Phil Neville: Man Utd are facing 'a reality check' under Louis van Gaal

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35157032

Fair play to him. It's almost certainly down to his experience of Moyes getting the sack which fires his opinion here, but it'd be the easiest thing in the world right now for him to stick in the knife on behalf of his mate Giggsy as most of the old boys have been doing.

This guy said pedro to chelsea before anyone else. This is not happening surely?

The Sun also say Moureen wants to bring Wesley fecking Sneijder in as his first signing.
Crikey, that would have broken the Caf three years ago.

Well according to BBC, Guardiola knows his next club. Ergo since LVG is still in the job, it is relatively safe to assume that he won't be coming to United.

Although you could say the exact same thing about City since Pellegrini is there...

So yeah, my post is pretty much pointless.

Top marks in self-awareness.

If Mou wants to compete for the CL soon enough, he wouldn't chose United over Madrid.

Why the feck would he go back to Madrid?

He was a broken man by the time he left Spain. And everyone hated him, including half the players who are still there.

Maybe he wants to prove a point, to show them that he is greater than they seem to realise? Or something along these lines...

Giggs it is then. Maybe he will turn out to be the new Pep.

Depending on how...liberated the players might feel in the wake of Van Gaal's departure, they might be able to salvage something irrespective of the manager (it's arguable that Chelsea won a CL under such conditions). If it is Giggs as caretaker, i'd advise him to recall what he liked best about playing under Fergie, and just pass these three seasons off as a drink/drug induced nightmare.

Oh dear, I'm getting deja vu of before Moyes was appointed
It's literally happening the same way.

Top manager after top manager finds a new job while the club looks as if it's sitting on its hands. I've more respect for woody than for him to let the club make the exact same mistake twice.

The club's official photographer.

We are sticking with him then. Very disappointing. Winning this game will not make up for recent failures, he should have been straight after Saturday's game.

On Mourinho and Madrid, I don't know either would want to become a thing again after the way it ended last time.

pretty sure he's staying now. And this isnt even a reverse jinx.

It will be deflating to listen to philosophy and process for another week. And its getting rather tiring losing everyweek.

I think him leaving would have given the players that boost that usually happens when an ineffective manager leaves. Now we are stuck with tense players, with a manager than needs a win but cant afford to lose. Does he go for it and risk exposing himself to a thrashing, or shut up shop and stick to the unpopular philosophy? I wouldnt want to be him

I guess we'll be sacking him on boxing day then because there's no way we're beating Stoke on our current form. What a stupid decision though, why are we risking dropping more points with van Gaal in charge? There's still a league title to played for here. Is not winning a game in our last six fixtures and losing our last two games against newly promoted sides not enough to warrant a sacking right now?

We've gone backwards under LvG and the sooner he's gone the better. It's sad to type all this since I do like van Gaal and I did believe he would do a good job here but enough is enough.

We're not going to sack him just before Christmas - how heartless would that be!?
We are an underperforming billion dollar organization. Someone should be able to make the tough decisions.

The board could take a page from Lvg. Since he's been here , he has not hidden away from making the big decisions (rooney aside).

I think they worry too much how they are percieved. Its the same reason why we need to brief after every blunder that occurs and why we allowed the Moyes disaster to go on that long.

I think we are going to convince him to resign to save face, all this talk somethings going to be done about the situation.

He will do/play exactly as he has done in all his games.
Pass the ball from side to side in front of their penalty box and not do much with it.
Ultra defensive. Few shots on goal. Few goals (maybe 1).
