January 28 2026:

"You have said I am sacked 63 times already. 63 times. But I am still here"

"I have been saying for last 11 years, it ish a processh. Wayne is back from injury next week, he ish my captain and shall start the next game."

"Last year we were promoted from... Conference North, we shall look to progressh to next division, it ish a processh, this is my... our philosophy"

Van Gaal is to football managers what Steven Seagal is for martial artists.

Probably not the best comparison dude. Seagal is a 7 Dan aikido master and was the first foreigner to open an akido dojo in Japan.

The guy might be a tool, but he's also the real deal in a martial arts sense.

Van Gaal to football managers is what David Carradine is to martial arts.

Glad someone said that, I like him, his films aren't great but you can't beat a bit of pattacake ass kicking

When using analogy's I like to use a T-Rex as an example.

A T-Rex trying to use a backscratcher would be fun

I guess the issue there is what guarantees do we have that we'll get a CL spot if we sack him?

Transfer window is basically done so our squad remains the same. I don't think we're getting top 4 either way at the moment, so maybe dragging this to the end of the season will be better in the long run if it means we get the next managerial appointment right.

Lots of assumptions but there must be 'some' method to our madness?!?

For a club of our statue, not having the Champions weakens our brand.
I think the only thing that will get through to Woodward and co is a talking to from Adidas and the rest of the sponsors. I think there are clauses in the contract in which they pay less if we are out of the Champions League, not to mention the loss of revenue and the inability to attract the elite players.

Woodward thinks because he got Falcao and Di Maria when were out of the Champions League, it will always be that way. Someday soon, he is in for a very rude awakening.

Fecker needs to go obviously. But LVG's eventual sacking will only bring about uncertainty and more questions. Whereas when Moyes got shitcanned, a dark cloud was lifted and it was the best news of an otherwise miserable season for most on here. Doubt LVG's departure will be as celebrated seeing the uncertainty of who we'll bring in next as well as the level where the club currently find themselves at. I've got no confidence in our next hiring if his name isn't Pep or Jose.

Honestly, we would probably do better without a manager at this point.

If any two events show how thoroughly ignored football fans - the lifeblood of the game - are, and how money is the be-all and end-all now, it's situations like the hypothetical one above and the fact that FIFA were criticised by fans for years and yet nothing was done until corporate interests felt thwarted or tarnished by association.

Vidic to take over as manager?

I realise this is a joke BUT he could hardly do any worse could he. He's a proper hard man too so might be able to scare other players into performing like Keano did with the Neville's. I'm sure having played with him for years, the likes of Rooney and Carrick have a lot of respect for Nemanja, hopefully more than they're showing for LVG.

A T -Rex at wingback would be even better
Already got you covered in that one mate (yes I know it's shit, but it's related).

Pah, these masterplans allegedly scribbled on LVG's clipboard are as nothing compared to Giggs' in-depth dossiers on our opposition:

'Look out fer that Andros Townsend - he's a bit nippy, like. And if y'reckon Eric's Son's no good - think on, chuck.'

The longer this goes on, the more I think it indicates Giggs is absolutely not in the running for the job. I think he has made it clear he doesn't want it on a temporary basis and would only want it permanent and the club aren't prepared to gamble.

The next question then is who? LVG will be out the door come the summer at the very latest. Is Mourinho essentially on gardening leave and cant take a job in England (without a massive fee) until the summer? Would explain a few things.

If we lose then my missus is getting some angry sex tonight.

That'll probably be quoted in tomorrow's newspapers:

United fan's online fury at latest LVG setback - feathers fly as Mr Pigeon THREATENS his bird

This part is not possible, Mourinho has been sacked, so his contract can't be enforced by Chelsea and even if they didn't sacked him and they mutually agreed on his departure, he didn't received the entirety of his sacking clause which means that they gave him something else and that's probably freedom to sign for whoever he wants.

 That's not what I meant and you know it, mystery journalist.

It'd be a lot more fun if you were manager, chief. Besides, you're surely as qualified as Giggsy. :D

That's not correct. A Compromise Agreement can include a period of gardening leave - given the money involved it is entirely plausible regardless of how his exit has been publicised. The issue is nobody knows (and yes im also mindful of his statement regarding being ready for his next job). Im not saying it's the case, just speculation.

As I said, I think the longer LVG survives is more of an indication on Giggs.

I've even got my six page love letter sorted;

1 - Show players a video of my little cousin kicking a ball forward on loop until they remember what they look like again.
2 - Punch Woodward in his cocknose face.
3 - Win everything.

You've got three steps?

Well, I guess you could say it's a...process.

That's certainly possible.

The other possibility is that we're hellbent on seeing the scheme through: LVG as mentor and rebuilder, Giggs to take over when the “process” is completed.

The main question for me is to what extent the club feel CL football is essential next season. If we continue to struggle under LVG and he gets sacked – Moyes style – when 4th is mathematically impossible...well, I'd be inclined to kick Woody in the nuts next time I see him.

It would actually be better, in a grotesque sort of way, if we did not sack him for losing out on 4th – that would at least indicate a plan, albeit a highly questionable one. But even a crazy plan is better than no plan beyond “hope he gets it right” and pure penny pinching.

It's not possible because we know that Mourinho had a sacking clause and that Chelsea didn't pay it, they had to give him something. If they kept the gardening leave than Mourinho got shafted because he didn't got the money and didn't got the freedom.

Very true. Hard to judge what's going on. Im just speculating on a potential angle
