Luke Shaw nearer to Manchester United exit [The Times]

Yeah, we might. His injury record and wages might be a stumbling block though.
Ah, keep forgering this minor little unimportant thing called wages... Well, if he wants to play and get some chance of Russia, or any sort of career, he should consider cutting those wages. But, have a feeling he doesn't give a ... Reminds me of Anderson, stayed 20 years , played 10 games, not really, but you get my point. Just don't understand how a young talented player can be so...so..*looking at dictionary*, can't find the word. So dissapointing.
And you look at the guy like A. Young... Desire, fight, will..
Just want to slap Luke, and shout "Wake the f... up!!!!"

He’s officially gone in my opinion.

He played Lindelof out of position at full back instead of him.

I think he'll go in January if we can get a LB in, I just hope if there's truth in the Spurs rumour we don't get suckered into Rose, he's been terrible since he came back and lacks finesse.

Hes just returned. He’s not capable of playing twice in four days, so Lindelof had to play.

Linked with Spurs in January.
Not sure how reliable the Express are though so take with a pinch of salt.http://suttonnick.tumblr.com/image/168868533591
The Express are awful - on a par with Daily Star and Metro in terms of reliability.

There are sometimes decent journalists at a crap paper, but here are some of his previous exclusives last summer so you can make your own mind up:
When Shaw leaves, he'll probably go to either Newcastle or Everton.

Lindelof can play RB. Also, Mahrez likes cutting in on his left foot, playing an in form Young at LB made a lot of sense since he could cancel out the cutting inside from Mahrez.

We've got 4 games in 9/10 days, he'll play in at least 2 of those. His performances up to date have been encouraging, Jose will give him chance to prove his worth as he's showed.

Nice one Damien,handy to know.

If Shaw is swapped with Rose, I can predict Shaw will become the best LB in the premiership & Rose will be sounded out by Mourinho as not performing. Fans will then say get rid of the useless Rose & sign Shaw instead.

He's made his way back into the match day squad and has been making appearances lately after a long-ass hiatus from all involvement.

"Convinced he's gone"

I don't get it. Maybe a month or so ago that may have been a reasonable conclusion but how is him being brought back into a fold a sign that his departure is more imminent than ever?

Difficult one really, he's impressed since he's returned and he's been in the last few match day squads. Why would Mourinho get rid.

I would say that there’s a reasonable argument that he’s been in the shop window ahead of inviting offers for him next month, particularly when coupled with the frankly laughable leaks that he’s in the top 2 of fittest players at United the other week.

Of course, I could be completely wrong and he’ll go on to have a long career at Utd. Personally, I don’t see it happening, though.

I don't understand why we would let him go in January. Between Shaw and Young, there are positions in the squad that are of far higher priority in getting new personnel than left back.

How anyone can come to that conclusion I've no idea, how can people be happy with what we've got? It is of the highest of priority, left and right back are so far below the other top teams in europe its actually laughably negligent.

I;ve always thought Shaw would go, but only because Jose would shun him and force him out.

Now he is back amongst it, looking less likely he'll go.

He is young, can develop and fulfil his potential here. If Shaw gets game time, he'll be as good if not better than any LB in the division. So giving him a chance is logical, since we paid a heck of a lot for his talent, we should make the most of it.

Saves us paying 50mil+ on Rose.

We could solve a lot of our problems by managing the squad better in truth.

Actually play Miki, as he is technically our best AM. Stop playing the likes of Lingard/Mata/Rashford out of position.

If Blind/Fellaini aren't signing new contracts, they need to be sold.

Sell Darmian, use Tuanzebe more.

I agree. I posted in the thread about Jose saying we need to spend more money that, despite Valencia doing well at RB, and that Shaw MAY come good, that LB and RB must be reinforced in the summer. Be ruthless and go and get 2 starting full backs, it would make a huge difference to the side I think.

Mate, big clubs don't play players that were frozen out of the team for 3 months just for the sake of putting them on the market, even if they come up with the ideea.

You play your best players for every game, you don't throw them on the field as commercial ads, jesus.

Luke is doing alright, needs to only work more on his crossing. But you can't fault the guy's attitude, he runs like a horse and he should be given an year to play week in week out and see what comes out of it. He's 22 ffs.

