Every time we score we change how we play, which makes no sense to me. We invited the pressure and paid for it. I can only assume that LVG is to blame on some level for this because we do it quite often and nothing changes. I've said it over and over, and it is quite obvious to me and a lot of others...as long as LVG is here we are not going to win anything.

Story of the season, batter teams for the first half an hour and don't capitalise on the hard work, wank subs, concede a late goal. The management don't seem to learn from it.

He won't, but he needs to forget possession football. This side cannot do it when it's needed, therefore there is no point in the first place.

I want him out, but can't complain here. We were ok.
Eh?

On what planet is it OK to allow 93% possession to the opposition in the last 10 mins?

We were shit for the last 15 mins of the first half and shit for the last 20 mins of the match. That's not OK.

Wasn't his fault. Still, may as well sack him now as top four looks completely gone.

His timing of substitutions is what I find most bizarre. I really don't understand what Herrera in the 93rd minute would achieve.
Waste time. He was clearly saving the last sub for that purpose. Managers do that all the time.

If we got Mouriniho in now, we could go on a winning run that puts us in with a shout of top 4. But, also he could win the Europa League!!

What Van gaal did there, is what Mourinho does every time he takes the lead, so it's probably not the right game to ask for LVG sacking.

What the feck do you think any other manager would've done differently after leading 1:0 at Stamford Bridge in the 80th minute? We "invited them in"? Bollox.

They already scored at the point. We need to be going in search of a goal not sitting back again after they scored. Its wasting time for us not them.

Except for the fact Mourinho more often than not sees the game through. How many times do we need to conceed late goals for Van Gaal to understand that he doesn't have the players to do it.

Forget about the game. The fact is we have failed to win again, we are even further off the top 6 and he should have gone ages ago. The longer he is here, the more this season is written off.

Sacking him would not be ideal now imo. Better for Mourinho to start on a clean slate in the summer where he can Work on the team in pre-season but also transfer wise.
We are still not out of the race for top 4.

Not brought on our most attack minded player when we're trying to protect a one goal lead?

The damage is done, we should've made the change a while ago to salvage something from this season, now even with the recent run of form we're where we deserve to be in the table.

The fact that we invite Chelsea back after the Lindgard goal and they even deserve the win, is something I will blame him for tbf.

Not a chance. We played well against the Champs at their home. That's a positive under any circumstances.

Couldn't understand the substitution. Should have left well alone, or brought on a defender if a change had to be made. But then, he only does that at OT.

If he really wanted to kill the game, why sub off Fellaini? Who'd be useful defending corners if not much more? Why put on Depay who's regularly giving the ball away?

Why not take a forward off for Schneiderlin?

A lot of teams can say they played well against the champs this season. Not really saying much.

Half of you are complaining about going in blind defense, the other half that he's bringing on a counter-attack threat? It was textbook stuff. Unfortunately you don't play alone. There's another team that sometimes messes the plan up.

Now that I am seeing the infusion of youth, I am ambivalent about the man. I love our youth and if anybody will give them a chance, it will be LVG. Mourinho will kill this movement.

I'm less interested in the result than I am the way we played, which is significantly better than we have for most of the year. That's a positive step forward.

No, sacking him 2 months ago would be much better, but bring Jose in now gives us a small chance of top 4.

Keeping LVG we're more likely to finish 7th.

Now the top four is all but gone, we need to get rid of this bloke.. he has failed to do the bare minimum.

We already had a counter attack thread on the pitch (Martial)... not sure why we needed another one... especially when he's coming on for Lingard, who's also a counter attack threat.

He doesn't understand how substitutions work.

Memphis was a head scratcher.

Bring him on at 4-0 up v a league 2 team by all means, but against a still quality set of players, at a venue we barely ever win at, holding a lead desperately, backs against the walls...

hell no.

Fellaini was starting to lose a yard of pace. It was clear he was getting tired. I supported his subs and thought LVG did fine today. The team however lacked a mentality to get through the final 20 minutes of Chelsea pressing. Let us not forget that this Chelsea side won the league last year. They know how to win games, and come back in games. Our side is a rebuilt team that doesn't have SAF's mentality instilled in them. I'm sure in time they will get it but it does take time.

If you are going to bash LVG you should look to the games leading up to today. Our performances from November through to these past few weeks have been largely unacceptable.

Yeah I agree. Top 4 was gone when we didn't make a change after the Bournemouth game.

All we can hope for now is to win the FA Cup.

If it was up to me, I'd sack him and get Jose in now and give the Europa League a crack. But, with Van Gaal, we won't be winning that competition. If Jose doesn't want the job now at least get Giggs in until the end of the year so we can see some decent football.
