I've kind of just accepted that our club is a total mess. Trying to force myself to believe the club knows what it's doing is taking too much of a mental tole.

It's like Star Wars from episode 6 to the prequels, you just come to accept how much they have messed everything up, and you are over the mess, because the people running the club either don't want to fix the problem, or know how to.

De Gea would certainly be one of the two.

Not sure about the second, maybe Rooney? Again, it all depends on how Mitten determines "best" as you said.

Isn't Mitten a big Herrera fan? It is hard to say though, not to mention it's probably BS anyway as he seems to be out of the loop these days.

Perhaps it's a sly, attention-grabbing line. He might mean DDG, sure, but one of the two could be Carrick (who might retire).

Saying he could get sacked for a fourth time if they lose at Derby. Arrogant smart arse. Counting down the days till he's gone.

“Everybody knows I have signed a three year contract and I have said it is a process. It is not one game it is a process and I want to continue until the end,” he says.

“If I was not willing to do that, I don’t think I would have started here one and a half years ago.”

“It is not good when I am always here in the press conference to defend myself. I don’t want to defend myself, I want to analyse what is happening at Manchester United.

“When you see the circumstances that we have eight injuries, you cannot say that is the manager’s fault because there are five or six contact injuries and also in the same positions.

He isn't coming across like a man that's job is under threat that's for sure.

My 69 year old father in law is also a United fan and is always the voice of reason to my rants over the shite performances etc, but even he is now calling for LVG's head!

VG's head has become the holy grail, scratch that both Wooward and VG's heads are the holy grail fans want, because both should be out the door

Time to buckle up and accept we aren't winning anything for a long time. This arrogant, useless manager is going nowhere.

That an interview from last year?

The embargoed section of the press conference is entirely talking about his future - seems that there's no sign of him leaving before his three years are up. Having survived this long I'd guess there's not much chance of that changing at this stage.

He doesn't want to defend himself because he knows everything he says will be scrutinized by fans and so on as "just another excuse", but the injuries HAVE crippled us and made it impossible to put a consistent XI out on the pitch game after game.

The way he's talking it sounds like he won't resign regardless of how things go. Honestly sick of him. Really want us to win tomorrow, my biggest hope for this season is winning the FA Cup!

Maybe he should't have gone into the season with the thinnest squad ever. We could have thrown Hernandez in when Martial was injured or bought a back-up striker. There is no excuse for a Manchester United team having Fellaini upfront, especially when we have spent so much money! Fair enough if his hands were tied but he has just fecked up. Simple.

I must admit with all the negativity surrounding the club I'm surprised he wasn't sacked earlier in the week.

I think it's more about the defence and Carrick/Schweini.

Shaw/Rojo/Valencia is all a big part of the defence, then they all 3 get long term injuries that is not Down to lack of squad depth, it's just bad luck really. Of course it can't excuse our horrible football, but it has certainly played a part.

Have we really been hit by major injuries worse than our rivals?

I'm not, I would have been surprised if was sacked. Think he's here until the summer, unless CL spot becomes mathematically impossible.

Really smart of him to rely on those 2 in midfield. They were both obviously going to be injured all the time. Manager feck up that we are left with Schneiderlin and Fellaini.

That is true and i still think that Schweinsteiger was the wrong man with all his injuries since we are so reliant on a Deep lying playmaker in the system we are playing.

He must be laughing a little bit on the inside. Surely even he is surprised that he is still somehow in a job.

It just hurts me reading that article.

“Because why do I have to defend myself?...

Maybe because you have the worst United record ever in the PL.

I mean honestly just flabbergasted he plays dumb and United continues to back him. We are nothing more than a circus right now.

How is there not a better option when this is what we have ?

I was "reminiscing" about the very start of last season, the loss to Swansea followed by away draws at Sunderland and Burnley sandwiched between the whole MK Dons thing. Strange, strange times in hindsight, Cleverley, Welbeck and Hernandez were all got minutes. We all hoped LVG would be a genius then of course, but God, signs of things to come were there. Against Burnley he had us set up like this:

- - - - - - - - DDG
- - Evans - Jones - Blackett
Nuno - - - - Fletcher - - Young
- - - - Mata - - AdM
- - - Rooney - RVP

Mad cnut.

That's insulting and disrespectful, it kind of shows how little he cares about the club or the fans.

We will lose, but LvG will probably survive that as well. It will cause riot.

Could you imagine if we do lose, he survives, then produce another Southampton type performance against Stoke on Tuesday.

I just hope for his, and our seasons hope that we do something unexpected.