There are areas on the pitch with far more need for quality other than LB. You also need to take in consideration that, in the last 2 games, Shaw made more overlaps than our left winger, when it should be the other way around. He's playing along a non natural winger, that takes a toll on him tbh.

Lingard looks twice the player Mikhi is currently. Players have to earn starts based on performances. You make it sound so simple, but our wing options are terrible, we have no real wingers in the entire first team squad.
I do not see Shaw going anywhere this season, he's looking good when called on and showing Jose he's worthy of staying. His only problem is Young is pretty much nailed down the left back slot.

I agree, our wing options aren't the best and Jose has tried long enough to use the above mentioned as wing options, which isn't working.

Lingard is doing well centrally, and is useless out wide. Therefore, we have Mata/Miki and Lingard as AM, yet we use them out wide to the detriment of the team. We do need to make a signing for RW.

Between the 3, Lingard is the form player. Miki was excellent the beginning of the season, then was dropped from the squad, he's made the bench recently but giving Jose's obvious issue;s with the player its clear to see why he has no form. Like last season, he is dropped for no apparent reason. But between the 3, Miki is our best AM no doubt.

With Shaw, it's a no brainer. Young has done well, but another example of a player playing out of his position. Shaw is our only natural LB. If fit, Shaw should start every game there. Young may be in favour with jose, but he's no FB, he cant read the game or defend, he is a liability there

He’s only the best if he starts proving it. So far apart from a few games he’s shown diddly shit other than he goes missing when the pressure is on. Lingard on the other hand has shown he can handle big pressure and produce the quality when, guess what? Playing in his proper position which is AM btw

Whatever you say, Carl Sagan

Why is it no doubt? Because he is more skillful? I could say that a ball juggler in Amsterdam has more skill than lots of players but I’m not gonna say we should play him AM. Players deserve to play based on form and what they produce. Miki has dropped off the radar and it seems that he hasn’t got a strong constitution for fight

Baffled as to why people think Miki deserves any game time at the moment, he should be nowhere the team.

You judge players on good performances, and he’s not had any.

Such a disappointment if he leaves. He still has talent and could still be a great left back for us.

I think this one has the potential to bite us on the arse.

He's not going anywhere just yet. Summer may reveal something different but right now it'd be crazy to let him go. He's the only natural LB

His contract is running out in a matter of months, we need to at least renew for another year. The fact we haven't is making me nervous we're getting rid.

Edit: looks like we have an option for a further year, everything is fine ignore me.

If we used that mentality for all players we'd be putting DDG out there by himself week in, week out.

We don't renew contracts until the summer;Utd traditionally do this.

If Shaw has any sense,he'll work and wait. If he thinks Poch is preparing a bid then he's sadly mistaken.

I'm not disputing that's Lingard best position.

Miki was signed by jose and immediately banished from the squad, when he hit form this year, again Jose shunned him from the squad. Miki is used too sparingly by Jose for me, its clear there is an underlying issue between them, which is why Miki cant hit form, as he is often left in the cold for no good reason.

I've said in various posts, Lingard Is our in-form player. Despite him missing an open goal against Leicester and being poor on times, he's deserving to have the spot currently.

But Miki is better than anything we have at AM, just Jose opts not to use him regularly enough.

Mkhitaryan played poorly for months this season before being dropped. He had plenty of chances to turn it around and failed to do so. What have you been watching?

That's not true is it?

Well when he plays he needs to show it rather than disappear again and again

As for Lingard missing that chance when are some fans gonna give over about it? He’s scored twice in the very next match to make up for it. You’d swear no other player has missed an easy chance before

So missing an open goal to kill a game off is acceptable? Give over.

that was a schoolboy error and he deserves to be slated for it. A professional footballer missing an open goal

This.

Lingard is one of the form players in the fecking PL right now, and he's home-grown, and he's done it in big games (since LvG's days) and he's had to earn his games.

Mkhi has had a lot of chances here, and is still getting them, but is a player who looks out of rhythm with the rest of the team (a 10 should be perfect in rhythm), and out of sorts within himself.

When you read his story - his Dad being a great player who passed away too young, and Mkhi following in his footsteps as a young boy - it's impossible not to want him to succeed. I find him very likeable and think he's a genuine character with a good nature. But, I'm not sure this United side is the place for him.

I want him to do well, and maybe he'll turn it around here, but to suggest he should be playing instead of Lingard - one of the form players in the PL right now is daft, to say the least.
