So LVG said in the post match press conference that its his own choice to meet the board to discuss the current situation and not the boards or Ed Woodwards.

The board and Ed Woodward are the ones that need their heads checking for not reprimanding him. Hes got to go asap but Woodys not got the bollocks to do it.

I had a mate who resigned when he'd failed at a job badly and was imminently going to be sacked.
I remember thinking it was splitting hairs to resign just before being sacked, but the reasoning made sense.

Next interview...how did you leave your last job? "I resigned"

Similar with VG...a sacking would be an appalling end. A resignation washes away a lot of the sh!T

Are there any quakes yet of something imminent? I know twitter can be ransid, but it'll be mentioned on there before it happens.

Only if he was a coach still looking for a job. It doesn't mean shit now that this is his last job.

"4 wins in 16" is tough to argue with. That's basically a third of the season that we've been relegation level.

We've won 14 of the 36 games since the 4-2 against City last season.

if he wanted a new job he wouldn't struggle. After all we ignored all the stories from other clubs, falls out with players, negative footy etc.
We ignored it all as it suited us to.

I never thought that period last season of the Spurs, Liverpool, City games would be probably the best run of form we'd have had since Fergie left. We've not progressed at all since then.

It will probably be quiet on twitter after what happened last time, crazy rumours after the Norwich game and his subsequent press conference for the Stoke game. No one wants to jump the gun this time.

If the club stick with LVG for the entire season, then I fear for our future.

Then again, I fear for our future anyways as long as Woodward is there tbh. He should no longer have a say in footballing matters.

The usual happened. We start doing well and then get a hammering (Everton) and go back to tumescent shite (Remember the 0-0 draw with Hull, 0-1 with WBA). Same happened this year, we went on a patch scoring 3 goals, got battered by Arsenal so went back to the tumescent shite.

We were getting results and then had an injury crisis due to Van Gaal wanting the smallest squad ever. We went to Germany and Bournemouth with a few kids in our team, got done with the same tumescent Football. The players will have had enough. He should have gone after Norwich.

Almost as bigger problem is Woodward, he is just clueless.

Bobby Charlton and Alex Ferguson on the board won't really help. both will hate the idea of sacking another manager in less than 18 months. Alex Ferguson will probably like the amount of youth debuts he has given or something, and want to give him longer.

I have no doubt if we kept Van Gaal till the end of the season we would be in a disastrous position, out the top 4 and cupless. He has to go now. The board must see this.

After todays Game its evident the players need to take a look at them selves and shoulder some blame for the downward trend we are seeing. Yes Van Gaal is also to blame for selections, crazy subs and over all tactics that are deployed, but ultimately the players have to deliver, and put simply they havent. The lack of desire from this current crop is horrific. The first sight of pressure and this team just folds void of ideas, and teams smell that blood. While you can say 'LVGs Selections are at fault' you would have to consider with a fully fit squad would the team be shaped much different than what we are currently seeing? I think it would and apart from that the injuries have hampered our roatational options somewhat.

This 'Hes spent 250m on this squad' nonsense needs to stop too, the penny doesnt just fall at Lvgs feet as Woodward is just as much at fault, as he has to level the numbers. We weakened and thinned our team last summer and i think that has more to do with Woodward than Louis. Some of those short- sorted fans need to realise is there has been a downward trend at this club for a while and these trends always start from the top.

Not enough people here are talking about this.
Our problems are far bigger that LVG, it's Woodward and the entire board who should be scrutinized as well.

Our upper level management stinks.

I suspect your mate may feel different of he had a multi-million pound contract that would be paid up if he was sacked.

I'd be surprised if he resigned given the money it'll cost him. The club need to act if they want him gone.

What? That he's getting sacked?

This was my theory, as I think all of this silence means the wheels have been in motion since the game ended.

It's possible that the media have been briefed by United, "We will talk to you soon, but shut up until then".

After the Norwich game things went crazy with speculation especially twitter, I doubt anyone is going to jump to conclusions this time.

Because it's not football-based management. Which was just fine when we had the same manager for 26 years, ruling his department. Now it's a mess.

Just saw a stat that we've the lowest amount of points in our PL history after 18 games.

That is depressing.

Has a manager ever imploded quite so quickly? Only seems five minutes ago Schweinstegier was getting us a fluky last minute winner against Watford and whilst the football was crap there was no hint he was under pressure, next thing you know he is teetering on the edge or maybe even over it, amazing how it has unfolded.

One problem at a time though isn't it.

The board have chosen Van Gaal and backed him with the money needed. Easy to say it was a mistake now but few people were saying that when they appointed Van Gaal. In fact, most people thought it was a sensible choice.

Woodward deserves criticism for a few things, particularly the bizarre scattergun transfer strategy but out on the pitch is the managers responsibility - not the board.

It's amazing really. I don't think it would be nearly as bad if we were actually playing some good football.

It's what happens when the squad hate your methods. Eventually the roof caves in.

We need to get Mourinho in before we're completely out of the title race. He can win us the big games and buy a couple of players in January.
