That's some North Korean thinking.

It really isn't, there is nothing delusional about what I'm suggesting. I'm as fed up watching the team at the moment as everyone else. I'm just saying that if the club have a long term plan in place we have to accept it won't run smoothly all the time, so lets just get on with things and support the team in tough times.

So you want the club to sack him now and then what?
Get someone who will actually play football. Our squad is better than LvG lets it be and top 4 should have been a given.

Get a proper manager in now, we get CL football next season. Keep LvG and we don't. It is actually that simple

Problem is, When we are getting behind the team that buffoon makes it look like we are behind him aswell, which sends the wrong message to the board.
The fact that the board apparently need the fans to scream and shout their displeasure in order to notice that something might be wrong is worrying in itself.

The board can see what is going on out on the pitch too, the board can see the last 8 results. It think it's unfair to call the man a bufoon, the vast majority of supporters were right behind him up until October of this year. Give him some credit.

Supporting something you vehemently think is wrong and detrimental to the club is every inch the North Korean mentality, LvG is a delusional, arrogant old man and the idea of appointing Giggs is naive stupidity, I can't go along with that.

Because, and I am not joking, it goes against his philosophy of possession football.

That makes no sense, why did LvG suddenly decide to do that when he is so steadfast in believing his 'philosophy of possession football'? I'm not expecting you to know the answer btw, but I can't understand why nobody in the media is asking this question.

It really hacks me off that he can just suddenly decide to switch to an attacking setup and suddenly everything is ok, why the heck didn't he do it earlier.

The club lacks ambition

Which is why the people at the club have spent the best part of 300m in the last 3 season trying to claw their way back up the table right? Which is why we have repeatedly targeted big players over the last 3 transfer windows right? Because the club lacks ambition:rolleyes:

As opposed to not being wary of handing a man with zero experience the reins?
You are right. The club might not want Both Mourinho and Giggs. If that's the case, you can see why they aren't in a haste to sack him.

How about you give the name of a manager who'll fulfil what you want.

I think you'll find the average North Korean supports their regime because they have been brainwashed with state propaganda for the last 50 years; hence the delusion. Your analogy to us supporting LVG is a little weak my friend, I'm under no illusions as to how crap the football is.

People are just calling for him to be sacked NOW but aren't giving any alternatives. I know some have suggested Mourinho but you would forgive the club for being wary about a manager that had his team down in 17th.

If the club is snubbish and only wants big names then Mourinho is the only manager possible, otherwise Laudrup, OGS, Sampaoli, maybe Unai Emery or even Rodgers, you can sign them for 18 months.

Well I was trying to avoid words like sheep, as far the crap football goes, that is only the tip of the iceberg at this point, there are even more worrying things at play.

Is this a wum?

Like who? I know some have mentioned Mourinho but the club might not be keen on him for obvious reasons. Giggs is a non starter as far as I'm concerned.

Sack LVG now and just have Giggs run things until the end of the season, then break the bank for Pep. Giggs may well feck it up, but it cannot be any worse than the shit we've been served up for the last 18 months (a few games excepted).
We aren't getting top 4 with LVG in charge, so we may as well roll the dice with Giggs. Every game with LVG in charge is wasted time. I actually cannot stand to look at his face any more.......

The fact the results are seeing us drift further away from the top 4 with no improvement in sight, I find it hard to count yesterday as that was the worst Chelsea performance at Old Trafford in 15 years and the worst away team here this season. The fact we seem hellbent on Giggs makes me sick, it's hypocritical and deluded and based purely off some misguided agenda to stick with the bloodline of Fergie's era and the fantasy notion of having another 20 year manager.

I can answer that - because his job was on the line!

Ah come on, really? Come on. You also mentioned OGS in there, love him as we all do he didn't exactly work out at Cardiff did he?

I understand that for fans only big, proven names are worthy of the job but in reality that's not true, there are other young managers who could develop nicely in a richer club. The names I gave means nothing, it's just a way of saying that we should look further than the tip of our noses. If we stay in the comfort of the big names we will always be in a weak position regarding the manager market.

An other example if Lucescu wasn't that old and retired, he would be on the top of my list.

Em, so your sick of the crap football too. We all are. As I said hopefully it will improve soon.

I completely agree with you, 'big names' don't do it for me either. Sorry for laughing but Rodgers was just one name too far!

Rogders was a little provocation.:D

You asked me what the bigger issues at the club were apart from the crap football and I pointed them out, I don't get your response at all. We've played crap football stylistically for 3 years but we can't even win a game now, and the whole Giggs mess is a completely different thing to the quality of the football.

Please do state these obvious reasons you speak of.
Sacked from his club, having them in 17th being one. Teams tend to defend into a shambles at some stage under him. Complete refusal to use the clubs academy players. Don't get me wrong. I also would prefer Mourinho to LVG or certainly Giggs but it's not rocket science to see that the club would be a bit apprehensive about appointing him.

That's true but over the 'long term' of LVG's career he has been a proven winner. The club, I think, are looking to the long term rather than for quick fixes. They should be supported in doing that. Now of course I could be proved wrong. He might be sacked this afternoon!

His record of success is based upon short term contracts with a high impact. He has generally served 2-3 year contracts with big silver in the first season before moving on. Planning long term with LVG really involves taking the first year as his high water mark. His second season and third seasons have been very unproductive. In other words it's got as good as he gets.

I was certainly one of the few that voiced this opinion last week. Why can't fans see that is the plan? I guess because there is such opposition to Giggs. For what it's worth I think it's very brave and potentially visionary of the club to stick with a plan like this; continuity and stability breeds success. Let's just hope the football on show improves sometime soon.

They also breed complacency, arrogance, and failure - remember Liverpool and Leeds - the lessons of similar 'plans'. The present quality of our football is a symptom of the same problems. As to Giggs, he has never managed another side to success and his experience is very thin. Top clubs bring in new managers for new ideas, fresh thinking and pushing the envelope - how does that happen with Giggs? To be 'planning' his tenure as manager or our club is shortsighted given the alternatives. it also points to a board that won't face up to hard decisions.

As to plans in English football, a fantasy! They exist only with hindsight and after success.

Just out of interest what does everyone think we should do if Jose was not in the equation at all?

But over the long term Rooney has been a successful goalscorer. Does that mean he should be kept in the team no matter what?

Things change.

Because his team was almost in the relegation zone and his very questionable behaviour

It's surely obvious why clubs would have reservations over him

Thankfully it is sounding increasingly likely he will never be our manager

It's actually the other way around, success breeds continuity and stability. It's after finding the successful recipe that you can cook with serenity.

Thankfully the most successful manager in the world right now will never manage us?

Still sack him. The only thing that should enter the equation on his future is the performance and results of his team. We have scored 25 league goals since we beat City in April - that's the same amount as Sunderland, Villa, and Newcastle and less than Palace, West Brom, Stoke, West Ham and may others.

This is not a recent down turn. Its been a long time coming.
