Is he atually getting critcised for today? It's on Depay. Lingard was fading fast, he needed replacing. Depay should be able to make a 10 yard pass for a 4v2.

The quality of our football was leaps and bounds better than the previous 90% of the year. This thread would be relatively silent if not for the late equalizer, which just proves the kneejerk logic of anyone attempting to use today's performance against LvG.
Absolutely, correct. I actually enjoyed the way United played today. Shame they tried to see out the game in the last 15 minutes. It's what most away teams would try against some world class players away from home.

The whistle was blown at the 95.58......wheres he getting this "6 minutes was up before the corner" shit from?

Don't think he got his point across well

But both halves we were about to break with the whistle went

Certainly in the 2nd half seeing as Chelsea scored in injury time, the ref should have allowed that attack to take place

Geoff Shreeves has taken him uo totally wrong and even said to Hiddink, that lvg thought too much time was played

You don't have to be the best player at keeping and using the ball, in order to keep and use the ball. Herrera is also not very good at keeping it, in any case. It's clear his instructions were different to what the players did. He can't go out on the pitch and "really do" something. What he could do was put a CM in and he did that.

Herrera is better then Schneiderlin with the ball... by a clear, clear, distance. Schneiderlin has been terrible with the ball of late, so not sure how bringing him on - for Fellaini was doing an excellent defensive shift no less - was "doing something".

There was literally nothing stopping from putting them both on the pitch at any rate. Especially as Mata was visibly knackered.

If the board, Woodward, or the owners are resigned changing the manager at the end of the season, does it not make sense to do it now if the replacement, ie, Jose is available now? Why not let the new manager get a head start on the season and get a good look at the current crop of players so we can hit the ground running next season. There is also that little thing called the Champions League that would be nice for us to get in next season. At this point, it's a forgone conclusion that we won't make it on domestic results. Europa League could be our only hope.

I was all ready to start a 'Has he turned it around?' thread. But alas, it wasn't to be.

And yes, I agree that Depay on seemed like a strange substitution. Keeping possession and staying solid - which is what you want when defending a lead - are not exactly his forte.

We do face a battle now to finish in the top four, and potentially the prospect of not seeing United in another Champions League game until at least August 2017.

We still have a chance to make top 4 because there are enough games til the end of the season. But not with LVG. Fire him before it is too late.

This!!!!

Please just fire him NOW!!!!

This, some may even want him to stay if we manage to claw the gap back a little and we finish 5th by a small margin. :nervous:

Some people seem to love glorious failure.

No. Some people like winning at all costs = chelsea, inter, city, madrid etv.

Some people like winning the right way - the beautiful way = Barcelona Bayern Arsenal united

Some people love winning at all costs & that is only good until it gets sussed out. Mourinho is the most well known manager & 3/4 of the teams know how to play against him.

Even if he is successful we will be successful for 3 or 4 years max & it will be the same supporters who want him in who will want him out.

Why wait till the end of the season? What's there to lose?

1. United are currently much improved and playing well.
2. Van Gaal has assembled a coaching squad, physios, video technicians, and there's the Giggs factor

Destroying this entire setup mid season because some fans don't like Van Gaal, is not a logical thing to do, especially when the team is playing well.

 playing well just in the past two weeks , for over a season of matches (end of last season through today) he's been a shit manager. he should have gone in november.

We should have been fighting for the league title, not struggling to qualify for Champions League. Today and Stoke proved we have a good team when allowed to play with freedom.

Barcelona and Bayern have both been blessed with possibly their best squads in their history.

Arsenal simply don't win, haven't done for years and years.

Which successful manager in the world can be expected to stay more than 3-4 years anyway?

Nothing wrong with what he did today, silly error cost us. On its own its a ok result, add it to our previous results and that's what creates the problems. If we played like this before, might have picked up more points.

Teams sack clubs mid season always, so what is your second point on about?

Improved and playing well based on TWO results?

