I'm quite curious what the posts on the Caf would have looked like if this game were played under a new manager. Probably something like "So much better than under LVG! This is how we should play!" and "Even though we didn't win, many positives from this match! Confident we will win next time!". If you don't like LvG that is fine, but stop downplaying our performance of today. Try to consider that if the players and board are still behind the manager, then things can actually come good. There are of course no guarantees in football, so we might end up sacking him in 3 weeks, but there's also no guarantee that we will suddenly start banging them in under a new manager unless we appoint RvN and he puts himself on the pitch again.

You have a point, but i didn't come to the decision that he shouldn't be here based on one game, and i'm not gonna change my mind based on one game either. We're in a pretty poor place at the moment and that's based on his work in the last 18 months. Even after this performance you wonder what would happen with a better striker and you can't look beyond his poor decisions in the summer.

I think he will be sacked tommorow. I so bloddy hope he will be.

I lost almost all passion towards United
, watching games becuase I am used to and not because I enjoy watching them, don't want any pre/post match conferences, I don't watch any football shows... It just drained all passion out of me and I feel very sad about it. Football is a huge part of my free time, I can't describe how terrible is it because I am not even looking forward till next game because I just can't see how we could win.
Hate to admit this but I'm so close to falling out of love with football.

Board are just obsessed with pursuing their "holier than thou" attitude.

When the bookies, the media, even the fanbase shouts "SACK", they sit back, take a calm sip of lemon-tinted mineral water and wait to make the right decision.

It's what makes them a special club and sets them apart from the soulless fire-a-day nature of the rest of the football world.

While they shut their eyes and commend themselves on being so high and mighty the club burns.

LvG discusses 'lies' in media, admits in 'crazy world' anyone can be sacked. Says 'crisis' created mainly by 'environment' outside club

so 4 wins in 17 games were created by environment outside the club?

This guy's delusion wen't further than Moyes
He really said that? Cheeky fecker.

First time in my life I'm dreading going to Old Trafford for the Swansea game. What a shame. I was hoping we could see an energised performance with a new man in charge. Now I'm going to have to see the same old shit.

The board can go and feck themselves and then feck LVG too. They all deserve each other, the fans don't deserve to see their support rewarded by dog shit 0-0 football.

Can't wait for LvG to lift the title and to rub it in the face of all you mongoloids. Come on United! :D

I echo this sentiment, that is if you're not being sarcastic. I know it's blind faith at this moment in time but I still believe in the manager.

Fewest PL points collected so far in December:
Sunderland 0
Man Utd 2
Aston Villa 3
Liverpool 4
Southampton 4

Lads calm down.

In positive news we've moved a full 2.8% ahead of City at the top of the average possession league.

Swansea next the team that seems to beat us every game under van Gaal, will it be four straight defeats to the jacks. That in itself is surely a sackable offense.
Then the might of Sheffield United come to OT. Will we actually score...never mind win these games.

Better performance but it all relative and he should be sacked. Here is why it is so scary for me a) we didn't have anyone to bring on when we were chasing a goal in the second half (that's LVG's fault) b) if we had of conceded one goal to Chelsea it was game over (that's LVG's fault).

LVG let Chicarito go because he thought Wilson would be his substitute CF. again a bone-headed decision that has left us unable to score goals because we are so reliant on a spent Wayne Rooney.

What a daft comment, IF we also scored and won, it would also be LVG's fault, then? Don't think he did much wrong today tbf, he went out and tried to go for it, the players all went for it, but Chelsea were never going into this game trying to take the game to us and if it wasn't for poor finishing the game woulda been done and dusted.

If he isn't sacked this week, then I fear Woodward is harbouring dreams of Guardiola, which will end with Guardiola adding another million on to the salary he extracts from City.

We have just drawn 0-0 at home to a side drained of confidence and missing key players. And suddenly it's a bright new dawn because our players showed some urgency for the first 30 minutes before descending into torpid, directionless garbage.

