More than LvG has got for us. I'm not retarded enough to be happy with van Gaal's successes before he came to OT.
But you clearly are a Moyes supporter. Those stats so don't tell the whole story

Tell you what, why don't you go and follow him instead? You're clearly a Moyes fan boy.

PS: for the record, I want LVG out. I am and never was a fan of his but his CV compared to Moyes? feck...he at least has one

Even so, what's not invented is the facts. Whether it was a briefing or not, the pressure was on after the Norwich game and that's what our next 2 results were?
It's all made up, we have just got confirmation that it was made up

Briefings do happen of course but I can't believe people think the media were briefed... and some of the papers understood from that briefing that it was 1 game to save the job and some got from it that it was 2?

I suspect he'll either go in the summer after getting us in the top four or sacked after it becomes mathematically impossible to get a CL place.

I reckon the club have a plan in place and they won't move away from that. Having SAF and Sir Bobby Charlton helps LVG too, I can see them taking his side.

I find all this insane.

That was not a good performance, how busy was their keeper. We hit the bar and post early on in a bit of a competent effort then it turned to the usual shit. That was the worst chelsea team I can recall us playing, they were worse than we were and had no centre forward but still De Gea made 3 great saves, which courtois did'nt need to do, just because there was an expectation that we could have rolled over and got beaten 3-0 demoralised and that did'nt happen does'nt make that a good performance, it was actually poxy, same shit, can't score and are leaky at the back, De Gea saved us from losing the game several times, no urgency at the end, stretford end booing him off as he went to the tunnel, feck off already, the commentators going on about how this is similar to SAF's early reign, it's not, lvg is retiring next season regardless.

That's all. I still want LVG out. Rather today than tomorrow. But people are painting this like another terrible performance when it fact is was the opposite. A bit of perspective wouldn't hurt.
I don't understand how anyone can claim it was any sort of great performance? We played really, really well for just under half an hour, after that it was par for the course. Chelsea sat back, invited us to keep a hold of the ball and do what we usually do, which is run around looking for ideas.

It's the way most of our games have gone this season, as pretty much everyone has sussed out that it is the most effective way of gaining points from us.

It was a great 25 and some opening minutes, but that surely doesn't qualify as a "great" performance? Unfortunately it's also one of the symptoms of our failings this season, especially at home, that we tend to start well, fail to capitalize and then falter. Tonight's match followed that pattern down to a tee, so I just don't understand why some people are making it out to be anything more than a very slight improvement. And that's before you take into account that this Chelsea side has to be one of the worst, and least inspired teams to play at OT this season. They're an absolute shambles, even worse than us.

And plenty of people are lapping it up

'Big club' aye? Maybe we should start acting like one.

I`ve brang this up alot myself, alot of fans seem to be in awe when we bring in world class players or having an exotic manager, instead of thinking that we are one of the biggest clubs in the world and SHOULD have the best managers and players, and expect us to win games, we would under SAF, if we lost a game there would be uproar, but its funny how fickle some are on here, how fast they lower their expectations for mediocrity. And all it took was 20 years of success followed by 2 years of absolute mediocrity for peoples standards and expectations of the club to drop so low

I reckon the club have a plan in place and they won't move away from that. Having SAF and Sir Bobby Charlton helps LVG too, I can see them taking his side.

Er... To be fair, Moyes wasn't given the chop until CL football was mathematically impossible. Same will happen here, if....

No I'm not. I'm a United fan. Neither LvG nor Moyes are good enough. Moyes was slightly better. A higher win ratio, more points per game, more goals, more 'success' in cup competitions (including the CL). It's irrefutable.

Your post was dogshit.

Biggest farce in the history of any sport ever
Continuing with him after the terrible job he is doing won't be far from it. I mean, he is statistically worse than Moyes (in all of points average, win percentage, goals per game, shoots per game). And that is, after he spent 250 millions, signed 12 players and has been here for 18 months.

Our performance today was basically same shit we have seen with him until the last month when somehow became even worse. We had 2 shoots on goal, and their keeper made a single save, while we hit the post twice. Three clear chances, exactly the same as Chelsea. Sure, it was an improvement over the last 3 performances, but that means feck all, because the last three (or four) performances were actually terrible.

Continuing with LVG now is a bigger farce than hiring Moyes was. It is fecking shit. Worst United in recent memory had never had a truer meaning than this season. FFS, it is 8 games without a win, and just 4 wins in the last 17 matches. This kind of results would have been enough to sack virtually every manager in the league. Even the managers of clubs who fight to not get relegated. It is worse than relegation form. And it isn't better if you extend it to results of last season since City game. 25 points in the last 24 league matches. That kind of return relegates a team.

The worst part is the club themselves are okay with the standards dropped.

That's what I think too. And it will defo be the former.

It's a fecking joke of the board don't step in and remove him and go and get Mourinho, sticking with him will only see things get worse, I think many are underestimating how bad Chelsea were today, the worst team I've seen us play at Old Trafford this season.

And look how well that worked out. Would someone like Pep want to come in without CL football? Or buy those "world class" players LVG thinks we need?

Lessons not learnt then. That's even worse, for me.

I honestly think if that happens i would literally wait outside for Ed Woodward and give it to his face. Honestly.

Was always going to go like this after our refusal to sack him after Norwich. The worst part is we got just 1 point from the supposed 'two games to save his job'

We're going to wait until the second top 4 is out of the question then sack him, the board are a bigger problem than the manager they all seem fecking clueless.

He supposedly had 2 games to save his job we got beat convincingly by Stoke then put on a 0-0 against Chelsea (8th 0-0 since October by the way) yet he will still be here next week.

Spurs have a 5 point lead over us and we could possibly drop to 10th with a loss against Swansea

Wow, he is not going anywhere as the players are fighting for him. Unbelievable :(

We've accepted mediocrity. A decent 25 minute performance against a piss poor Chelsea team who would've ran for the hills for a point beforehand.

I'm quite curious what the posts on the Caf would have looked like if this game were played under a new manager. Probably something like "So much better than under LVG! This is how we should play!" and "Even though we didn't win, many positives from this match! Confident we will win next time!". If you don't like LvG that is fine, but stop downplaying our performance of today. Try to consider that if the players and board are still behind the manager, then things can actually come good. There are of course no guarantees in football, so we might end up sacking him in 3 weeks, but there's also no guarantee that we will suddenly start banging them in under a new manager unless we appoint RvN and he puts himself on the pitch again.

They really were, Sunderland put up more fight and desire in the first half of that game than Chelsea today.
Our attack is utter wank under LvG, proven again once more today in our *moral victory*.
He has to go.

If this actually happened, I think it would be the dumbest thing I've seen in my years of following sports in general.

 A bit dramatic

We are passive, reactive and lack ambition. We also have some leaches running our club, and they'll eventually decide the brand can still be profitable without needing to compete at the top. Think the cowboys in the NFL.
