.....nope. Read that twice now and I still don't see where he says he doesn't know how to solve the crisis.

James Ducker: I'm a shite journalist.
In fairness he wouldn't have written the headline. Van Gaal obviously hasn't said what is in the headline but the quotes in the story and what we've seen him say lately aren't much more promising.

Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United future hangs on result against Chelsea

http://www.theguardian.com/football...al-manchester-united-chelsea?CMP=share_btn_tw

More guessing from journos, though all reports are pointing towards his resignation if we lose to Chelsea.
"There has been progression,” he said. “A month ago we were first in the Premier League, maybe you remember that?

Yes! We won the November cup!

Get a grip Louis, there has been no progression, at this rate we won't even make the Europa league spots.

I think that he said something like that after the game.

He's being a fecking clown by spouting such cringe worthy bullshit and is as bad as Moyes in that regard.

That article has a misleading headline. Surprise surprise.

LVG: I am a Spider and I'm Planning To Turn You All Into My Slaves Who Have To Wear Spider-Man Jammies Every Sunday Morning Otherwise I'll Cover You In My Spidey Goo

Louise van Gaal has been caught eating an entire Toblerone in a single go, by unlocking his jaw and suppressing his gag reflex in a story completely unrelated to the headline above. United board members have informed the struggling manager that he has just one game left to save his job. The Dutchman has tried his best to get the team playing football, but has hit several stumbling blocks along the way including a brick wall that put his nose back in the right place and a language barrier between his poor English and the fact that the journalists he is speaking to are all drooling idiots who failed in their first career path of becoming published authors or proper current events journalists.

But asked if he had no ideas left of how to raise his squad for Chelsea’s visit, Van Gaal said: “No. But it’s not so easy any more. When you lose four matches in a row, it’s much more difficult than after the third match. It’s like that and the pressure of the environment should increase. So it is much more difficult. There are no ways, artificial ways, to solve that.

We need a victory and that’s very important, but we also have to do our professional work, our preparation and of course the recovery and training sessions. We only can recover, we cannot train. We have to recover and then we play the match against Chelsea. It is very difficult to do that in just two days but we shall try.”

Despite the poor form Van Gaal claimed his players still believe in him. “Until now, I can say yes,” he said.

Remember to add at least three more paragraphs of filler to pad out this article before submitting it to the editor.

I think that he said something like that after the game.

Then they should quote it! This is exactly why I think sports journalists are generally useless. @RORY65 has made a fair point as the sub editor probably came up with the headline, but it's still poor.

According to that article above...the club want him to stay, and not resign.
And according to the telegraph we want him to stay on but he'll still lose his job if we lose to Chelsea. Oh, and the game is apparently at the bridge. The journos have no idea.

Have anyone actually read the article?

Fecking journos and those selling bollocks titles..

No my bad, he said that he was part of the problem and that he had to manage it.

Guys, I came upon a nice video.
T.Henry compares Guardiola's Barca with LVG's MUFC.
For the bottom 2/3rds of the pitch, bascially, it is an identical system.
However, in the final 1/3 of the pitch - there is a big difference.

It also explains why the "system" prevents us from scoring goals.
And the video also shows how to break down a team who are defending in numbers (something we see a lot against us).

Great analysis.

I wonder if Woodward is backing LV to save his own neck? Admitting he got the wrong man wouldn't look good for him. I mean why on earth haven't we sacked him yet? We're in serious danger of missing out on Champions League again.

Ian Herbert's on the case now basically saying the same as Ducker, the club are desperately trying to stop LvG from resigning, LvG is emabaressed by the four match losing streak and feels he has lots the players etc, likely to walk if we lose tomorrow, offered to go a week go. if he goes Giggs likely to take charge as the club are wary of Jose.

.....bleak times.

If Woodward and co really asked LVG to stay on then I just give up, I really can't see what they are trying to do. Again, just from a business angle it doesn't make sense. More failure = less money, I thought Woodward/Glazers were good at business?

It's a bit sad that his career is ending this way but entirely his fault. He's got caught up in trying to build for the future after he's gone, but also for his own record trying to do achieve something for himself causing all sorts of problems. After Moyes he was supposed to take the club on a clear direction which he has failed to do.

Surely this is the point when a manager walks away on his own accord? And there'd be no shame in it really. He'd leave with more dignity than continuing to persist with counter-productive tactics and fall further away until he is eventually sacked. He tried, and he's failed and he has understood that he has failed. He wouldn't play the victim card like Moyes did.

I can understand that the club are in a difficult situation, and do want him to stay. If they sack him right now, they have to replace him. Who is available? Mourinho, and possibly Pep, but the latter appears to be City bound. Mourinho's reputation has sunk in recent months. He could be jaded and in need of a break. The men upstairs may also not want Jose. Sir Bobby reportedly didn't want him the first time around. The next option is Giggs, which has more cons than pros. The club probably could have beaten Bayern to Ancelotti if they acted quicker, but that's neither here nor there.

I really don't think it's as simple as "the club is run by clowns" as many are saying. It's far from as simple as "You, sacked. You, you're the manager now". Especially in late December. We currently have a proven manager, and it is probably in the club's best interests to persevere until the summer, and hope that LvG can have a 2nd half of the season similar to what he had last season. It's a gamble, but so is sacking him. For all we know, Mourinho could have no interest in United, so it would end up being Giggs, which just about nobody wants.

This is too sensible for a late night.

What I don't understand is why he didn't just go back to basics and forget his philosophy, if its not working then change things its so strange to me that a manager can't try something new. If anything I think he'd be far more respected for holding his hands up and saying let's do something else I was wrong.

Should take the FM route and ask his assistant to sort the team. Not that it ever worked for me, mind...

Can't teach old dog new philosophy.

He's way too stubborn for that.

I'm convinced the reason the board want to keep him is so they can go ahead with their plans for Giggs when he finishes.

It's clear they don't want Mourinho now as we'd have moved quicker to get him and Giggs as interim in these circumstances would probably put to bed any chance of him having support for the job full time as it's unlikely he'd steer this team to the top 4.

Plans are in place.

Not sure why the club are so against van Gaal resigning. If he wants to resign then let him resign?

EDIT: Maybe if he'd won us two or three trophies I could see why they wouldn't want him to go.

That's a shitty ass plan if that's the case.

Something about this stinks. I don't think Fergie ever wanted Mourinho as United manager for whatever reason and was happy to lumber us with Moyes. The pre-match press conference had his hands all over it and he was even mentioned by LVG when he said he'd offered his support. All this despite his promise to keep away from team affairs?

Cool, we can add Sir Alex Ferguson to the list of people that fans are randomly lashing out at.
