I wonder if you could get odds on Guardiola, Mourinho, Klopp and Simeone all being PL managers for the first matches of next season. That would be quite entertaining.
It'd make for a hell of a season. Lots of punches and possible eye gouging, but some great football on show.

Today's press conference will say alot. Board backing him ? But no transfer dealings?? So obviously only backing him till the end of the season. !! Pure madness fully back him or sack him. I prefer the latter had enough of the dross we are spilling on to the pitch

We didn't sign anyone last January either. Don't read too much into us not buying this month.

Sad to see this drop down the threads list.

It's literally Gaal in (galling).

I'm one of the people who wants LVG to go, but the media are being fecking pathetic with their witch hunt.

Louis van Gaal went on the attack at his pre-FA Cup press conference when asked to clarify whether he had offered to resign after last weekend’s home defeat by Southampton.

The Manchester United manager claimed he was being questioned about his future in a disrespectful way and complained his treatment by the media had been “awful and horrible”, but perhaps significantly he did not offer a direct answer. “I don’t think that I have ever mentioned it,” he said. “You make your own stories and I am concerned that people believe what you write,” Van Gaal said. “This is the third time I am sacked and I am still sitting here. You write all these stories and then I have to answer questions about them. I am not doing that, it is awful and horrible.”

... Except he did, you moron; right when he accused the media of making up the stories in the first place. These folk really are just trying to fit their own narrative with these leading questions. Make shit up and then ask the person if the made up shit is true or not, and then try to portray he person as lying or avoiding the shit that was made up - therefore somehow proving that their made up shit isn't made up.

Is there anything less noble in journalism than football coverage? Because I can't think of anyone else that gets away with printing as much shite as they do.

Who here thinks LvG will still be United boss for the first game of 2016/17?

And of course, who here doesn't..

Nope, and the British sports journalists are hands down the worse I've ever been exposed to. Growing up I lived in a few different countries because of my dad's job, and spent a longish time in the States, and I can honestly say the British journalists are the worse of anyone.

I was playing FM today as United, playing against LVG who had taken over from Jose at Chelsea. It came to the pre-match discussion and the interviewer asked me what my relationship was like with LVG. I picked the option that said, and I'm paraphrasing here, "He's a bell-end". Made my day.

He took over Chelsea for me too

One year and a half and we still have no wings, no defense and no effin idea how to distribute the ball to our almost non-existent offensive options. Already stripped our attacking force with pretty much entire attacking line-up (RvP, Di Maria, Nani, Hernandez).

Spend the money or leave you goddamn fool. Do people really have to make retarded plane banners to communicate with this donkey ?

Dunno, the Weekly World News was quite the publication in its heyday.

4 days left until the end of the window and hes not been backed. Hopefully thats a sign he's definitely off in the summer if he doesnt go before.

He was never going to buy any player in January, regardless.
He stated that he only wants to buy Galacticos (or players who will go on to become Galacticos).
Neymar, Bale, etc and these players will only become available in the Summer.

Regarding coverage of injuries - he stated that he uses youth players for this.

Sure but to be honest he had already two summer windows to sign one player with match winning quality and to this day there's absolutely no serious evidence that we will make successful attempt in the third one despite media's neverending wankery over the same big names.

It really is mental. At any other big club with ambitions he would've been gone weeks ago.

Indeed. Some big teams with tradition of attacking football would have sacked him for the atrocious style alone, and that's without taking the league position and embarrassing CL exit into consideration.

I've kind of just accepted that our club is a total mess. Trying to force myself to believe the club knows what it's doing is taking too much of a mental tole.

Come visit us here Neil you cnut,we have some who might be ready for some type of coalition with you vs LvG.

Yep, I've come to terms with it as well.

Fair to say a big amount of the fanbase is disillusioned with the Club atm. That takes some doing i would say.

With the football we have been playing recently and the lack of response for so long, its no surprise.

Agreed. I know it's not normal for Clubs to communicate out as their Words could be twisted or something, but i would really like to know what exactly our plans are for the future and how we will sort out this mess.
Right now it's only negativity surrounding the Club.

Yea. Fans will be waiting on news on lot of things - manager, squad, club targets, academy restructure. In some cases, there really won't be an intermediate communication which is expected but to not see visible action for a long time is quite concerning.

I am starting to wonder what it will take. Some said a Chelsea style collapse, yet we're in Chelsea style form already. Just playing worse football.

We can't honestly be so stupid as to give him the boot only when top 4 is out of reach again?

We will probably lose tomorrow and LvG will keep the job.

He isn't coming across like a man that's job is under threat that's for sure.

My 69 year old father in law is also a United fan and is always the voice of reason to my rants over the shite performances etc, but even he is now calling for LVG's head!

As I've alluded to in another thread, it's not the sacking him that's the problem, it's the who replaces him that's the issue. Don't say Mourinho is available - because even if they're considering him, it's not a straightforward decision because of how Mourinho is. I'm sure they would need to have extensive talks and some agreement that both parties can live with. Some things take longer than we would like. It's just the way it is.

It's certainly looking like that mate.

If we stick with Van Gaal and we don't get top 4 then Woodward should be booted out of the club on the grounds of gross negligence.

The whole situation is farcical.

Andy Mitten thinks its unlikely he (and 2 of our best players) won't be here next season fwiw
You could write for the Sun mate

This is what he said:

The mood among the travelling fans could turn mutinous if United don't win but, whatever happens, it's unlikely that Louis van Gaal and two of his best players will find themselves at Derby this time next year.