Stoke just got trashed 3-0 at home by Everton yesterday. Chelsea couldn't score against Watford a few days ago...

If we have Mourinho lined up with whoever he wants to bring in, we should do it now!

This is why he won't be here next season.

oh i thought it was because -

The club is showing some integrity. From what I understand, the club is talking to Mourinho about replacing Van Gaal at the end of the season, not falling at his feet begging him to come, making us look like desperados.

He pointed out that the time was over the 6 minutes a few times before the corner was taken and that if Chelsea could have their corner after the six minutes, United should get their break. The ref blew the whistle both times pretty spot on actually. At 59 seconds in the first half, and 5.59 in the second.....it just happened to be that United were on the counter, but neither time did he allow Chelsea to do something after the time first.

There is suggestions that Jose himself wants a break for a few months.
He has been quoted multiple times saying he wants to be back as soon as possible. Yet these "suggestions that he wants a break" are nothing more than rumours.

Forgiving me for trusting the verified source.

Firing him now would be stupid. Its' obvious the players are still fighting. if the players didn't looked arsed then my opinion would be different.

We are desperate to be rid of this LVG mess.

Agree with you and Raoul here, Memphis and Schneiderlin were brought on with jobs to do and didn't do them, he can't be blamed for that, and we still lack key players for more effective counter attacking.

replace him now. nothing to lose but shit results and more dropped points.

Yeah feck actual results and trophies, we're onto a winner with our video technicans. What set up are you actually referring to? We slumped out of the CL at the first hurdle and aren't likely to even be in the competition next season thanks to him. He should've gone months ago.

Playing well for part of a season is not enough to save a manager, but it's better to keep the manager while the team is playing well.

Funny they couldn't do it much this season except against us. Actually not funny at all...

You're pathetic. 10 posts in this thread within the past hour to shove your anti LVG, pro Mourinho agenda down everybody's throats. Accept the result for what it is and stop pointing the finger at your own.

Shit fan.

The sub was just stupid. I have high hopes for Memphis, but it just wasn't the situation to bring him on. You bring him on when you're chasing a goal first of all, not when we've all decided to park the bus and do nothing but hoof it out. Secondly, he has hardly played any minutes recently, and he throws him on in the last 10 minutes or so, with no match sharpness. Just a stupid sub. If he gave him time in previous games so he's actually kind of sharp and has some confidence, then sure, but this was just kinda pointless.

As soon as Memphis misplaced that pass I knew we were in the shit. Chelsea had over 90% possession at that point, why he chose to try that risky pass is beyond me.

Maybe he should have gone months ago, but he didn't. And now we're improving. So better to see how it goes for now.

Fecking hell, Memphis cost us? The way he performed? They were waltzing through our entire team for the last 20 minutes, watch the game, we had 7% possession for the last 15. 7%. What a stupid, ridiculous thing to say. He tried to win a corner, he would have but Courtois was quick to get it. If he tries holding it up he'd have been doubled up and they'd have won it anyway, this place has a ridiculous agenda against Memphis. How about you blame the shitters who gave up at the 70th minute trying to sit on a 1-0 lead when their best defender got stretchered off? We got lucky they didn't get 3/4 in the last 20.
So you bring somebody on who would help stop it. Not someone who does not seem to have much intelligence and is bone idle.

Jose did an interview with GQ (UK) and said he wants to manager in England, but will not manage a club in London because of his ties/respect to Chelsea. And he wants a competitive challenge.

"At this moment I don’t have a job, and I don’t know where football will take me, because in football you never know. But for sure for sure for sure, as a family, our home will still be England, our home will be in London. But obviously I am ready to move. As a professional, I am ready to move, especially because football in London for me, in terms of clubs… I think it is clear that I have to move."

.
and this shit with putting on depay for any reason other than the need to chase a goal is inexcusable. morgan was shit , but depay should have never pulled the shirt on.

Wanting what's best for United makes me a shit fan yet wanting the failure to continue dragging us further down the path Moyes set us on makes you fan of the year?
