I remember Van Gaal once talking about how he realised how amazing the club and fans were after his first match with Swansea when we lost at home and the team was applauded off the pitch and how he couldn't believe it as it wouldn't happen in other places he had managed, he expected to get boo'd. And now it's finally happening to him. Make's me a little sad to think about.

This is definitely one thing in Mourinho's favour. Sadly for him he wasn't able to do that at Chelsea and self-imploded, but he has repeatedly said that he wants to manage at one club for a long period, probably inspired by Sir Alex's feats.
Also find it funny when people say he leaves his teams in chaos. Chelsea finished level on points with United and reached CL final in 2008, managed by Aveam fecking Grant. Real Madrid are permanent chaos but they won CL straightafter without any rebuilding.

He's an incredible manager and we will be fools not to appoint him.

He has brought this upon himself.

I dread having Giggs as a manager because I've already witnessed how much people want 'romance' and 'United way' under Moyes where a lot of people wanted to keep him after that tragedy of a season. It'd be similar under Giggs albeit ten times worse and he would be able to get away with anything. Finished 9th? Not his fault, he's a legend.

Mourinho wants his next job to be longer than 3 years by the looks of it. He himself said that he wants to settle in England and manage one club longer. He has experience and record, he's a proven winner and 15 games of this season will not change that. If we go for United way instead we'll basically set ourselves even further back a few years. Enough of it.
I dread having Mourinho as a manager because I've already witnessed how much people want 'modernity' and 'European way' under LvG where a lot of people wanted to keep him after that tragedy of a season. It'd be similar under Mourinho albeit ten times worse and he would be able to get away with anything. Languishing in 16 in just before Christmas? Not his fault, the players let him down.

Giggs is groomed to take the job for longer than 3 years by the looks of it. Mourinho can say what he wants, he's never failed to be a ticking time bomb at any club. He has experience at United and fulsome respect, he's a proven legend whom everyone at the club loves and being assistant to two shitty managers will not change that. If we go for United way again we'll basically set ourselves we'll stop the cycle we've been in since Fergie left. Get it done.

It has to be time for him to go. Every single game I watch is nothing but pure tedium no matter the result. Paid for another two games to go and watch this season and I feel like I'm just pissing money up the wall as if it wasn't for seeing some friends and having a beer it is just a waste as I do nothing but get annoyed all match and concern myself more with travelling home.

I'm probably being too sensitive to be honest.
No you're not. He does not deserve some of the crap he is getting. He was just part time coach under Moyes. He is an assistant to LvG, but does anyone believe that he can get LvG to change his stubborn mind about anything? Also that touchline stuff against Norwich, maybe he was trying to save LvG's job by encouraging the players instead of undermining LvG. Anyway, no one will know how Giggs is as a manager until he starts to manage hi own team. Pep only managed their B team before he took over Barcelona and made them the greatest team on the planet.

The equivalant of managing Barcelone B is managing a lower league side. Giggs should have done that and proved he knows how to manage properly. Instead he wants the job to fall into his lap without proving his worth. Great if it works, but could be catastrophic for him and mainly the club if it doesn't. Manchester United should never be a proving ground for unproven managers.

People like you are downright scary. Half of this stuff is in your head.

This is not how successful businesses are run - appointing people with zero experience (which is the case, regardless of his 'coaching'). The United Way is a bunch of horseshit that myself and plenty of others (United fans, no matter how anyone would describe us) find nauseating and totally childish.

I wonder if Barca fans said the same when Pep was appointed manager? How wrong they were proved.

For the analogy to hold Pep would have had to be part of two failed management teams too.

I'd absolutely love to see Giggsy be a successful United manager, but I think his way forward now is to go elsewhere for a while, learn some more, prove himself, and come back then.

That GoT video was heartbreaking. Genuinely was sad when he saw the sign.

I truly despair if anyone at United board level shares this view. United way - tick, legend (as a player, unfortunately feck all as manager) - tick, obsession with length of tenure as though it's independent of performance - tick.

Probably discussing the unobtainable transfer targets we'll waste January chasing.
£100m for Lewandowski on January 1st then sit back and play the waiting game. They might say he's not for sale but they're just playing hard to get.

Sorry, just noticed your tag -

I know you were jesting but why people don't remember Ciro Ferrara, Seedorf or Inzaghi?

If Chelsea and Real introduced an actual policy of rotating managers every few seasons we'd probably never notice the difference. They're nowhere near as manager centred as us, so naturally have less to rebuild when a manager departs. It would be a different story for us as our structure is so different.

I wish twitter never existed.

Sad idiots making rumours of someone losing a job, I'd love it if he somehow turns it around from this point.
And this is coming from someone who can't stand Lvg.
I think we'd all love it if he turned it around. The problem is most of us can't see that happening.

Scary? Grow up. The United way is what differentiates us from Chelsea and Arsenal and Barca and Real. Manchester United aren't just a team I watch on TV or play on FIFA. They're my local club and they're a family club. If all that's left is an empty husk of a team that wears a red shirt, it'll be a dark day. What's truly childish is being a glory seeker.

The current manager ticked all your boxes and still turned out shit. And successful businesses frequently promote from within, favouring loyal individuals who have been groomed for the role.

If we sack LVG and Giggs is the new manager:
