Luke Shaw | Deal done! Almost...

Got this dreadful feeling that Chelsea will go in for him and get him, especially with Cole leaving. Then they can play Azpilicueta in his natural position and have two class full backs

Seem's he's based it around that we've given Evra an extension, when in fact the ball was not in our court and totally in Evra's. He qualified for an automatic extension after the amount of games he played, he just needed to take that option himself.

Jamie Jackson got the same reaction yesterday for the Kroos story. This is gonna be a long summer.

Difference is Jackson's story yesterday was backed by a reliable journalist (Ducker) while this one has been contradicted by a reliable journalist (Ogden).

Unless things have changed in the last few hours or Jackson has suddenly become the most reliable journalist covering United...

I here Chelsea already agreed a deal to take Felipe Luis from Ath Madrid along with Costa?

Jamie is enjoying all this. He writes a story which he can later backtrack on easily and if he gets it right then he can tell us how good of a journalist he is.

My judgement on this is that he's basing the story solely on the Evra contract, he has very little substance in most of these articles.
Yeah, odd article. Says that we're no longer favourites but doesn't go on to actually state who are now favourites to sign him. The only club he does mention, only other club who have been realistically linked with Shaw, he only mentions in order to say that they don't want to pay the asking price; will offer him less money and he won't start for them.

If he knows we're no longer favourites then why not say who are rather than waffle on about all the reasons Chelsea probably won't sign him?

I see reporters are learning. You will get more right if you say a player won't join Manchester United rather than reporting that a player is joining Manchester United. :)

Jackson isn't reliable but If it's true that Chelsea steal Shaw from us I'll be pointing the blame big time on Woodward

Evra will accept that Shaw costing £30 Million will be first choice.
does evra really strike you as the kind of player who would accept been second findle to anyone? he dosnt me

i personly think it signal that he has been given reassurances that shaw wont be coming.

but we have wait untill after to the world cup to see what happens. i hope shaw comes as i think keeping evra thier will really hurt us, but im not hopful after this news

But in the last few weeks, Jackson has been spot on. We were also confident on Kroos and the other hour ...

How? Just how do you come to that conclusion? The man bid £27m as an opening bid for an 18 year old full back and offered personal terms of 100k+ (reportedly). What else is he supposed to do? Double the fee and wages? Give me a break. If either of those parties want more than that, they can do one.

Maybe PSG will swoop in to buy Shaw. It would make zero sense since they have Maxwell and bought Digne just last summer. But, considering they just spent 48 million on Luiz anything is possible.

Jamie Jackson  fair play to him he's got sources at every club in Europe going off his exclusives...

Biggest bullshitter there's probably been he's got a new transfer story every 2 hours. Seems to have an agenda against us as well, he hits us with 3-4 bad news stories on a daily basis.

We will have to wait and see because I highly doubt that the journalists really know what is going on exactly, especially after the Daily Mail's announcement about Kroos signing.

However it would not surprise me if Chelsea went in for him. I stated a while back that it was odd how we were stick on for him and Chelsea weren't in for him, and now they surely have the funds it is almost set for them to try to get him. Could be wrong though.

So, with Luiz leaving Chelsea...

Azpilicueta moves to his preferred right back position...

Ivanovic moves to centre back with Terry set to be rotated and rested more

Shaw comes in at left back?

If they decide to spend a big part of the Luiz fee on Shaw, then maybe. But all reports in the last few months linked them with cheaper left backs from Spain.

Evra seems to get what United is about and I wouldn't put it past him if he has answered a call of duty, maybe Giggs and Van Gaal have impressed upon him the need for him to help usher the new era and promised him a certain number of appearances over the next season . We have lost a lot of experience so far and it's not rocket science to figure out why need him to stay now, irrespective of what happens with Shaw .

Or more likely

Ivanovic stays where he's performing well, Azpilicueta stays where he's performing well, Terry and Cahill remain where they performed well together and Kurt Zouma is rotated in to rest Terry when needed.

Chelsea are also linked with Filipe Luis from Atletico who they can now spend even bigger on

Mourinho barely used Luis as anything other than cover, like with Mata mid-season they wont really miss what they didn't rely on

Not sure what more Woodward could be doing here. Made the bigger bid ever made on an 18 year old left back and made him a six figure per week salary offer? Should he have offered even more???

Ha ha, yeah that makes sense as well, just getting a bit paranoid!

If we have a plan B who's as good as Shaw no, if we don't yes.
