All this bullshit about waiting until the NYSE opens, why? We announced Moyes' departure at 0830am.
Why are you so angry bro ?

Gone in the morning or gone in the afternoon makes no difference. We're a huge company and things like managerial changes effect the value of our stock, or something along those lines.

Forgetting the stock exchange for a minute, I hope we manage to talk to him and his staff face to face rather than letting them find out through the journalists on Twitter again.

It's been said already, but very few managers come back from the "X number of games to save his job" thing (if true obviously). Even if he goes four or five unbeaten the next time we lose the knives would be out.

I'm not at all convinced Mourinho is the right fit for the club for a number of reasons:

-His declining return in the past 5 or 6 seasons
-His style of football
-His approach to youth
-His declining success in the market
-The bruising experience he's coming off at Chelsea

but, at this moment in time, the devil we know doesn't look like he has any chance of winning us a league in his time here, so maybe the chance is worth taking if we can't get Pep.
Cmoon, mate. That's harsh on Jose. In the last 5-6 years he was up against Barca in Spain who have a better squad that he has and still notched 1 title setting a points record on the way with also 1 spanish cup and 3 CL SF's. At Chelsea again he was the underdog compared to City, yet he won the premier league again. He has an abundance of experience in the league, knows the language and culture and is a natural born winner.

I don't think his success at the transfer market is declining as you said to be fair, and 3-4 months bad results at Chelsea doesn't affect his overall qualities as a manager.

But even if you don't like him - record in the last 5 years, personality, who can we bring in realistically that can turn around results in short notice and has the same quality as a manager, I mean realistically? Pep is going to City it seems, Ancelotti to Bayern, as much as I like Simeone I don't think he's an option at the moment...

Do I seem angry fella?

I'm not, but thanks for your concern. ;)

Because all of the major shareholders have to be informed. When Moyes was fired, the decision to fire him was most likely made before the weekend and all the shareholders was informed. The sacking did not come out of the blue on monday 08:30 for them.
People forget how big a club we are, decisions such as these cannot be made instantly.

What would be the point in firing him before his replacement is lined up ? What has woody done that has classified him as stupid ?

Do people not see the advantages Woodward brings in terms of financial management, stability and growth ? Qualities that are essential to improving the football side of the game ?

We need to surround him with footballing people not replace him. Lets just drop the woodward is stupid narrative as well, he knows alot more than the caf do. The caf has always hated the fact that he is close to Mendes anyway now all of a sudden he's clueless.

Context: The ultimatum. Giving LVG an ultimatum of the sort described is stupid. You either stick with the manager, giving him your full support, or you sack him. You don't give him ultimatums.

If Woody has given him an ultimatum, then he is stupid. Period. Woody is not a football man. I don't trust him in the slightest if he's the one sitting there considering which manager we should hire for the next term - I just don't. He may be excellent at money matters, but that's a completely different kettle of fish.

Also, what I actually said wasn't that Woody is stupid, but that he can't be (that stupid).

I don't believe there's an ultimatum on the table. He didn't look like a man who had any chances left at the weekend.

Him becoming available is a game changer though surely? Sacking people is all very well but you need to have a plan for who is coming in. What all this says to me is that the board don't think Giggs is ready (if he'll ever be)

Anyway it's all conjecture as is this supposed 2 game ultimatum. It may well be there's no such thing and that the decision has been made already.

Indeed it is. It would be irresponsible to pass up on one of the two best managers in the world just to buy van Gaal some extra time. I'm a fan of LvG's style but I feel that he's basically a lame duck now. This is the time to act, get The Dark Lord of Football here and we'll win again.

So implying that he is already stupid then ?

There are only two serious choices for another manager, Jose or Giggs. Woodward would obviously pick jose out of the two.

At this point, sacking LvG and promoting Giggs, would be a strange move. We need to be serious. I hope and believe that Mourinho will be our man.

If that happens, I want Woodwards head.

As if Woodward is going to be the one making that decision. It'll be the board and its advisors which include Sir Bobby and Sir Alex.

WOW . Is Fjortoft speaking about Giggs being United's temporary manager post van Gaal or permanent? If it's permanent, that'd be truly amazing. Be part of two failed managerial regimes and you can stay on at the club.

What's up with the hate for Giggs? For all we know this could mean we will go for Guardiola in the summer. That would be a much better scenario than Mourinho taking over now. This team just needs some new energy first and foremost, they need someone who'll free the shackles on them. It's limited what Mourinho could do to the team mid-season anyway.

Sir Bobby has little influence now.

I doubt Woodward contacted Fergie when he sacked Moyes and appointed Van Gaal.

Unless he's a truly awful manager. It could be disastrous.
