If Van Gaal is still manager after the Chelsea game regardless of result, our club is run by idiots imo.

Maybe we don't have someone else lined up or havent decided who we will appoint after LVG?

With the tough run of fixtures coming up second half of the season, they(the board) need to be spot on who they appoint next or we could find ourselves slipping down the table like Chelsea if the right man isnt appointed.

If we haven't contacted Mourinho then that alone tells us that our club is run by idiots.

Maybe there's something to the rumour that he'd be given the Stoke and Chelsea games to salvage something.

Yep.
From I gathered, he needs to lose both games to get sacked, so I guess the board are just waiting for that to happen.
Or maybe they are waiting for us to lose in the FA Cup.

He said right after he was sacked that he doesn't want to take any sort of sabbatical, so we should be doing everything in our power to get him.
I doubt he was going to say he was taking a time out so soon after being sacked.

He might not say anything and before you know it he may not manage again this season, time will tell.

Just out of interest... what makes you think Jose would be any different in this respect?

You don't know, but you hope that he will be better than LVG (ie. losing and drawing every game and struggling to score 1 goal a game).

In life, people move jobs, change partners, move home etc. Companies hire/fire staff. We do this, not because we are 100% sure that the change will be better. We do this because the current circumstances are unacceptable and the change will "hopefully" be better.
If everybody feared change, nobody would ever achieve anything or improve.

Oh and statistically, Jose (along with Ancelotti and Guardiola) is amongst the top 3 managers over the last decade.

How can anyone in their right mind give him any more time? He's completely broken. He's meant to be the leader of one of the biggest teams in worldwide sport and he was sat there today with a face like a quivering bollock. He just needs to go, for our sake but also his.

The board clearly do not see this, but to me, it was painfully obvious, after the Norwich loss, when he was getting boo'd and he was walking solemnly back to the changing rooms. He had no idea how to make things better. This is when Giggs got out of his chair and started patrolling the touch line.
In our last game, he was sat there, in a similar vein - i.e he had no idea how to make us win the game. And he knew this very well.
Somebody said earlier, that LVG himself must be shocked that he hasn't been fired yet.

We'd be sitting in a cave cowering away from the fire that somebody had accidentally made. I'm not a Jose fan I don't like the bloke but then I don't need to. I need United to start winning though.

This is no time for joking around, when we're in a situation like Robson Heston in Planet of the Monkeys.

Maybe we don't want Mourinho. Maybe Guardiola wants to join in the summer, so the real choice being made is whether LvG or Giggs sees out the season. Wildly optimistic but nobody really knows what's going on behind closed doors.

Dude, Pep is going to MCFC. Add him to the following: Neymar, Ronaldo, Bale, Muller, Ramos, Alves, amongst others.
We need to be realistic and work on managerial candidates who are available.

With the way our luck is going I can actually see us winning tomorrow which will give our board just enough reason to continue to dither.

Dude, seriously. Have you seen us play? We have lost 4 in a row. We drew 3 games before that.
Do you honestly see us winning against Chelsea? If so, I'd be very interested in your logic.

It's football. No one saw us beating a great Chelsea side when Fletcher's header did it in 2005. It didn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, but we did pull it off.

We don't want someone like Pep anyway. An ex player who gets a chance at management and turns out to be pretty good? Hell no. We're after the real deal. A proper manager with years of experience. Maybe even an ex player, and we can give him a chance to manage us. Who knows, maybe he'll turn out to be pretty good? Maybe he'll turn out to be just as good as the current best manager in the world.... That Pep whatshisnane... Guardiola? Yeah, someone like him.

So basically; we're looking for the next Pep Guardiola, but not the actual Pep Guardiola. Because we're Manchester United and we have values to uphold or something. It has absolutely nothing to do with him going to City. We just never wanted him. But we want someone like him. Just someone other than him. So, in other words, Giggs.
