Louie Louie, oh no
Sayin' I shall not go, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Said Louie Louie, oh baby
Said I shall not go

Three nights and days I (shall) sail the sea
Think of Wayne, all constantly
On that ship I dream he's there
I smell the rose in his (lack of) hair

Louie Louie, oh no.

For some weird reason, this made me remember the following atrocity:

And I hate you for it :(.

Its quite comforting knowing we were the best placed English team 2 matchdays ago and we are the only one going out... Good job Louis.

LVG is not here for very long, and United is building an attack for the future. It's a great chance for players to be part of that. Sure, you're not walking into a well oiled machine, but those players can become part of that at a huge club.

That might impress Martial. But will it impress Neymar?

Did LvG really use the league cup as proof of our progress?
It's called clutching at straws. We are 4 where we finished last season so he can't use that to say we progressed so I know. We went further in the COC. It was bloody hilarious.

Probably not. That's the problem with Louis' plan - or what looks like his plan: The endgame is to buy a world beater (or several), which will make the current system work: We will finally "click" once that world beater is in place. Very well - that's probably the case. But as a strategy this is incredibly flawed unless you know for certain that you'll get your target(s).

The fact we are the only English team despite having the easiest group to exit the champions league at this stage is enough reason for him to leave now.

Needs to go at the end of the season, sign a new deal, or we need to announce his successor at the end of season.

Uncertainty will mess with our summer transfer window, and will more than likely mess up next season too.

Watching Arsenal play, needing a win by 2 goals and comfortably achieving that makes me want LVG out ASAP. No way in hell would he be capable of something like that!

If he signs a new deal, that in itself will mess with the transfers. Doubt many players will now want to play for him.

Get used to it. He always comes out with stupid stuff when the pressure is on. There will be more to come. Now he has to do it in broken English.

This is going to be a mega thread. I'm guessing it'll go past 500 pages.

Yeah man. A article i read summed it up nicely on LvG: always the first to take credit for success & the last to take responsibility for failure.

I voted to let him see out his contract. He's midway through the rebuilding job. Ok, so exiting the Champions League is not the way to win yourself supporters, but I do think we will be a very different proposition next season when further recruitments to the playing staff are made (forwards!). It's a difficult decision for some as they want short term success, but LVG is the man to complete the rebuild as painful as it maybe this season. If next season is a resounding success, we may even want to extend his contract!

My sentiments exactly.

We had the easiest group and as it stands we're the only English team going out.

1 point against PSV and 3 points against Wolfsburg.

Yeah he needs to feck off really. Even Moyes had a better season in the CL than he did.

Chica scored against some club called Barca tonight. Named player of the month in Germany also, while we cant score goals. Well done LVG, you donkey.

We beat Wolfsburg but agree with the rest.

Results tonight have made it even more annoying. His mindset and approach to it was all wrong, it was such a straightforward group. Same issue in the league. Time to go at the end of the season.

How the feck do you get 1 point against PSV being Manchester United?

but it's not growing we are going sideways or backwards. 0-0 is not a result in the prem it's two dropped points. and i say the prem because we got ko'd from a dead easy group in cl. game over.
Rebuilding hurts, just because you are growing doesn't mean that the vulnerabiity factor is going to change. Frankly speaking I'm not really that huge of a Van Gaal fan and what he is doing. Our team play does look pretty rigid, and his piss poor substitutions have been killing me as of recent;however, I am just saying that their will be positive benefits stemming from our youth and our bench and it will be because of him. We can't act as if he has done absolutely nothing for us...

I'm not - he's made us hard to beat but really fecking dull. and that won't change. it's his groove.

van gaal has done well to right the ship that moyes wrecked, but I don't see us progressing under him from here on out.

rebuilding after a collapse is understandable. but the problem is that we can't be stuck in the "rebuilding" stage forever. that should have been done and dusted last season but I think we've seen ample amount of games this season to conclude that we're not going to move on to the next step while van gaal is still in charge. I would want van gaal sacked as soon as better option comes along soon or later. (most likely ancelotti, or guardiola at the end of season depending on how things are in bavaria)

£200 million and we still have a complete lack of quality in our team. Shit tactics and we couldn't even get out of a shit CL group.

Don't care if we are still in the mix for the League. The only reason we are is because other teams are fecking up. The bloke is useless. Get rid and get Pep in the summer.
what realistic target would you bring in in the summer?

It kills me too. thats why I am more in the category of "give him our full support until the end of the season"

You couldn't make it up.
You could, but no one would believe you. In fact, if you uttered this before it happened, people would laugh and point fingers.

The needle is in the groove, but the track hasn't finished playing. If everyone would just stop jumping up and down for a minute then just maybe we could find our rhythm , and not let things spiral out of control or snap before cracking and before you know it , pop.
