moyes wasn't this bad. Comparing him to LVG is doing him a disservice as LVG has had two years and $250MM to spend.

This is the worst part.

It's funny how many people live in this magical world where they think sacking a manager will solve everything.

Who said it's going to solve anything? Having LVG at the helm clearly isn't working, something has got to change.

Plenty of people were calling for it.

A new low today, beaten by absolute deadbeats.Sunderland are fecking awful, what does that say about us.Van gaal should have been given the boot after the Norwich game. The board have let us down. The only way we are getting champions league football now is if we win the Europa league, which is highly doubtful.Such a toothless united side,no fight, no heart and led by a rubbish captain.Yeah he's back!Back to being is awful self.So disappointed, this is Liverpool standard now. That's how shit we have become.

Makes it sting all the worse when you read reports that Woodward talked him out of resigning more than once...

Will him leaving cause Smalling to defend his man on corner and not run around like a headless chicken in his own box? Or go after corners with strength?
How will his leaving help the midfield? We don't have a midfield. The spine of the team is not yet formed. No grit, no pace and injuries have been unfair.

That's the point. If it had to be done, it had to be done prior to/in December. Now, there's really no point in sacking him. If Jose wants to come in the summer, it will only complicate things.

I agree, no point sacking him and he won't resign. That's why the whole situation is infuriating. We have 3 more months of the season and already can't wait for it to be over.

Why doesn't he just go?

If he has an ounce of respect left for United he would just go and never come back. Wage thieving is all it is. He's no reason to stay

Not sure how he can hold onto his job after today

Since the turn of the year at least performances improved but results are still very very poor

I'm officially saying for the first time he is not capable of turning this around

I want to see what Giggs can do from now until May. Go all out for the two cups

United boardroom member outed. Breathtaking foresight and timing.

It's sensational that he still has a job. The bolded part is the real kicker. Should hammer home for everyone just how spectacularly he has failed.

Great call. Our season would have been improved if he was sacked then. However, who would have come in at that time that was available?

The man is clueless. His philosophy is nowhere to be found. We let sunderland finish 22 times. I repeat, 22 times. The second worst side in the premier league.

Why bother keeping him around. It doesn't matter if sacking him solves anything at all. It just showes that this is unacceptable, and he needs to be held accountable. I don't care who's in charge until May, but it's obvious that Louie has to go.
Out of top 4, out of CL, out of options. A squad so small that we have to put Donald Love (no hate against Love, but come on) on the pitch.
This project have failed, and it's time for the board to realize this and try to end the season on a positive note.

TL;DR: We don't have a choice. It's over. Sack the man.

Still manages to surprise me, had this game down as a win

But nvm, he will be lucky and Leicester will probably lose to Arsenal tomorrow, meaning a bigger gap won't open up at the top, and the LVG fans will spin that into a positive, because that's what's happened almost every time United lose this season, the top teams drop points too. It's why even through that shit December patch, United were actually still not that far off the top, making LVG not look so bad.

He had a whole month to find solutions to our current injury problems. He did feck all. Darmian going out today and getting replaced by a complete rookie could have been avoided if we'd done the sensible thing and brought in another full back in January.

Why not bring Jose in now and let him see first hand what needs changing (which is a hell of a lot) similar to what Klopp is doing at liverpool.

Results are irrelevant now this club needs a rebuild.
I keep saying this but what if Mourinho wants to take over in the summer and not now? And Giggs don't want interim?

These are his players on the pitch. He has spent hundreds of millions to get them. They are fecking sh!te. Should we reward LvG with a fat new contract for giving us the pleasure to enjoy the talent of these players? Oh and that brilliant style of play that he has us playing, such a joy, makes my weekends.

Moyes leaving didn't bring our squad up to scratch. Neither will LVG.

We need a CB,RB,CM(maybe two), a winger and a striker at least.

Pretty much the same as what we would have said in May 2014.

We've been here before haven't we, its kinda scary how similar it is, play well for a few games and look to have sorted our shit out then stupid draw against Chelsea when we should have won and then followed by a shocking loss to poor opposition.

That's a bit like saying did Spurs/Leicester just magically become much better compared to previous seasons?

Hint: no it's down to very good management.
