What a Cnut!

Jose is a menace. Its vital we do not let that man anywhere near our club.
We all know he's wanted the job for years and do you really think he'd do more damage than the last two idiots because I don't.
I guess you're one who wants to give it to someone with as much managerial experience as the tea lady?
I'd sooner have a multi title multi club winning manager than someone who was a great player but has shown absolutely nothing to prove he may be even average never mind good enough for Utd as a manager.
Why do people on here seem to think that if someone is anti-Mourinho that they are automatically in favour of Giggs getting the job?
There is just a complete misunderstanding between LVG and the media. LVG argues about how he had to read in the media that he was sacked and the media argues their case about the current state of affairs with the headlines mentioned in the Sun back page. Those headlines are basically facts, because we have not won in six games, we are out of the CL and we have spend some coins. It all started with the Sinclair tweet if i am not mistaken and instead of apologizing he just quickly brushed it off as a 'left my phone behind' argument. I dont think any journalist who was attending the conference today tweeted that LVG was sacked ? So, they do have a case in stating that they dont need to apologize given the fact that those who attended the conference had nothing to do with the Sinclair tweet that basically snowballed into massive speculation.
The Sun printed a story saying Woody held a meeting to discuss LVGs future yesterday with the board, which is what started it. They also printed stories saying we had been in contact with Mou and that a deal had all but been agreed.
Daily mail printed similar claims

In fairness, if Woody and other club executives had a meeting on Monday its difficult not to imagine them discussing the situation.
The bit about Mourinho?
If lvg was going to stay for as long 5/6/7 years for instance I could possibly understand sticking with him if he turned things round very quickly but he's not so I really don't understand why we could miss out on Jose (if pep goes to city) and it will all likely go to shit again IF he magically turned it round because who the hell would be available in 18 months, and ffs please don't say Giggs?
The fact that Mendes used the words " not official" make me think that discussion occured, but I'm speculating.

Its plausible Woody has been talking to Mendes about a transfer, and Mendes then mentions Maureen. That gives Mendes cover to say "not official".

One of the likable things about LVG is his view on the media, I enjoy watching him take offence to questions and snap back at them with this face
Storming out of the presser today shows the press that they're getting to him. He should be experienced enough to handle that pressure.
Anyone seen the back of the Sun tomorrow? I really hope it burns down to the ground with nonsense they wrote having a go at LVG
It's just ridiculous. Disgusting paper with disgusting journalists. I've had nothing but negative words to say about LVG, but after the last few days I hope he proves us all wrong, sticks the middle finger to the media, wins trophies, and all while playing good football.
This is the most "siege" you could ever hope for. If the players don't come out flying against Stoke you have to seriously question if they still support LVG, and also whether they should have a squad number at this club.
They dont play for LVG, they play for United. We are going to learn a lot about our players at Stoke.
Well it's not that simple, though. I agree, the motivation should already be there just because of the club. But unfortunately it isn't that simple.
If its not that simple then they need to go.
It's not a contradiction. Getting rid of our backroom staff before finishing 7th and out of the champions league is not the same as recovering from that and getting back into the champions league while fixing glaring issues that SAF himself ignored and then having a poor season afterwards where we're playing shite but still in contention for a CL place. It's nowhere near. If we finish outside of the CL again then and only then will it be comparable. You can't judge it halfway through a season.
The last 2 paragraphs is exactly what I'm talking about, it's amusing how we laugh at others when it's going our way and then change our tune when it's our time to be tested.
Maureen plays awful football. Absolutely dire stuff to watch. For me, he got very very lucky during his first period at Chel$ki. The backbone of a top squad was already in place. Lampard and Terry carried him.
Exactly. A CL place shouldn't be something we're "in contention for"- it should be a given (especially considering all the money we've spent).Few weeks back, it was still in "contention for title" and now its top 4. How the goal posts have moved within weeks.
Sorry, but this little gem deserved some recognition.
I firmly believe that he would. Maybe not from a footballing point of view but as a club, yes! He would damage the brand, status and name of the club. He would get us playing reactive football and cast us in the underdog seat as the team that has to fight the superior teams and stop them. Such attitude is fine and even admirable if you are Atlético Madrid or Porto or anyone not possessing the finances and status we do but not for Manchester United or any truly big club. Even City are distancing themselves from that man and he basically guarantees trophies, doesn't that tell you something? We all know he's wanted the job for years and do you really think he'd do more damage than the last two idiots because I don't.

And I also believe he's being a bit of a sneaky fecker and hoping he gets the job without having to do shit to show he should be anywhere near the job.
If he really wants to be Utd manager at some point in the future he needs to get off his ass and show everyone why he deserves even considering for it by taking an actual managers job somewhere.
I love the guy as a player he's one of my favourite players like everyone else but by not going to another club to get experience he's showing why he shouldn't be considered.

Of course they do as Atlético fans do with Diego Simeone which is why I brought up their example. Your expectations and bar for success as a club is dependent on your status and finances as far as I am concerned. If you are Inter, Porto or Chelsea at least 10 years ago, they were in no position to be picky and Mourinho did an outstanding job getting those clubs a taste for success. I would rank his appointment by those clubs to be brilliant, genius even. But we are a team that should be aspiring to dominate the way Barcelona or Bayern do, i.e: playing font foot dominant football that makes other teams react to it. Mourinho has never done that, he always was more comfortable being the underdog. If he comes to Manchester United and change his footballing attitude, then by all means but there is no evidence to suggest he will or if he will be good at it. And to me, a big club with the money we have, should not be happy playing reactive football even if it's winning. From where I sit, I don't see how he damaged Porto, Chelsea or Inter Milan brand equity - in fact they all became talk of the football world when he was in charge. Likewise, they all Retained status and remained relevant and competitive after he left.
I have some Porto and InterMilan fans who revere him like I do Cantona and SAF. Most chelsea fans still do too.
Mourinho doeas have flaws and comes with baggage but history proves that damaging status and brand equity is not one of them.

Cheers mate. I always looked at him as a gun for hire type as in when you really need a trophy now and not a minute later, you get him in and he'll do whatever necessary to get it and more often than not, he will. Chelsea back in 2004 needed to translate their money to trophies. Inter were getting humiliated in the CL year in year out and Real were being humped by probably the greatest team of all time and couldn't get past the last 16 of the CL. In their respective cases, I could see the logic in going "sod it, let's get him, he knows every trick in the book and he'll get us there". The same situation applies now to Liverpool for example who goodness knows have suffered long enough or maybe Milan if they come into some money.Ah, I see your line of thought.
Interesting perspective - has not considered it like that before.
These guys are killing the LVG vids

Fecking hell. What an embarrassment of a paper.
