Seems to be a general consensus developing, not only that Louis has to go, but that some of our players are too shit to play for the club or are absolute bottlers. Next manager has a huge summer ahead of him.

I can see us having to take a loss on Mata and Fellaini, try to ship out Rooney and reinvest quite heavily in the squad. Carrick is finished at this level and Schweinsteiger is at an age where he can't be relied on to play week in week out. The midfield is still a huge problem. As is the attack. As is the defense.

Will the board truly appoint a manager who identifies the actual problems which means taking a loss on players and spending big to improve the squad?[/QUOTE]
They were supposed to do that after the Moyes disaster and in a way they tried to fix it,getting rid of some players.

Trust me mate, I won't shed a tear when he does get handed his papers. But he looked totally broken today and I don't like seeing anybody like that.
He should have been sacked after Norwich, there was no chance of him inspiring us to a win - like you say he looks resigned to his fate already.

Agree. He looked completely shattered. He clearly has run out of ideas. Let's give him a honourable way out and say the parties have parted by mutual consent.

How the idiot is still in the job is a mystery.
Same could be said for whoever has the power to fire him.

And what if we beat them?!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Beating Chelsea is going to be very difficult, given that we are struggling to score more than 1 goal a game.
I can't see us stopping Chelsea scoring AND scoring more than 1 goal.
But if he achieves this, then we need to re-assess after the match.

Yeah it's really poor that Woodward (is it his job?) hasn't sacked him already.
Woodward probably has to run every decision by all our sponsors first so it takes time. We're probably waiting on our official goldfish food supplier in Thailand whether Van Gaal gets the sack.

Even if Mourinho were unveiled on Monday, he'd be in the stands. Giggs would be managing the team. Same thing happened with Chelsea and Hiddink. But to think having both the home and away crowd chanting for Mourinho  Surreal.

Kind of like when United and Chelsea fans sang "Rooney" in that 0-0 draw at the start of 2013/14

Memphis, Blind, Rojo, German bloke, Darmian, Fellaini (not his buy to be fair) etc they simply aren't good enough. Nor is Rooney, Jones and couple of others to be fair. That's a bloody mess.
Blind is good enough IMO. Similarly how O'Shea was good enough. Not a world beater, probably not good enough to be a starter, but definitely good enough for the team.

I think that Darmian is definitely good enough, while the German bloke should be in the bench with someone better than him to partner the French bloke. But he could still contribute.

Memphis is young but so far he has looked completely shit. Like worse than Bebe shit.

Agree for Rojo, Fellaini, Rooney and Jones. Would add Young and Valencia there.

Honestly, the way the club operates, I would not be surprised if we don't sack him and hope he walks away.

The board should be held accountable if he isn't sacked by Chelsea. Pure negligence .

It should be held accountable for everything that's happened post SAF. They have made one bad decision after another. They don't know what they're doing I worry.

Need a manager in who can shape up the whole club.

Yeah, I've had enough. fecking excruciating having to endure this bollocks during one of the most volatile seasons ever. Seventh. Shocking.

Let's get Mourinho and get on with the season, there is no single reason to keep LVG now.

The club have a plan and they will give it every chance. They have become blind, imo. I think this will force their hands now. Still, I would not be surprised if he's here for the Chelsea match.

Think he'll talk to Ed and the board and resign, probably after the Chelsea match, win draw or lose
Can't see him staying now
Hate changing managers quickly but unfortunately don't think there's a way back .

Problem is I'm not too enamoured with the thought of Jose and don't see any other option at present.
As I've said all along we are not that far from a very good team despite some opinions of the squad.

We need someone who understands the demands of the PL and sufficient quality players to cover injuries, suspensions, losses of form etc.

Moyes was out of his depth in a club as big as United. LvG has underestimated the demands of the PL especially now that the "lesser" clubs are richer than ever before and thus even more competitive.

We need a top quality younger manager who knows the PL and we need a top quality forward and defender in the January window, saying that is easier said than done.

''We have spoken with each other and I have to say the second half was much better, we created one or two chances and you have to score.''

I'm sick of hearing this bullshit from him after every single game. Regardless of Fellaini's sitter, we did nowhere near enough to even hope for a point in this game and could haven been 3:0 down in the first half had Arnautovic hit the target. You cannot possibly expect to score with every single chance you create and even if it worked like that, we still wouldn't be winning the games as we create f*ck all.

True. No way would Mourinho take Chelsea as his first game without having worked with the players.
