It's not possible because we know that Mourinho had a sacking clause and that Chelsea didn't pay it, they had to give him something. If they kept the gardening leave than Mourinho got shafted because he didn't got the money and didn't got the freedom.

Let's be clear - the only people who know anything about Mourinho's contract are himself, his reps, and Chelsea. Everything is speculation.....and that's all im doing too.

That's fair.

Already got you covered in that one mate (yes I know it's shit, but it's related).

The United way

We are trying to convince someone to take Giggs.
Fergie wouldn't say no but wouldn't be great if Giggsy could step up with his game to becoming director of Youth Academy someday ? He probably know pretty well how these mechanisms work.

Journos should be asking at least once a month at the pressers how's his current situation and future at the club looks like as things prove to change quickly now.

There'll be a morbid optimism for a lot of fans tonight. Win and we're in the next round. Lose and VG could be gone.
Or more likely, lose and we'll get some rumours that he's offered to resign, followed by an emotional press conference saying he hasn't. Rinse and repeat until Woody finally cracks and starts polishing his head in the Shine-O Ball-O.

Van gaal should create a Tom Petty cover band: I won't resigned by Louis Against the Broken Hearts.

He's making fecking excuses with the injuries now. The team has been playing and producing crap ever since he took over, apart from that 3 games late last season.

This guy really doesn't want to keep his job does he. Starting Fellaini and Lingard again, go fcuk yourself LVG, fecking turd. Herrera, Pereira and Januzaj on the bench. He's a bone idle manager without a clue to what he's meant to be doing at UTD, its official LVG is worse and a more frustrating manager than Moyes ever was. Were going to lose our most talented youngsters due to him, while we keep turds like Lingard stinking up the place for years to come.

I'd sacrifice the FA cup if it means LvG gets sacked.
Don't want many more losses in the league, better to do it in a cup.

I was just thinking the same thing, to the extent that I didn't really care when Derby just scored - don't get me wrong, I'm not cheering Derby, but a big part of me thought this could work out just fine if it resulted in a managerial change

We can get beat here, but the chances are he'd still not be sacked. We're currently experiencing the worst run of form in decades, we were knocked out of the Champions League, we havent scored a goal in the first half of a home game in months, we've spent £200m for performances as shite as this, yet he's still here. I imagine a defeat to Debry in the FA Cup would be just another day at the offices of Old Trafford for the clowns running this club.

why does anyone think a loss tonight will see him sacked?

Were you not around for the ridiculous run where we didn't win in ages, lost sh!tloads in a row and went out of 2 cups?

Sacking him with about 1 day of the transfer window left would be silly.

Because this would be getting knocked out to lower league opposition yet again in our last realistic chance to win a trophy (we're miles off the likes of Dortmund and Napoli atm so Europa League is unlikely with LvG).

I'm at the point now where my disdain for LVG is so high that any joy of winning is canceled out by the fact that LVG won't get fired.

We just beat a Championship side, that should be mandatory not job saving.

This. I am ashamed to say that I am at least 50% disappointed we won this game. I've hit fecking rock bottom, because no self respecting fan should be saying such a thing. Damn you feelings! You betray me!

Good win today, but if anyone thinks a win against a Championship side changes anything, they're deluding themselves.

The club you love is currently being run by incompetent people unable to plan long term. The most reasonable thing as a supporter is to be frustrated and disappointed for every day that goes by without a change. Our problems are not all LvG's fault, but the change has to start by getting rid of him. Until that happens I think most fans are unable to enjoy United games fully.

well do remember the likes of Arsenal and Man city are also in the FA cup. No more likely to win FA cup with that ration...

It's a pipe dream, but I it would be brilliant if Woodward brought the axe down on LVG now. Nobody would see it coming.

A decent performance, relative to what we've seen lately. That can be attributed to the level of our opponent more than anything else. I sincerely hope we kick on from here, but the smart money is on another soul-draining performance on Tuesday.
