sigh, Woodward really should have seen this coming, sad to put the man through this
Agreed. LVG really should not have agreed to stay on a second longer.

Actually, I think the fans can do better in their disapproval and simply not turn up for games. I am NOT advocating that, of course.

But I am thinking, if I were the Glazers. Very likely I'd be reading the papers (if at all), seeing all these snide media comments and supposed fan unrest and I could dismiss half of this negativity. Why? Because we all know sport is emotional. It's probably worse than the stock markets. Glazers have probably seen all sorts of "fan issues" with the Buccaneers.

So the Glazers could (i say could, it is merely a guess - I don't read minds) be thinking this is just a phase. They will then look at commercial revenue figures, attendance figures, merchandise sales which I am thinking aren't seeing much of a decline, and they conclude things are not as bad as the media makes out.

But surely they will be well aware of the risk that finishing outside of the top 4 would cost millions.

I don't know how anybody could still even remotely support LVG's position at this stage, maybe they like mediocrity or maybe they're just messing or hell maybe they truly don't see that much wrong with the state of the club right now. But the revolving door of excuses has been there for weeks, even months now.

It started as results being preferable to performances, then progressed to being entirely Rooney's/Mata'/whoever's fault. It was then all because of a hilariously overstated injury crisis and then moved onto 'just a bad run of games'
as even the results couldn't even paper over the level of performances.

We then reached what I like to call the 'pure desperation stage' when everything and anything was pointed to for blame (apart from LVG of course). The reason for the volatility and remarkable pace in shifting blame can be seen as even the most ardent and zealous Van Gaal supporter can see how calamitous we've been for a while now, something had to stick right? In the space of a week we had the press and tabloids blamed for apparently creating an entirely false narrative that we played utter tumescent shite under most of LVG's reign and that his position should be questioned, as if no other manager in the history of sport ever had to deal with gutter journalism and red tops, Van Gaal was even painted by some as some underdog hero for being so brave and 'standing up' to the true origin of our struggles, the sports writers of the Daily Mirror and the Sun no less.

But then everybody else remembered that Van Gaal was our manager and not our press spokesman and we had the oh so surprising capitulation to mighty Stoke City, and now shit was getting real. In spite of literally everything in front of them, all the evidence, stats and basic common sense, we had a new target to blame. Those utter pathetic excuses for humans that are the Manchester United squad of professional footballers. Yes, in the all the hullaballoo over shite tactics, team management and awful setup we all clearly missed the boat on this one, the players were all cowards, cúnts, degenerates, you name it. Why? Well Stoke was probably the first game where the players looked genuinely miserable and completely shot of confidence and belief, up to this point most of the displays had been clueless completely lacking cohesion and stability. But this was different, the players where obviously actively trying to make Van Gaal look bad, personal pride and standards be damned. Of course there's no real reason actually to believe any of this, it wasn't even a thing before Stoke but what else could be used to abstain LVG? Even the most creative LVG supporter was stating to slip.

And now, after 4 straight defeats, 7 league winless games, relegation form for over a month we have our last bastion of blame (I hope at least) the fans. Those fans that so callously expect their team to actually play decent football, score goals and be good to watch, you know, the normal stuff. Yep, all along we had about 158 excuses and reasons to look to but the answer had laid in front of us the whole time. Forget professional footballers, coaches, managers, tactics, formations, transfers or team morale having any true effect on a team's performances, when a crowd chants attack, attack or dares to boo after the nth shite home display from their club you know that everything is truly lost, damn them all to heck for being football fans.

TLDR; Who cares, I'm still happy with all the background work happening behind the scenes, LVGin.

United scarves with Mourinho on them on sale outside of Old Trafford.
Disgrace

Do you watch us play? Looks like one of the people who think Rooney had a good season last season because of stats. Our football has been horrible since City home last season.

Watched every game you did and enjoyed everyone which we won.

Van Gaal's pre-match notes say something along the lines of 'we can turn this situation around'. Doesn't sound like someone looking to leave.

Nah mate, Giggs and Sir Alex secretly wrote that

Well this is a bit rotten. Who'd sell them, let alone buy them?

Oh dear. The ugly side of free-market capitalism at a local level.

Fired up LvG and rallying the players telling them to support the manager.
Hope not, that would just weaken Van Gaal's stature in front of the players further. It's like running to get your Mum to force your brother to apologise to you.

I hope he fired up the players... unless he's getting used to going through that way again....by himself ok - with Giggs:nervous: Oh God.. can't wait for this to be over. LVG gone and then we know whose going to take over...

We were actually doing quite well grinding out games and winning until the geezers in the media spoke out and called the manager out for being dire, which by the way is a legit concern. Instead of building on the strengths, Louis ended up abandoning a working defensive unit for a lopsided formation looking for more attack which coincided with a nasty injury crisis that's lead to this malaise. For all the suggested strong minded and stubborn tendencies, he's actually been more than reactionary when dealt with criticism.

Mourinho when confronted with the same criticism has regularly asked the media to do one and got on with his conviction.

Ordinarily yes, but if LVG is going to resign then what's it matter now? Quite frankly if I were LVG I'd head to the airport and ask Sir Alex to take over this game - we'd be sure to get a point at least:(

Fergie to return as full time manager for 10 years anyone?:drool::drool:

Woody is not a Perez who goes out and buys players and then says deal with it. If he constrained the manager, by not giving funds ...etc, then great. But why people feel the need to attack him beats me. LVG may be accountable, and his head will roll, if he doesn't meet the boards targets. However, players are part of the puzzle too, and it is very lazy to imply all their individual performances are down to LVG. Giggs and other staff.
Sorry if i misunderstood, i am not blaming Woody for anything. But i will be very concerned if LvG is still in charge after today's game. As for the players, they are absolutely responsible as well, but as i have said it before, it is hard to give 100% when you dislike your manager.

Mother of God

Edit: Doesn't he always go in that way?

Yes because they have security clearing the path for the players and family members. The BBC have come up with a nothing story there.

Could you just imagine if Fergie walked out of the tunnel and managed the team today? Would probably have LVG's blood smeared on his face and all, etc. as a way of motivating the players.

Would be tremendous scenes.

What I want to know is if Ferguson usually go in that way, surley someone must know/have noticed earlier?

Edit:

There we go.

I'm sure that he already did it under Moyes, I remember seeing it.
