They are definitely lining up for Shaw. No wonder they are getting this Luiz deal done quick. Woody screwed over again by not completing the deal soon enough.

Selling Luiz = Buying Shaw:confused: They got this deal done so quick because they're getting around 50M for him, no need to wait around when you're offered that amount.

When you get offered £50 mil for Luiz you get the deal signed as soon as possible before the buyer comes to his senses!

Today made me realise how out of touch I am when it comes to transfer fees. I've been battling with the idea of the club paying 27m for Shaw. All things considered (Luiz!), this is a good deal and the price is not outrageous as I first thought it is.

And Southampton have no incentive to accept the first bid or so that had come in - unless it was something like the 50M for Luiz.

They've been trying to persuade Pochettino to stay, and with Lallana and Shaw being linked with moves to other clubs, Pochettino is concerned that they'll just be a selling club and that their best talents would be leaving so that is probably a factor holding things up.

Luke Shaw’s prospective transfer to Manchester United has stalled, with the left-back considering his options and determined not to rush into any move from Southampton.

United had believed signing Shaw was virtually a done deal, with much of the work credited to David Moyes before he was sacked as manager, and, though they remain in a strong position, they are no longer the favourites for his signature.

The decision to give Patrice Evra a one-year contract extension, which emerged on Friday and could be viewed as a surprise, may be a recognition from United that the 20-times champions could yet miss out on Shaw.

If the Frenchman had not been retained and the deal to sign Shaw does collapse, that would have left the unconvincing Alexander Büttner as the sole left-back for Louis van Gaal, the new manager.

The development will alert a host of clubs both in the Premier League and on the continent who retain an interest in the 18-year-old Shaw, with Chelsea among those monitoring the situation.

The west London club are currently keeping only a watching brief given their current financial situation, with it being understood that Chelsea are not willingto pay Southampton’s asking price of £30m and would offer Shaw a salary of around £60,000 a week compared with the £100,000 United were considering paying.

Furthermore Shaw’s elevation in status to being part of Roy Hodgson’s World Cup squad means he will move only to a club where he will be first-choice and César Azpilicueta has impressed at left-back under José Mourinho.

The Chelsea manager does require a left-back as Ashley Cole seems certain to be released. And with David Luiz’s impending £40m transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, Branislav Ivanovic could again be asked to play at centre-back with Mourinho moving Azpilicueta back across to right-back, opening up the left-back berth for Shaw.

Van Gaal is considering paying Yevhen Konoplyanka’s €15m (£12.1m) buyout clause, with the Dnipro winger willing to join despite United not being in next season’s Champions League.

United have scouted Konoplyanka, who is also interesting Liverpool and Schalke 04, on more than one occasion, the most recent being on Sunday when Dnipro played Metalurh Donetsk.

Andrey Stetsenko, Dnipro’s sporting director who is in charge of transfers, accepts that Konoplyanka could leave the club, with United moving ahead of Liverpool as the Merseyside club have not been in contact since January.

“Our scouts are working to find his replacement. Sooner or later Konoplyanka will leave Dnipro,” he said.

The grim reaper strikes again.

His next exclusive will be to tell us LVG has turned United down.

 Thread title.

Didn't Ogden say earlier on MUTV that the deal was just a matter of time?

Ogden > Jackson.

So, it's another season of Evra at left back? I love the guy but he can't be playing every game anymore.

My judgement on this is that he's basing the story solely on the Evra contract, he has very little substance in most of these articles.

There is so much shite written regarding us since Fergie left, it's unreal.

Jackson says we are no longer the favourites for his signature, but doesn't offer any hints as to who is. Instead he just says that Chelsea aren't prepared to offer £30m and are offering Shaw £60k pw vs our £100k.

His logic seems to be that we've offered Evra another contract, so this must mean the deal's going down the shitter. I'm starting to think/hope he doesn't have a clue and is just speculating

So Jackson says it's stalled which means Chelsea are monitoring it yet then lists reasons why Chelsea won't bid? Ok Jamie....

Shaw has picked up a few injuries this year. Besides, having two good LB's is a good thing. Do we really want Buttner being the cover to Shaw?
its nothing to do with what i want, its about what they want.
and i can't see either player agreeing to sign without reassurances they will be first choice, and evra has signed on that makes me think shaw won't be signing

Chelsea get £50m pocket change, we extend Evras contract, this deal appears to be going nowhere despite a formal offer of a considerable amount - it's no surprise to see articles like that, it provides more of a basis than most transfer rumours in fairness.

Jamie jackson needs to go and see a dentist instead of writing shite articles. Looks like he's related to jaws.

Felipe Luis won't be going to the World Cup, Moreno probably won't either. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea snap up one of these two in the near future, if not I see them coming in for Shaw.

Nothing to worry about really. Chelsea aren't willing to match our bid and not many team will offer him the wages we did.

Jamie Jackson got the same reaction yesterday for the Kroos story. This is gonna be a long summer.

Jesus, can we block all mention of Jamie Jackson?

It genuinely comes across as if Jamie Jackson has an agenda against United. Colossal twat.

Seriously can people please stop posting articles and tweets by this guy? I'd take Ogden's word for it, than Jamie bleeding Jackson.

Yeah pretty much this. It's a £30m deal, I'm not surprised that it's taking a while to complete.