What is going to take for him to be sacked? Relegation? He could sleep with all the females in Woodward's family and he'd still be the manager.

seems to me like if a deal for guardiola is lined up for summer then sticking with LVG til then seems the least disruptive and most sensible thing to do. weve no idea if this isnt the case and i personally would be shocked if guardiola was going to city.

people need to calm down and see how it plays out.

Me too, mate. LvG has the experience, sense and knowledge to win this team a title. I completely stick by him.

I certainly hope he shuts up some of the cretins on here before his tenure reaches its end :).

You're serious? you think Guardiola is coming to us and not City who've spent the last year speaking and arranging it all with him in the background.?

There's optimism, and then there is delusion.

He's said he'd love to manage United and he's mates with Fergie who's also probably been talking to him, why the feck not.

With the board that we have, does anyone think that he would be fired after this game?

Posted this in another thread but I thought that basically regardless of tonight's result, he was safe. Think of it, do you honestly expect our board to act in haste, get a new manager in , then set us up to get his transfer targets all within a month?
It's rather obvious now that the plan is to back Van Gaal heavily in the market, then try and salvage our season. We probably have set targets and wont deviate from those.

As for the season itself from here on, I dont really expect much , and cant see us in the top 4. The Europa league will really stretch our thin squad, and I think that will affect league perfomances.

It's no use getting angry. We are what we are. A proud British institution that will stick by our manager through thick and thin. If Van Gaal get's top 4 or challenges for it until the last few weeks, I can see him getting a last season into the sunset.

So in simple: Maybe next year is finally our year.

His best chance is if he shows everybody his balls again, preferably in some presser.

How anyone can believe in anything this nutter is waffling about is amazing, I hope we don't intend to let him piss away more money in January.

What about shakira and bojan from Stoke, would be decent squad players, just to increase our options, at this point we need to just throw shitloads of cash at our attack options and Stones.

:D

The United Board

Lost all passion for United

Bye then.
I mean it should make me happy and give me something to look forward. Not long ago even after a loss like against Arsenal I was looking forward to next game, to bounce back, and we did in great way against Everton. But it is just downhill for so long now that at least I can't see a light at the end of the tunel. I still watch every game and still look for our squad one hour before the game. Feck I am still on this forum for much more time than I should be. But as I said, it is hard to be positive after this run... As I said, it makes me sad instead of entertaining me.

I applaud your belief. I think we are headed for 7th but bravo.

There's optimism, and then there is delusion.

Why is this deluded? No team is running away with it this year. LvG undeniably has the experience, knowledge and balls to win a title, or at least to put in a good chase. We aren't too far behind. We've brought in some good signings. There have been glimmers of the team performing really well this season.

The pessimism and delusion that a number of fans have, the delusion that all problems will be solved by changing the manager after 18 months, is far more worrying and damaging to the club than LvG is :)

I did put €100 on Anderson to score at one point though, so maybe I'm being too optimistic here once again !

Seriously though, I think if the fans get behind the team again, we'll be flying. One or two results is all it takes to turn the league on it's head !

We've scored three more goals than Sunderland, who have a game in hand and are one of the worst teams I've seen gracing the Premier League. Equal to Norwich and Bournemouth.
It's just shocking, and lauding a draw at home to the worst Chelsea team since Mark Stein was leading the line is simply wrong.

Surely anyone can see that Rooney is past it? He had a couple of lay offs and a good shot from distance but never looked like scoring as always. The attack, bar Martial is missing both pace and power which are the two winning ingredients in Premier League attacks these days. Just look at Everton and Leicester.
For van Gaal to set out with this attack is gross negligence and a sackable offense.

Looks like good ol Louie has bought himself another few weeks at least and a few of the blinded fans have their tinted glasses back on.

He won't be sacked tomorrow for the people hoping so.

Wum

I thought LVG turned up late to training yesterday suggesting it was Giggs who coached the players.
